I am having trouble uploading the photo here. I have e-mailed admin a photo of a similar looking dog as the owner is struggling to find one.

Please note that the dog at Leigh Dogs Home is not Sweep - the owner has personally visited there today and the dog is male.

Please can e-mail alerts go out too.

Here is an update from Bob, fingers and paws crossed!! x

Hi Claire, Thank you so much for all the info., so. so helpful Looking at the photo. from the Leigh Dogs Home, it does look just like Sweep !! Although I did speak to them this morning and they did assure me that they would contact me should anyone bring a dog in to them that met my description of Sweep. I am surprised therefore, that they didn't phone me. Had they have done, then she wouldn't have the stress of having to stay overnight in a kennel environment.!!

I will phone them tomorrow and arrange to go over and check if it is her. Unfortunately I have an appointment in Northwich in the morning which will be impossible to change, therefore, although I will phone as early as poss. it will depend on how early I can get a response from them.

I will contact you immediately I have anything to report, good or bad.

Once again my sincere thanks for your response and for all the support you have provided thus far.

Regards Bob.

I have just spoken to the owner of Sweep. She went missing at 8am this morning, the dogs were all being fed as routine, and when he looked round, she wasnt there.

He is going to try and get me a photo tomorrow, but please can everyone look out for this little old lady.

Stay safe Sweep until you are found x

Sorry to see that SWEEP is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (78734)

  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
