Have just been up to visit the gorgeous Honey and her lovely owners. Reunited photos on her now but you will need to refresh the page a couple of times to see them.
Honey is a little foot sore and understandably tired but otherwise fine, being spoilt by the family. Hopefully they will all be able to get some well earned rest now.
We had so many people helping yesterday and today, including our local Street Wardens, veterinary staff, Dog Wardens and Doglost helpers as well as loads of local dog lovers. Everybody has been fantastic and the family thank you all. Last edited: 2014-12-28 15:44:11 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

FOUND! Honey is back with her owner!
I'm so pleased she has been found safe and sound.

Special thanks to her finder who took her in this morning and rang her owners immediately. Seems Honey had been out all night and managed to stay out of sight of all the searchers!

Many, many thanks to all who have given up their time to look for this young dog and who were out all day yesterday .. some until very late at night. You are all stars!

If anyone wants to become Doglost helpers pls go to our main page on this site and click on 'join us' .. you will see a short form to fill in.
Then you will get email alerts when a dog goes missing in this area. You can do as little or as much as you like. Even if you are just sharing on Fbk it really helps!!

WELL DONE Team Honey!!

Hi everyone and once again many, many thanks for all the help and support for Honey's owners who understandably are distraught. Searches have been going on since early morning but still no sign so the co-ordinated search is on.
If you are able to please meet outside Hastings Station at 11am.
If you can bring as many posters (you can print them direct from the poster page on here) then that would be great. You can reduce them down to A5 size which are good for putting through letterboxes and handing to people as you search.

When searching please do not call her name too much and wait for her to respond if you do call her name. We do not want to confuse her.
Search in places that Honey could hide .. under bushes, behind /in sheds, garages, people's gardens (with permission of course!) in undergrowth, ditches etc.
Give posters to everyone please! Into shops, letterboxes on the route you are searching, taxi drivers .. anyone and everyone!
We need a sighting and poster usually bring them in.

**** If anyone sees Honey please remember to stay calm.
Call the owners (numbers are on the poster) as soon as you see Honey.
Keep Honey in sight and only call her in a very quiet voice (if she is scared she may not want to come to you)
Crouch down, drop food a little distance from her, do not approach her, just see if she will come to you. If she does, then do the same again until she is confident enough to come close.
If not, please do not chase her .. just keep her in sight and follow her to keep track of her.
The idea is to keep her in the area until her owners can get to you.

Special thanks to one of our Street Wardens who has also been searching since early this morning .. her bosses have said that she can join in with us for the search today so thanks to them too.

If someone has taken Honey in to safety they may not know that it is required by law to report finding a dog .. or that the Dog Wardens are a 24/7 service. They may not be on Fbk either so they would not know about the multitude of people looking for her.
However, if they get a poster through the door they will do one of 2 things .. report finding her straight away or get scared, thinking they are in trouble, andjust put her outside again.
So even if someone has her at the moment it is still very important to keep searching.

All there is to say now is GOOD LUCK today!

bigbird
Have pasted on info to bexhill group , they will be keeping there eyes peeled will help find her fingers crossed.
Shelagh
Good luck guys in search today. Stay safe sweet Honey till they find you

Just got back, Drove down St Helens rd, Braybrooke, Cambridge rd, Falaise gardens, Warrior Square, White Rock, Cornwallis gdns, Station ( had a look through fence into underground car park under College) Lower Park rd, St Helens rd..
Lots of communication from members on Hastjngs Dog Lovers fb page as to all the different areas everyone is searching ...
ALI
we have been out driving tonight along Harley Shute to churchwood, tilebarn road through Hollington and onto warrior square returning home via the high rise flats.....no sign I'm afraid, my daughter is going to try and join the search tomorrow but we have no working facilities to print posters at the moment
Tracy
Have looked on the beach at Glyne Gap and then down to Stamco. Searched in Warrior Square, through the Town Centre and down to the Old Town sea front. Back up to Hastings station, to the Oval and then through Hollington. No sign I'm afraid.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Already people are saying they will help with search tomorrow Sunday ..
PLEASE would anyone coming print some posters so that they can be handed out to people while you are searching. We know that POSTER POWER works .. it really is the way to get sightings come in and that will let us know which area Honey is in.
So please POSTER, POSTER and POSTER some more .. even if you can only do one and put it in your road or car window it will help get the word around.
Thanks!

Thanks to Hastings Dog Lovers page on Fbk some more people have gone out looking tonight .. can't thank them enough as it's already cold out there.
I'm trying to get out of visiting relatives tomorrow so I can join the search but not sure it will be possible. Will chat to owners before then if I can't make it. Last edited: 2014-12-27 19:27:41 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Thanks Jayne. .. and thanks again to all who are helping search for this young dog.
Cathy: I saw a Transport Police officer this evening and gave him a poster sp hopefully he will have told colleagues. Owners said they have been into station and informed Network Rail.
Tracy
We will drive down to the seafront now, go along to Glyne Gap and then back through Hastings.
ALI
email received following text from TK, have been down near white rock today but no sign of her, am happy to drive round Hollington a bit tonight if that helps - is there a particular road she comes from or maybe heading back to?
Dog WardenCathy
I suggested earlier that they transport police are contacted. Not sure if this has been done!

Hi yes we would like to organise a search if possible at Hastings station at 11am please let us know if you can make it. We are so grateful thank you.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Lots of people have been searching today and still no sign.
Owners going back down to town to search again as it is quieter now.

We need to get lots of posters out all over Hastings, St. Leonards, Old Town and Hollington area please.

Thanks Tracy
kookixx If you want a co-ordinated search then please ask us on this page so it can be organised .. just say where and when.

It's also possible someone has taken Honey in and has not reported finding her, which is required by law. Our Dog Wardens are really good in this area and they operate a 24hr 7 day a week service so please call the if you have Honey safe with you. Thanks. Tracy
Is there anything we can do to help? Is there a co-ordinated search for Honey?
DogLostSpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Ah poor little mite, only 7 months old.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks so much to all have commented on here and who are helping search for young Honey.
I spoke to kookixx earlier and Honey is only 7 months old .. lives in the Hollington area so it's possible she may make her way back in that direction. I also explained that dogs often go back to where they are lost from or to places that are familiar to them.
Please keep sharing this link .. over 230 already so that's great. Thanks!

I printed a few posters and have been for a drive around Warrior Sq., the roads around Alexandra Park, had a quick look at the Oval and then drove up to Carpenters Drive/Tescos area .. giving posters out to anyone who was around. Met a Transport Police Officer and the person who locks the gates/loos up at Alex. Pk so they will also keep an eye open for your girl too.

I would suggest you get as many posters printed as possible and get them to anywhere and everywhere you can.. give them to everyone you talk to. That way you should get some sightings come in and you will know roughly where Honey is going.
Rest assured that most dogs lost in Hastings area are found reasonably quickly and handed to our Dog Warden so do keep in touch with them and also make sure you have notified the local vets in case someone takes Honey in to be checked for a microchip.

Just need a more up to date sighting now so kookixx and family can find Honey.
I'm going to be in Brighton tomorrow so won't be able to search but I know we have a fantastic team here and you are doing everything right to find your girl. Last edited: 2014-12-27 17:40:22 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
