- So pleased for you. I was just seeing what I could do to help. Wonderful. I love the new photo and I can't get over how much he looks like a Grand. We must get Nivernais on the breed list.

- Piper has been found! Just heard that Piper was picked up Saturday night by the Mersey Tunnel police ..... he was trying to go over to Liverpool without paying the toll!! He's in the pound until tomorrow morning - hope it gives him time to reflect on his misdemeanours :-))

- Thank you for clarifying breed, very unusual in this country and Piper has more white on him than the usual grizzle colour. Please contact Network Rail to look out for a dog near the line and make sure that all the rescues and dog warden have a photo or very good description of Piper as he probably won't be recognized as a breed. Posters up everywhere will help to get sightings called in. Sorry I am too far away to help but I hope you find him safe and well. Can scenting instructions be sent to Dawn would be helpful as Piper is a scenthound !

- People have also thought he was a Spinone...very like the Grand Bassett Griffon Vendée facially but taller. Upright on his back legs he is 5' tall!Last edited: 2014-12-22 06:58:55 by Dawn

- Hello, thanks for your comments. Piper is a Griffon Nivernais, but you don't have that on this website. However, although he is typical in personality - gentle, he is also a nervous dog and must be approached quietly. Motivated by food. Especially after 36 hrs on the road.

- SuzeeBee and I discussed the fact that we thought Piper was a Grand BGV earlier. Nothing like a Bruxellois, but thought I'd ask BGV Club colleagues for their opinion. I'm going to change the breed in the interests of finding Piper as the club secretary also says Grand.

- Suzeebee you are right, def not griffon bruxellois. Could well be a long legged Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen. There are a few about.
- 2014-12-21 22:04 SuzeeBee
- This dog is nothing like any Griffon Bruxellois I have ever seen. Can owner confirm breed, He looks more like a Grand Griffon or a Briquet Griffon Vendeen. I hope as he hates noise he will keep well away from those busy roads and the railway line. Posters are the key to getting the sightings coming in. Stay safe Piper.

- We've only been in the area a week, so the dog doesn't know his way around. He could be wandering. He hates traffic, loud noises, so is more likely to be off the beaten track.
