- I have bumped into the man who caught this dog, which he is now looking after - he reported it to the dog warden who was happy for him to look after it whilst they try and find the owner. It is microchipped to an address in Salisbury which he has visited (it's a business address very near by) and he has been to the vets it is registered with and given them his details, but it hasn't been reported missing. It is a male and very young and definaltly had no training. There is a traveller site just opposite this field so I expect this little lad has been dumped. I will see if I can get a picture next time I see him. Last edited: 2015-01-11 23:17:50 by Jenny B

Updated to include CHIHUAHUA in name. Good point re dog warden, there was nothing about this dog when I checked, but that was 6/1/15 - 2015-01-06 22:04 Jenny B
- Maybe worth a try, not sure when they managed to catch the dog, the dog walker said it was now with the warden and unclaimed. Will try and find out more if that helps.

- Would the Dog Warden give more details of the dog they now have if someone called them? or perhaps allow a Doglost representative to call the Holding Kennel it was taken to i.e. if it has a chip, markings, sex, size etc? Time will be running out now. Also wondering if it is worth changing the breed to Chihuahua Cross, as I looked for Chihuahua Cross in the lost pages and there is one from Wales around that time (thinking of the travellers camp close by, salisbury is just up the M4..)Last edited: 2015-01-06 19:16:19 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

- I bumped into a dogwalker this morning who said this little dog had now been caught (took ages!) and is now unclaimed with the dog warden. Its a chuihuwa terrier cross (spelt wrong!).

- I have been up in the field this morning but no sight of the dog. I have put up some posters for the missing Manchester terrier. I will be up there again tomorrow so I will keep an eye out - sorry. There is a traveller site opposite the field, maybe it was one of their dogs which couldn't get back across the main road.

- Fingers crossed. A silly question but if it is still running loose on Monday how do you go about catching it in such a large space? It was running towards us and running away but not close enough to catch. Although I guess it will be exhausted by now.

- brilliant , dont know if there is any news on the Manchester terrier , the owner was going to look in the field today x
- 2014-12-21 17:25 Jenny B
- Will do, I will be out there every morning walking with my dogs so I will have a good look and pass the word around, as well as posters - posters of both found and lost dog or just the lost one?

- HERE IS THE CONVERSATION ABOUT THIS DOG that was posted onto a Lost Dogs page, owner doesn't think its her dog so Jenny has set up this FOUND page:
Jennyb: In light of the owner of this dogs thoughts, please can you set the sighted dog up as a "found". I don't think we can discount the dog as not this one as someone else could have picked her up and fitted a coller and then either lost or released her. However, it is also probable that we are dealing with another dog. Thanks for all your help.

If you come in from the salisbury side (so the hospital will be on your left),once it changes to national speed limit up the hill there is a layby on the righthand side where you can park. There is a large red farm gate a little further up on the right which leads into a massive field (about 2 miles all the way around the outside). The dog was in the crop running up and down the right hand side of the field, up to the point where the path cuts accross the field. I work at the weekends but will go back up on Monday.

i live in Breamore but dont know that area very well, is it opposite the main hospital ? I can get down there in the morning but need some direction x
Edit2014-12-20 18:16 jennyb
I'm happy to put some up on Monday, i will be there again with my dogs,.i have passed the word around. A friend of mine said the dog was still running up and down at 3pm yesterday, we saw it at 9:30ish, which is a bit worrying.
Edit2014-12-20 12:43 DogLost Volunteerjenny4
Anyone nearer than me able to get a couple of posters out there just in case? Someone may have picked her up and put a collar on her so cant discount its not her x

I have spoken to the owner, hers went missing without a collar on so she doesnt think its hers. This one had a red collar on. I will still keep an eye out for it and have passed the word around, just incase its still running loose. Hope the dog warden managed to catch it.

Jennyb: Is it OK for me to pass your contact details to owner?
Edit2014-12-19 23:14 jennyb
Thank you. If you need anymore info please contact me. Fingers crossed. The dog seemed very distressed and very scared. Did point it out to other dog walkers who were going to try and catch it but is was really keeping right out in the centre of the field. I believe 'The Vets' called the dog warden directly. It was only talking to a friend who informed me a terrier type dog had gone missing from Bowerchalke otherwise I would have let you know sooner.
