If only they could talk, eh! Well done all those people involved in her rescue and for helping the humans too. There ARE some lovely people about, usually brought together by a love of dogs, I find. Welcome home Ella, hope your leg isn't too painful.
Holly
So glad Ella encountered some lovely people on her travels, she needed them! She is a tough little dog and I hope you and your family and Ella have a Happy New Year!
Tillman
Hi Ella is finally home. Not unscathed. She had a broken leg which has been fixed up by South Moor vets in Devon. Thanks to them. And thank you to everyone for all your support, kind wishes, advice and help. Specially Sally and hubbie and friends, Chris, caretaker at Soar Mill Cove who found Ella and Keith and Jenny owners of Soar Mill Cove who drove Ella to the vets and put my husband and son up last night. Beyond the call but very very welcome. She's a very brave and tough little dog. It has truly made us as a family very grateful for people's kindness. Happy New Year. Tillmans from the IOW. Xx

Great news, just the type of message I like to get :) Thank you Sally from Border Terrier Welfare for being such a big help to Ella's family x

Wow how lucky was she?! I've known the area well since I was 10 (a long time ago!) as my grandparents and then parents retired there. That path is stunning but quite dangerous for dogs as it's easy to fall off if chasing something and there are some very sheer drops... So glad she was found, did she make her own way to Soar Mill?

Absolutely brilliant news - very well done Soar Mill Cove Hotel
Sally
Ella has now been found - fantastic news. Safely with the Soar Mill Cove Hotel
Sally
from the information given I would say that the area she went missing is around Starehole Bay
Sally
I'm still contacting everyone I know in the area - including a friend who is a coastguard. The owner was going to phone the Harbour Master to ask local fishermen to scan the cliff ledges as they go out to sea. I spoke to a local farmer yesterday and we stopped everyone we met and asked them to look out for her and spread the word. Owner was also going to contact local hotels etc that I could think of along that route. I'll deliver posters etc as soon as I can to all relevant areas

Great that you've got her in the paper and people to help with the search. Lack of sighting means we still have to suspect all eventualities and Ella could be anywhere. Please everyone, keep spreading the word in case she has been picked up, keep looking where she went missing in case she's still there. As said they are a tough breed, so that is encouraging.

Tillman, Border Terriers are very tough little dogs (I have one) and very good at surviving. Just search this site for reunited BTs and you'll see how long some of them have coped when missing. Don't lose heart. Over the Christmas period maybe people haven't been going on their usual walks, but now things will be getting back to normal and hopefully Ella will show herself. Have you considered getting in a tracker dog? It may be a bit late for a good scent now, but worth making contact with someone (I recommend Jenny & Tiga) so once there is a sighting you are ready to follow it up.
Tillman
Hi. Thanks to Sally and hubbie and friends for trying to find Ella yesterday. I have rung everyone I can think of twice and Ella will be in the Kingsbridge Gazette this week. She has been missing 8 days now and I really don't know what to think mainly because there are no sightings. Want to keep positive but it's tough.

Bless you Sally - pushing again on FB BT pages, let's hope she's home soon

have you contacted all the Dog Wardens and vets in the area? Her chip will ring to your home is there anybody there?Get hold of the microchip company and report her lost ,,,,,,,, also contact the Life boats and any fishing vessels and ask them to keep a look out incase she has fell onto a ledge...its doubtful but worth asking them, get tons of posters out hopefully someone has picked her up and keeping her safe xx
