- A stray dog has been taken in by SHAK rescue. Apparently Council wardens won't release the dog until Monday officially but could be contacted at Northumberland council then and ask for animal welfare. Here is a link to SHAK site so you can see the found dog. Finger's crossed http://www.shak.org.uk/

CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS??
A group of young lads were seen on 5th January probably after school, sitting on a wall, near where the new Co-Op is being built in Pegswood, with a small brown dog on a lead and chain. They were apparantley yanking on the chain and the dog looked as if it didn't like it. The man that saw them thought they may be from the council estates at the end of Pegswood towards Morpeth. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions about this or know where this is etc????? or have also seen these boys in the area. A long shot, but we have to follow up everything we see or hear. Please share this as much as you can, it would be greatly appreciated. There is a reward for Sasha's safe return. xLast edited: 2015-01-07 19:30:42 - 2015-01-04 10:59 Riverlady

- To give you hope... Years and years ago my dog used to regularly do a morning flit then be found at home, sometimes as much as 5 miles away by the evening. No DogLost or internet then! Plenty of grumps, though!
Current dog is very sensitive to direction and happier homeward bound on a walk, they're cleverer than one would imagine...
So really hoping that this is a reliable sighting for your friend and Sasha found soon! - 2015-01-03 23:01 AlisonH

- ***UPDATE - SASHA - MISSING - LONGHIRST - NORTHUMBERLAND***
We have had news from the Hairdressers in Pegswood, that a dog, described exactly as Sasha, even down to her red tartan collar, was seen running up and down outside the shop 2 weeks ago!!! They approached her and she came up to them, very friendly, doing everything that Sasha does, looking very well. They thought it odd for the dog to be on its own and debated whether or not to hold on to her. Sasha's owner showed them her photo today and they are adamant that it was Sasha they saw. We are trying not to get too excited, but it does seem a good lead. But where can she be sleeping, eating etc????? where is she now!!!.... if it is Sasha, she is still wearing her collar with identity tag!!!! It may be that she is trying to find her way home (from Ashington maybe), as Longhirst is very close to Pegswood. Posters are being printed to put around in Pegswood, but can anyone share with Pegswood and pass the word. This is an extraordinary sighting and one that has given us renewed hope.NE61 POSTCODE FOR PEGSWOOD MORPETH - 2015-01-02 10:03 Happiness yorkie lover xxx

- PLEA FOR HELP.
I live in London, but would like to contact your group in an effort to try and help find my closest friend's missing dog. Could you please help me. SASHA, a brown Patterdale/Miniature Jack Russell cross, went missing from her garden, in Longhirst, on Friday November 21st. She was 6 years old on the 28th Dec and is chipped. There has been (one week later), a significant sighting of her on a lead with a woman in Ashington. Please could you let me know if you have any knowledge, that would lead to us finding her and having her back home. She is a very loving and friendly dog. It is possible she could have been picked up on the road somewhere. If you have Sasha or know someone who has, please message me on facebook. Her owner is sick with worry and misses her so much. It was a very sad Xmas. We are not interested in asking questions, we just want her home where she belongs. She is a country dog, used to being outside in her large garden with her other dogs. She isn't used to a lead, streets, crowds or traffic. She also has an ear problem which needs regular attention. A reward will be given for information leading to her safe return. PLEASE HELP. We would be sincerely grateful for the slightest piece of info, however insignificant you may feel it is. - 2014-12-03 12:43 Maggie
