I am sorry but reading the later threads about Dave. Which actually I read a few times trying to figure out what VERONIQUE was on about in her long posting. Have I missed something here?? or am I to believe we have a vindictive P**S taking person in our midst. What is she doing on this site if she thinks so badly of it. Forgive me if I am wrong but I see no mention of Dave the missing puppy .Well not from a caring person anyway. Has she nothing better to do than come on here and criticise. I came on to see what progress had been made in getting this lovely pup back where he can be looked after properly. Stay safe sweetie. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree, Mel, if only the pictures could be publicised, we'd all know who to look out for! Where abouts was the van at the time? Presumably it couldn't be traced. Glad to hear Kizzy's mum and others were able to cover the market on Sat- there's nothing more frustrating than thinking you might have missed out on a vital clue. If only we knew more of the sorts of places to look when this happens, any more idea's? I really hope to see Dave in the blue soon-the local rag comes out tomorrow-maybe that will shed a little light. Fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just checking to see if there was any news about this vulnerable young pup that I now know is called Dave. He is such adorable puppy Dave is and would steal the rigth families heart who could give him the home ne needs and deserves. Might be worth contacting the local obedience clubs that hold puppy training classes and vets that hold puppy parites as in case he is registered. Sure you have already notified all the local vets should he be taken for his jabs/chip. Hope he is back in safe hands soonxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lyn, I am so sorry this awful thing has happened to you now. After all you have done to help so many dogs and all you did to try and help me find Poppy it just seems so dreadfully unfair. Its not the first time, either. Someone must know who did this, with footage of the van and the thieves, and plenty of publicity surely there is much hope that little Dave will be back with you soon. I am printing his poster out now and will drive round with it, but especially look in such places as markets, boot fairs and the dodgiest pubs you can find (though perhaps not alone-in the worst one I found near Brick Lane, someone almost drew a gun on me when looking for Poppy-it's now been shut down!). I called her name by all the vans parked near the markets in case she was stowed inside, looked under and behind the stalls and tables and asked shady looking characters if anyone knew where I might buy a dog. Of course the thieves move dogs around from site to site-fast, so it is important for helpers out of Essex to look for our dogs, too, but London still seems the most likely. Just in case Dave is dumped or escapes, its best to let all the dog rescue's, esp Battersea have a photo as he is not chipped. Good luck Lyn. Jo.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A good way to get peoples attention is to slip a note under the dogs collar sayingn I could have stolen this dog. Please don't leave it alone outside. More of a shock if they don't know who's left the note. Hope this little one is returned as soon as possible. Becky Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

totally agree roz its just up the road from me as well its scary as hell since being a dog lost helper ive become more aware of people especially around my dogs ,ive even drummed it into the kids as well and 1 being a teenager who dont listen is very wary of people who come up to us when we are out walking them chloe my 7 year old logs on here nearly every day if not everyday and looks out for lost dogs especially poppy the border collie ,shes right into doglost bless her and shes not a shy kid (like her mum not shy in coming forward) she would go upto people and tell them about dogs are going missing and dont leave them outside shops and in cars ,which in a way is good ,but sometimes she can say things like that dog looks like it needs a good dinner and she hasnt got the most delicate voice lol ,ive stood outside shops with peoples dogs before and explained to them about dog theft weather they take it in or not thats down to them but i do try ,but i cant imagine how this dog warden feels and yes i agree it must be hard to have 2 people in a van at all times perhaps this will shake up a new rule in the system ,lets hope and pray this little bundle is home soon and hope these youths are brought to justice ,Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's not always possible to avoid leaving your dog in a car but I hardly ever do it and only if I can always see the car. I saw the most adorable puppy in a car park in Harlow the other day just waiting innocently and it would definitley have attracted the wrong sort of person - I waited until the owners returned which was some time! I just couldn't leave it there like a sitting duck. I understand with Dog Wardens it's pretty impossible as they are collecting dogs all day and it would be difficult to have two people there all the time though I agree that would be the best solution. It's so scary that this has happened in the next town to me - it seems to be happening everywhere. I do hope he's back in safe hands very soon come home darling XXX Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jayne for mentioning that the van was on CCTV. I hope and pray that now they might have some sort of description of the youths something can be done to track them down. Finger prints etc. I am sorry for my comments earlier but I just get so upset with the amount of dogs getting into the wrong hands. I am so careful and cautious. But like I mentioned I don't suppose you ever think it will happen. Glad the doors was locked but needless to say, it didn't do anything to deter the youths from stealing the poor innocent pup. I only hope and pray that it is found soon. I just would not have left the van unattended with dogs in there, you can never ever trust passers by. I don't blame the warden, he/she must be feeling terrible, there ought to be rules within the proffession that states never to leave animals alone in the van, or if you have several journeys to make for an example to have another person accompany you. I just don't know what this world is coming to. Everything is getting worse by the day. The lost pup is what matter's NOW. Let's hope someone down the market is in the right place at the right time. Love to see this llittle chap in the blue soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is just awlful, outrageous and sick. What idiotic careless, heartless, stupid person would do such a thing, what is this world coming to? I am so worried that the puppy will be abandoned once the ???? realises it's blind. Why wasn't the van locked or supervised/left unattended? I know it can't be helped it's a dog wardens job, but knowing what today's society is like, I don't suppose you ever think it would happen to you, but, I NEVER EVER leave my 3 dogs outside a shop or in the car alone. NEVER. I'm sorry but I don't trust anyone when it comes to my dogs. I hope this poor innocent little helpless pup is found soon and given the care and attention required for it to live a happy long life , bless, praying that it is found soon and a new home quickly to get over being in the wrong hands!! Stay safe precious baby. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well!! the thieving SCUMBAGS cannot stoop any lower. First we read of a blind mans lifeline, his beloved dog being stolen ,and now this. It makes me ashamed to be British if these are the kind of people living in our midst. The nerve to steal from a dog wardens van. I hope and pray this poor baby can be found, before the B*****DS realise his predictament and abandon him just anywhere ,when the poor little dear is helpless to fend for himself.Catch them and blindfold and gag them and dump them ,preferably at the top of a cliff. I think I have said enough now as I feel sick that these people are getting away with it. Stay safe pretty baby. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not very likely that a blind puppy would have a great deal of commercial value when offered for sale, so could be dumped once the thief realises the pup cannot see. Hope the pup is recovered quickly.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
