Thank you shane2006. It was due to the fabulous team effort of everybody involved. I like happy endings! :)

Good to know he has been reunited and well done to Lostdog.UK.com, think your name is Kim.

I am so relieved that he has found his owner. I saw the poster for the first time today as I walked at Avon Heath Country Park. Do we know how he came to be lost? Thanks to the people who postered and made him public news.

Have been trying to get confirmation from Lostdogs.co.uk as was aware she was following up a possible lead earlier today ..... Fingers crossed, am hoping it is the good news it appears to be x

Is this dog reunited with it's original owner? If not, should it not stay under Found dogs in case any one is looking? So glad he has a place to go to if needed.

I tried to catch this dog last Sunday (14th) with a neighbour.,he said the dog had walked up Muscliffe Lane(BH9) on Sunday 14th around 1pm , he ran off and although I drove around in my car he had disappeared. I am so very pleased he has found a home with you he looked so frightened and poorly.
shane2006
That is good to know he could have a furever home with you, only interested because we had a white girl and had to have her pts a year ago, still have five though. Keep us updated please Kim.

They wanted to put him in kennels shane2006, but right now he needs a loving home. He's really got his paws firmly under the table already, along with our other furkids. Their needs come first in our house. I think it's inevitable that he will stay with us if his owner doesn't come forward as he is happy in our pack already. You would think he has been here forever - a complete change to what he was like when we caught him! Bless his furry paws! Last edited: 2014-12-20 21:04:44 by Lostdog.UK.com

That is so good of you Kim to look after him, otherwise he would be in a kennel somewhere, you are all he has got at the moment and that is why he trust you. If he is on a mission as you say he may want to find an escape route so don't worry about any freedom and be careful if anyone leaves a door open encase he makes a bolt for it. Would you keep him if no owner comes forward?

Bazil, I think he knows that I genuinely want to help him as we didn't give up on him yesterday even when he showed his teeth and growled at us to 'back off' in the forest. He's laying next to me on the sofa as I type, with his head on my lap looking up at me :) I think he wants me to put my iPad down so he can enjoy some kipping after his dinner and pizzle. Lol

Yes Snowball. I have been in contact with 77114 and it's not him x

I'm impressed if the dog totally trusts you already. I hope the groomer only hand cuts the matted fur, he will feel better once that is removed, certainly wouldn't use clippers. Hope his family can be found for him.
Snowball
Has he been cross checked with 77114?

Jenny4, If anyone is able to put posters around the area, that would be fantastic. We followed a lead to one of the caravan parks this afternoon, but unfortunately, to no avail. The man with the White GSD had her with him. Still, it gave us a chance to show 'charlie' off and spread the word. We also visited Hurn Post Office and they have said they will display a poster for him.

He is going to the groomer (who incidentally specialises in rescues) for his own wellbeing. Poor lad can't move his back legs properly due to the severe matting being so close to his skin. He is a good boy and trusts me already. I have no doubt this is the best thing for him. His needs come first!

I would re-think taking him to a groomer right now...too anxious and jumpy for more trauma than he's already had. Professional grooming is not a priority right now, he needs to be somewhere calm to enable him to settle and relax and you need to gain his trust. He needs no chances to escape/get loose while he is so frightened...another reason not to put him into a groomers - it will totally spook him unnecessarily.

Hy Kim has anyone put posters in Boundry Lane dog walking area?Might be a good idea not everyone knows about doglost.....also there are a few caravan parks along there too maybe a poster or two there also x

Thank you to everyone who is helping. I am the lady who found him, and who is taking care of him at the moment. He had a check with our vet yesterday and is believed to be around 4-5 years old. No chip was showing, and they felt he may have been out for a little while due to the condition of his matted coat. He is a wonderfully loving boy who can sit and give his paw on command. It is planned for him to see a professional groomer this weekend. He seems on a mission to find someone he is missing, so please help me find his owner as I am unable to give him any freedom off a harness as I feel he would run away. Thank you , Kim x

Thank you missmissteapot for registering this lad here and thanks too to Kim Ware who I know spent hours trying to catch him yesterday and taking him to the vets to check for a chip
I understand the vet believes he may have been roaming a while
