- Oh wow... that was tense! I was thinking about Frankie all day! Stayed up late last night hoping for the good news. Dog lovers ROCK! :D I wonder if there'll be anything in the local press about stange noises in Bussage.. :D Oh and I hope the Huskies got a treat too!Last edited: 2014-12-09 17:10:33 by BMdevon

- Well done..everyone came together last night to help. Stroud is a wonderful place. I would think that dog won't be needing a walk for about a week, he covered a huge number of miles yesterday at high speed and negotiated the A419 heaven knows how many times. A nice secure lead might be needed for that lovely but nervy little dog! Have a fabulous christmas with him x

- Many many thanks to those who helped us track frankie down. The support and advice we received was invaluable and we are truly grateful. We took Frankie to the vets at lunchtime and he has only superficial nicks and split pads and other than being exhausted he is fine and should be back to normal In a couple of days. Considering his adventures we think he has been a very lucky boy to have escaped so lightly. At least the people of bussage can sleep peacefully tonight without a crazy lady running round shrieking that ito time to go home for sausages (Frankie will do almost anything for sausages).

- me n my girl - I happened to be walking very close by on the common when Frankie went missing. There were quite a few other dogs around at that point, all seemed happy and waggy. One minute there was a whippet with a coat, the next he was gone. Nothing obvious happened to make him run and my guess is that he followed someone else with dogs, got lost/disorientated and simply panicked. It was less than a minute from him being there to it being noticed he was gone then there were quite a few of us looking for him immediately. Last edited: 2014-12-09 08:09:33 by NB

The Ram landlords are leaving food and blankets out
Franky owners have left item that will hopefully attract him to the pub
Fingers crossed he snuggles up now for the night, lots of ideal locations for him to sleep xxx - 2014-12-08 22:58 NB
- I am planning to be up there as early as I can tomorrow morning. Have not been able to help this eve but sounds like you guys have done everything humanly possible! What an amazing response! Fingers crossed he is found soon and, if not, that he finds a safe place to curl up for the night in his sheepskin coat and is a bit calmer and ready to be found in the morning.
- 2014-12-08 22:45 Jot cotswolds
- It is a very hard search up there ..myriad of tiny lanes, lots of dead ends...a total maze. It may not be easy to get him tonight. Villagers are probably wondering why wacky races seems to have been going for last few hr's..so many folk drove out to help in bitter cold.
- 2014-12-08 22:38 Jot cotswolds
- We got the message abt sighting 1min after it was posted..cars went tearing off down there. Myself and Paul have left the search at 10.30 ..lack of fuel and hypothermia (!). Praying this 10.21 sighting leads to good news. He is focused on road by ram inn bussage. Advised owners to leave clothing item by the bowl of food outside ram inn entranceLast edited: 2014-12-08 22:40:22 by Jot cotswolds

- If it was still around crackstone at 4pm it had been there since about 2pm..so may have tired and is hanging around. May have taken back Rd past Gatcombe towards Minchinhampton as an alternative to Avening direction. Woefuldane farm worth contacting...and the park home site at Hampton fields

- I saw this dog 1.30pm today haring up Hyde Hill....at least 3 cars tried to help but the dog was moving too fast...he seemed to have disappeared either before or at the top of the hill. I have just been another drive around for 30-40mins but couldn't spot him. he could have headed over the commons again or over towards Avening/Tetbury or over towards Cirencester. He seemed to be sticking to the tarmacced road rather than heading over grass. Worth alerting Gatcombe estate.

- rang and told owner about Found ID 79459 (sighted only )
- 2014-12-08 15:34 NB
- Frankie went missing whilst walking on Rodborough common this morning. There were lots of sightings initially along the Cirencester Road. He was then spotted on Hyde Hill and in fields near nearby (across the road from the Ragged Cot pub).
Last sighting was near Toadsmoor Road so he may be around Bussage/Brownshill/Brimscombe/Chalford/Eastcombe areas. However, he is moving very fast and is clearly panicked so may be further afield.
His owner is out looking for him and posters are going up in the areas he has been sighted this afternoon. Any help putting posters up and looking for him will be gratefully received!Last edited: 2014-12-08 15:36:19 by NB - 2014-12-08 15:16 Gino
