what a lovely reunited picture! Joanne texted me late last night and it was such a lovely text to read. It also shows that not everyone knows about the Dog Warden or has a PC. Well done to this kind, kind man. Lady is the third dog with a disability that has been stolen and dumped in the last few months (I suppose when they realise the dog isn't worth anything). They are home too. So happy I could cry!!!!

Fantastic news. Sometimes you get a feeling that its all going to end badly and I'm so happy to have been completely wrong. Her age and condition were against her but you can't legislate for kindly people taking dogs in. Shows how powerful postering and advertising is that she is now home :)

I know that lady was seen with 2men, but I presume the brother in laws checked his garden, greenhouse and shed, if relevant. Have his neighbours been asked to check their gardens etc or maybe one them has taken her in, so maybe a leaflet drop in that area would help find her.

Perhaps as with Mickey (blind dog) and 3 legged dog, Lady dumped when realised she was old. Perhaps Finders are kind and unaware of Dog Warden. I tweeted Ricky gervais. Perhaps we need to set up Polish translated posters... can anyone help? Add If a large polish community can anyone translate a poster to include:

I spoke with owner; Details:21 year old Lady’s Mum was away and was looked after by her brother in law. Lady never goes into the garden alone. The brother in law had to go back into the house and when he returned, Lady was gone.

Can we look at this from another angle? People sometimes pick up and keep elderly dogs or dogs in poor condition who have been wandering a while, and think they are dumped by uncaring owners. And then they don't tell anyone in case the dog is taken away and euthanised. There was an incident some years ago in Wales when I found a spaniel playing with traffic. She had mobile number on collar but no answer. So I tried to put her in my car to take her to my vet, as I knew they would hold her and keep trying the number, and scan for chip to get other details. But 2 ladies took her off me and took her to the police station. They assumed I was stealing her to sell on and were rather nasty. So we have to be careful about assumptions especially where there may be language misunderstandings.

What are the circumstances of Lady going missing?....if it was definitely her seen with the east europeans then were the details of the car taken.... the shop will have cctv outside can that not be checked? xx

Have the police been told about this dog being stolen, and seen with two Eastern Europeans. The police in this area are aware of men stealing dogs, and have an efit picture of a suspect so maybe if owner could see this and speak to police she maybe able to confirm if it was the same person. Also saw on another website a roofing van photographed in this area that's suspected in dog theft. Need to make her too hot to handle emphasising her age etc and disabilities. Maybe radio and don't forget schools return back this week so tell as many youngsters as possible.

I've just been told by Lady's owner that she was seen today, 6th January with two polish/Eastern European men. When confronted they put her into a car. Outside the coop on Holmewood Estate Bradford :(

I cannot see she would have gone far so maybe picked up but perhaps unaware she belongs to someone or can be taken to the vet. Someone found there kitty by delivering posters door to door and asking to check gardens. Was she wearing a collar? Also, people could have been visiting the area for New Year and travelled home with her. Check B&bs, Travelodge too. Lots dogs hide under sheds, bushes...Also she may have picked up scent from a walk? And check Highway Agencies etc. I would not have called her a border collie so could be listed as anything. Can the rotti be used to pick up her scent? I made up some flyers and emailed them to the owner yesterday. The family are all out searching today and knocking doors. I was also informed that Lady is a Border collie cross / Alsatian.

Tried to call owner but it went to voicemail. I have made up some flyers and emailed them to her along with some advice. Also suggested she visits rescue centres as Lady does not look like an average Border Collie and they may not match her up to the description given.

I would suggest making small flyers and dropping door to door, asking people to check gardens and sheds but also asking them to be vigilant if they feed the birds. If Lady is about, bird food is what she will be scavenging.
