Hi just to let you know that i put laminated posters up last week in the Bideford area....The Quay,Bideford , Atlantic Village, Plymco, RGBs (Bideford)...and phoned relatives in Bradworthy area and they were checking around that area . Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Absolutely, Jan. Now there's Zanti the springer gone missing from Buckland Brewer. I think both owners should combine forces. It's such a rural area and covering it all is so difficult.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No offence intended Nik (sometimes things get 'lost in the translation' hey what!!). And yes, looking at Mapquest for this farm, I'd not have thought it 'close' to Bideford it has to be said. I just latched onto gypsies leaving that area, and some turning up down the road from here, and then reading the sequence of posts on here jumped to a (wrong) conclusion .... It's raining again now, and I'm just sitting here thinking about Meg, Floyd and not the least, that poor Basset bitch up in Leicester. Hope at least one of these has found a fireside to sit by, even if that doesn't help their distraught owners much!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This sighting sounds geographically logical. BassetsRUS, 11 miles is a long way when you're trying to pinpoint the position on a map in case you have to give out information to the media !!!!! Comment wasn't re travellers but in relation to location on poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am with Weimaraner Club of GB Rescue and I have a dog in kennels which is very nervous, he was picked up from an animal sanctuary, where he had been dumped. He is around 1-2 years old. If anyone has a pic of the dog that is missing I will see if it matches! LynnLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for all your help.Anything is worth inveatigating as regards to the gypsies. All the farms etc in the area have been fully investigated and farmers have been very helpfull. I believe that they have assured the owners that he has not been shot or anything on there land as he is one of three dogs which the ownershave i think yhe Gypsie theory is the most likley. If any one in the area could take a look it would be great. he is chipped and i think there is a reward offerd. Any news.i can be contacted on 01237 451786.and i will relay any messages to the owners. the contact number on his details belongs to a relative.and he is weraing an out of date tag so i presume is chip dtails would be as well. Thanks Jean MayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Actually Nik, Beaford is only 11 miles from Bideford. And x-country it's not that far to Clovelly either. It has been suggested that gypsies living in the area of his home had moved on, shortly after he went missing - gypsies have just moved into a layby locally here = it was worth bringing up!!? And I do believe that anything is worth investigation.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Come home soon Floyd. I have added his details to my forum Find Missing Dogs (http://findmissingdogs.proboards67.com/index.cgi) & to TRPD Pet Craft Project. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is nowhere near Bideford - it's the south of the A39 on the way to Clovelly !! However, it is very remote and I am assuming that the surrounding farms all know. I would suggest posters go out to towns with market days and auctions and say, Clovelly visitor centre and Atlantic Shopping Village. I'm assuming that the usual post/bin/milk/bus people etc have been told. Ideally, to create awareness it would be best to use local press and radio.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Noticed some gypsies moved into a layby on the side of the road just south of Beaford, right hand side going south (main Beaford-Winkleigh road) when I went down to collect dog food this morning. Only two or three vans. I drove past slowly as I was thinking about Meg. Didn't see any sign of any dogs with them though. In view of this latest information, I will check again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

floyd went missing from his home which is dyers farm parkham whic is quite remote. have spoken to the oeners and apparently there where gypsies camoing in the area who moved the day after so he could be in another area by now. just a possibility though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yep - I was wondering about the location too ....... we go up to Bideford from Torrington fairly regularly so can keep a look out. The area he went from would be helpful though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
