- I am the mum of one of the boys who rescued theses dogs. I cannot believe how the media have twisted the story, saying that the boys had prior knowledge of this story because of Facebook. This is completely untrue! The boys knew nothing of this, or of DogLost. They were not driven by social media hype and could not have recognized dogs that they had not seen anywhere before! I went to collect my son and his friend from their party when they told me of these dogs following them. We put these dogs into our car until the police arrived because they were frantic and running about in the road. The police told us about the FB hype on these stolen dogs, so when we got home, I searched the internet and found your DogLost website. I could not access any details about this on FB at all. I can see that you are a major player in retrieving stolen/missing animals and I commend you for this. However, are the tabloids quoting you when they say that my son and his friend knew about the CCTV footage on Facebook and because of this, they were able to recognize these stolen dogs? Who has faked this detail? There are plenty of very questionable things about this whole thing !! CCTV was exceptional wasn't it? All captured dead-center frame? I note however that the black dog in the CCTV footage looked considerably younger than the 'very old' black dog I helped into my car with Nelson that night. This dog was NO pup! - very fishy!Last edited: 2014-11-27 21:22:10 by On The Lookout

- Fantastic news but I don't think they've got the thieves as Surrey Police Facebook page has put out an appeal to identify them, with a still from the CCTV footage.. ?

- Lots of tabloids ringing today to cover the story...Hopefully if no breaking news in over night...these two lads will be well famous tomorrow!

- Good spot Pilot's mum so I hope this intelligence is passed to the police so that they may investigate if they are linked...worth advising them to be sure xx

- It is very interesting that there seemed to be a child in the back of. The vehicle that the dogs were taken .see Toby a border terrier who was stolen from the Woking area on 10th October.there was also a child in the back of the vehicle .It was not too far away.

EDITED UPDATE FROM OWNER: "The Power of Facebook - Thank you, thank you, thank you. Due to everyones efforts, we made our dogs too hot to handle and they were found wandering Burpham in Guildford at midnight. We have just been reunited with Nelson and Brock. Thank you all once again.Edited ... Reunited with owners .. RESULT THIEVES CAUGHT ... Result x"
SUPERB TO KNOW THAT THE THIEVES HAVE INDEED BEEN APPREHENDED. GREAT JOB DONE BY SURREY POLICE - 2014-11-22 19:19 #stoppettheft
- Soooo glad I stayed up late & saw the fab 'reunited' news last night :) Well done Jamal & Matt - it's a shame that ALL mankind is not as honest & caring as you 2 - i dread to think what would have happened to those 2 poor cockers if they had been left to roam nr main road :(
Yes, Hazel - as i said on my Twitter profile - how terrible that there appeared to be a child sitting in the back - probably thinking their dad/brother/uncle's actions are 'the norm'.
I really hope the Authorities follow up the CCTV & apprehend these evil beings - What worries me most is that they have probably Stolen Dogs before these 2 ? Who knows how many & where they have ended up
Government need to 'toughen up' as You say Hazel - "Chop off their Hands" I always suggest !
Oh, & Many Thanx to all my followers for RTing the CCTV clip so quickly & I have never seen so many notifications 'flying around' on Facebook - deffo. #2hottohandle - Wishing All lost & stolen pets were back home so soon :(

- This is fantastic news....well done owners for installing CCTV , the police for their quick action and everyone who helped to make them too hot to handle.
An unspeakable offence that I hope police will follow up with swift arrests and charges....I am appalled that a child appears to sit in the back of the car....what lessons and life is that child learning. We must do more to fight dog crime...I think the MOJ now need to give us more guidelines on sentencing and UKGov need to support our police more to deal with these increasing crimes...both are their to protect the public and that includes dog owners and their beloved pets
I am so, so pleased you have your babies home ....locks on gates and keep them close xx - 2014-11-22 10:10 yvonne

- Hi, I am happy to tell you that it was my son and his friend who found your dogs in Burpham, Guildford early this morning. They were making their way home from a party and the two dogs followed them for quite some time. The boys contacted RSPCA, then the Surrey Dog Warden and eventually the police came to where these boys kept the dogs safe in a car until help arrived. The police told them that the dogs were stolen so you can imagine my reaction after realising that the boys had saved these wonderful, friendly pets. The police told them that they were worker dogs. Nelson was pretty anxious but the black one being older, was so happy, knowing he was on his way home. God bless you and love to your dogs. Jamal Betts and Matt Kipping (both on Facebook) were praised as heros by me and I was really proud of them.

- Nelson and Brock have been found - too hot to handle so they were dumped and now back home safely with their family. Yeay!Last edited: 2014-11-22 01:09:31 by sallybee

- please can the owner be asked for more detail on the dogs. I am concerned that these dogs will be made too hot to handle and, while the majority of us are unlikely to see the car, we do have some very eagle eyed volunteers that can keep a look out for the dogs if dumped
