- What an amazing story, with a very happy ending. I can't imagine how it must have felt, slipping that lead over her head and knowing you'd got her back at last Elizabeth LW. What a star! Brilliant job done by all the other searchers, both human and canine.

- Nicki Mark & I cannot begin to express our deep joy that Whisper decided to lay down her feral life and come for help. With so much gratitude to everyone who helped and who did not only the drive by searches but the necessary boring stuff like mobbing dog walkers with info slips, putting up posters and planning, begging for folks to share: for a truly united group of dedicated people who went out daily and nightly, thank you. Whisper was between point 9 and 15 behind the primrose Vale fruit farm. The lovely tri coloured colli Boomer sented her down a path , she was about for a while and we were about to return when she popped her head out from near a stable block . Boomer and his gentle handler retreated after throwing corned beef. I sat down and looked away, let my spotty off the lead, he started to putsy around eating corned beef, she watched him and thought it was probably safe if he thought it was safe and she slowly came nearer for tit bits on the ground, she then circled round me and took some beef from my hand and i slipped the slip lead on, another on her collar, her some more then carried her back to the van. the fruit farm staff were thrilled to see two spotties coming towards them. Jenners put in all hours Jenny k9 and Tiga tracked for hours and they too deserve all thanks as do all of you. Whisper is thinner but just as sweet, she was very thirsty despite lots of streams and puddles having been available. She is sleeping a lot. Good night from Whisper and thanks a million times to you all for your concern.

- I know I've been answering the phone and following this madam around for a week, but today I was tied up with other things, and missed all the excitement. Elizabeth was instrumental in the capture and I am sure she will update later, for now she has one tired Wispa on her lap and is hand feeding her small amounts of ham and cheese, I am looking forward to popping along later for my well overdue cuddle.
I can not thank everyone enough for taking the time to share her poster, walking the streets and fields, ringing in with sightings, and following her trying to tempt her to safety. I have tried to personally message everyone I have spoken too, but I am sure to have missed some, also for the lovely man out jogging yesterday who I believe was called Steve, I picked him up but he didn't leave me his number, my bedraggled wet look must have put him off LOL.
Keep safe now little Wispa, it'll be a long time before I put 101 Dalmatians on again, DogLost and Team Wispa rock xxx - 2015-01-13 17:36 ClaireC

- It may be worth reminding newcomers that Whispa is an ex-dog farm bitch who was being rehabilitated in preparation for finding a suitable home. With the exception of Elizabeth and possibly one or two others she distrusts people. So if you do see her, please report the sighting but, also, try to resist any temptation to follow her or entice her to come to you. Last edited: 2015-01-13 11:25:21 by Cotswold Mike

- Hi, I was looking at the sightings map and wondered if you'd given any posters out to Endsleigh employees? Their bldg looks out onto fields and someone might just be looking out of the window and spot Whisper. I do hope you catch her soon. I drive through Shurdington and Leckhampton weekdays and will keep a look out for her. Good luck!
- 2015-01-12 19:59 Elizabeth L - W
- Very grateful to people who have put posters up. 2 requests, 1, please make a list of where your posters are so at the conclusion, let's hope we have one, they can be taken down to keep the locals happy. 2, today there was a poster flapping from a wooden post with masking tape, I have learn't by the experts that the plastic coated coloured drawing pins and the use of a light hammer is the best to secure to wooden structures. I could not repair the poster today but it was on or near dog lane, can not remember exactly. Agree with Jenners, a trap would be useless at this stage, she runs so fast and is eating natures foods like horse manure in the area and water in plentiful supply. Many thanks to everyone we met out today, so near yet so far.

- Come on Wispa...everyone wants you home right now!!! x
- 2015-01-12 18:25 Jenners - Area Volunteer, Gloucestershire
- Ullenwood Court Estate have posters and as they saw her run through they know what we are up against. A trap is only any use if we know where she is resting or eating otherwise she will run straight past it, she ran past food today, she is living on her instinct and that is to get away from us humans. She is able to cover long distances very quickly, there doesn't seem to be any thought to where she is going, just the closest route of escape, but watching her and mapping her she seems to like to turn left.
- 2015-01-12 17:13 Jack Russell
- following the sightings earlier we have put posters up at greenway hotel and spa, greenway nursery and along greenway lane. we put two more posters up at crickley hill and handed out slips to every dog walker we saw. the wardens are aware she is missing and they took another poster to keep in their land rover (they already have one in the office)
- 2015-01-12 17:01 ShabsN
- Today I have driven along A417,along past crickley hill&down towards Leckhampton. Turned round&back up to the air balloon, royal George Birdlip, witcombe, , Hucclecote, thro to churchdown, up to st bartholomews church on chosen hill, thro to Brockworth, back up the A417 along past crickley hill&down to Leckhampton again. Not a sighting of her :-( But I saw lots of posters up.
- 2015-01-12 16:38 Siany
- I'm sorry it's days late, but I have only read the poster, now joined dog lost..
I'm positive I saw her on the 6th jan, whilst doing school run to church down through the lane. It's was 8 am, and I saw her just standing in the field, I looked to see if I could see humans with her, but she was definately alone, by the time I'd turned round and returned, she had gone, I didn't see her on any roads, so can only assumes he is covering distance by the fields. I hope you find her x - 2015-01-12 16:23 katie c
- Have you tried putting an item of your clothing in the area that she has been spotted a familiar scent may draw her to it x
- 2015-01-12 16:23 Springer sharon
- Maybe time for a trap now

- Lots of sightings, from Crickley Hill along Leckhampton Rd into Ullenwood Estates, out the back of there in to Greenway Lane, right down the hill into the Greenway stables, back out onto farm land, heading towards Witcombe and now possibly back up,the slopes of Crikley Hill. I am going to nickname her Benny Hill she has a trail of people behind her. If you are in these areas and can somehow try and tempt her into a barn, stable or something, I think it is our only chance of getting her, she is not allowing anyone near. Thank you everyone for all your help, all the phone calls, people trying to catch her, the updates, it is so frustrating she just seems to want to run

- I've walked the fields off Brockworth Road this morning, Severn Trent are working right by a sighting spot, with traffic lights, I've spoken to them, given them a poster, they will be here all day. Fresh dog and fox poo in the fields, didn't see a soul though. I have to pop to Swindon now but will be back later to check where I've left food.

- 2015-01-12 08:27 Nicki
- Back to work for me today after being so poorly last week. Will be back out tonight having another look. Keeping hope that it was her last night in the field and that she is hungry enough to enjoy Jenners smelly cooking later, if I saw those eyes once last night when I closed my eyes i saw them a hundred times. Thank you #teamwhisper
- 2015-01-12 00:10 Jenners - Area Volunteer, Gloucestershire
- Well no confirmed sightings today, but this evening someone posted on a thread on FB that they had seen her heading to Gloucester Business Park, but didn't give any date or time, and Nicki drove around but there was no sign. I was out just covering the sighting areas and bumped into Nicki on Brockworth Road, she had stopped as she saw eye reflections in a field Wispa has been spotted in. We too saw the eyes, they were green so could have been a dog, we do have night vision but couldn't make out what the animal was, so Damon and I walked over to get a closer look. I have come up against foxes and deer before and they have all disappeared quick when approached, these eyes didn't, I must have been 30' away before it bolted through a gap in the fence and into thick overgrown area. All the time it was impossible to make out what it was due to the strong reflection of the eyes, but certainly size wise it could have been Wispa, once in the undergrowth it looked back at me before it disappeared. I am going to leave food there tomorrow and see if it comes back.
Thank you everyone who has been out looking, phoning with sightings, sharing her info, the more people that know about her, the better the chance of finding her. I appreciate how frustrating it is that she is still out there, but catching a scared, fit and healthy dog is never going to be easy, and given the area she is in it makes it 10 times harder. We are getting sightings, she is running around quite happily so it doesn't look like she is suffering from her adventure. The more sightings we have and the quicker we get to hear about them the better, if we can confine her to an area it will be easier to monitor her and try to gain her trust with food. Some dogs are caught within a day or two, others can take weeks or in some cases months, we all need to be patient and keep focused, there is no magic trick to catching them, most times it just happens when you least expect it. Please continue to spread the word and keep your eyes peeled, you never know she may just wander up to you one day and give herself up, it has been known. Thank you all again, we are a great team :) x - 2015-01-11 23:12 Pc

http://www.nightvisionhire.co.uk/ - 2015-01-11 23:07 Pc
- I hope this idea doesn't sound too absurd but As it gets dark early maybe night vision binoculars would be useful ?
I've googled a company that hire out night vision aids/ imaging and can do next day delivery ??? You could arrange to have people at each of the key areas over night ?? I'm guessing that between the hours of 1am and 5am she's probably curled up sleeping however the rest of the time she's on the move .. I will paste the link in the next comment box so admin can remove it if necessary . I really hope she's home soon . - 2015-01-11 19:20 Bentley's mummy

- Encouraging out on searches today that the vast majority of people have at least heard of a missing Dalmatian. On my first sortie I forgot to take my info slips out but managed to persuade folks to put the contact number on their phones, sorry Jenners you are famous.
At the side of dog lane there is a large piece of waste ground with some old buildings. Does anyone know if they are used ? - 2015-01-11 13:29 Nicki
- Have been out this morning and have postered Dog walking areas in Witcombe and at the Roman Villa, handing out information slips to everyone we saw. Also poster now up at Bentham domes, met lots of people who knew of Whipser through Facebook but also lots who had not heard so these information slips are invaluable, so if anyone is out looking if you can carry a few in your pocket with her details on and the Doglost Coordinators number that is such a help. The wording we have used as Elizabeth has previously posted is
"Missing on 5th January 2015 Female Dalmatian. please do not call or chase, but ring Jenny anytime to report sighting on 07971 489 168 Updates can be seen on www.doglost.co.uk".
Also met the Church warden and Vicar at St George's, Brockworth, who both have information and are going to include in parish notices. A lady we met at the Roman Villa has a contact who can send email notification to Witcombe village residents so she is going to do this for us too.
A friend from Radio Gloucestershire has put out the information on their social media today again as well.
Lets hope she shows herself again this evening. - 2015-01-11 10:58 Pepper

- We have had a flurry of sighting this evening, all definitely sure it was Wispa, I have updated the map, but just to run through, she was first seen in Brockworth Road running from St George's church direction, she crossed the road towards a detached house, next she was on Shurdington Road, running from Henley Bank to Green Lane, next she was the other side of the A417 running along Shurdington Road, she was followed up Bentham Lane, up into Dog Lane where caller lost sight of her running in to a farm. I was always just behind her, we checked the farm, it is on 2 levels, Damon heard something in a gulley, shone the torch and he saw an eye reflect back, then it was gone. This is the last sighting approx an hour ago. We are now sat on Shurdington Road waiting to see if she makes her way back. She is still very scared :(

- I have time to look tomorrow. Is there anywhere on the map you recommend - places not covered recently?
- 2015-01-10 19:20 Pepper
- Planning to go out tomorrow to look for whisper. It looks like the area we were planning to cover was covered well today. Is it still a good idea to walk the Brockworth/Churchdown//Chosen route or is there another area we should focus on? Happy to go with whatever is suggested. Let's hope we find this lovely girl x

- Unfortunately we didn't get a sighting today :(.... Husband went out to look at 6am, I went mid morning, hubby went again for a very long walk around the church and fields in the afternoon, I've just been again and nothing... Sorry. Praying someone gets a sighting soon. Big hugs whisper x

- Agree with Jenners, please take every opportunity to tell people. We carry small slips with typed info to hand out to people saying, "Missing on 5th January 2015 Female Dalmatian. please do not call or chase, but ring Jenny anytime to report sighting on 07971 489 168 Updates can be seen on www.doglost.co.uk" We show them the poster also. Many thanks for all the dedication to help find Whisper.

- We have walked from Brockworth to Churchdown and back along the Brockworth Road and nothing at all, also walked down Churchdown Lane to take a look in the fields there. Also up to the Church on Chosen Hill, quite a few people up there that we spoke to but no sightings, maybe a bit busy up there for her with people dog walking etc? Spoke to every cyclist/runner/walker we have seen. My friend has also been out in the fields where she was last sighted. A few more posters put up, especially around St Georges Church, Brockworth and the entrance to the allotments there. Come on PLEASE girl :-(

- Have met lots of people out and about this morning, it is amazing how people who have walked past the posters were not aware of her, so please don't assume people know, mention her to everyone you meet. I am having a break for an hour to to some work, then will be back out this afternoon. Be careful, the fields are extremely muddy, I've lost a welly due to mud suction and been say in a mud bath already LOL, come on Wispa, I don't think my body can take much more, a sneaky sighting please!
- 2015-01-10 11:55 Nicki
- Thank you Jenners for the map, it has been shared lots from my personal Facebook page so word is definitely being spread and lots of people saying they will be out and about looking today. We will shortly be walking Brockworth Road then heading up to the Church area on Chosen Hill. We will poster by St Georges Church, Brockwwoth and the allotments there and then along Brockworth Road. We will have our liver and white dalmatian Max with us, just to forewarn anyone on the look out and so not to confuse anyone seeing another spotty dog in the area, hopefully Whisper may recognise him as a familiar scent.

- I live in Churchdown village and have met whisper a few times with my dog so it might help. I am going to walk up birdlip this morning driving via Brockworth, then will drive back via sorting office so hucclecote road back to churchdown, so will keep eyes peeled then will have a look up chosen hill this afternoon. I don't have a printer but am happy to leaflet and poster the dog walk areas on churchdown if you can get some to me! X

- I have made a map on Google to plot the sightings of Wispa, you can click on the pins to see more info, here is the link https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zlKFboquA6dg.kkV54QOLY3vs We need help looking for her but it is best not to be in a group, as this will frighten her. We need to cover Chosen Hill from all angles and the fields from the Brockworth Road sightings back to Chosen Hill. If you can help please post on here where you will be or feel free to ring me on 07971 489168, I will be out and about in the area tomorrow too. Cannot get out to aid searching until Saturday unfortunately but do own a hound who has been used to locate lost injured deer after 24/36hr and could potentially use this skill on other species?!

- posters put up at Hucclecote Meadows, some more in Coopers Edge by dog walking areas, Brockworth Royal Mail sorting office. We put one by The Green in Churchdown Village and one on the corner of Paynes Pitch in Churchdown Village.
Please can anyone poster Churchdown Hill and Chosen Hill and the dog walking routes leading to them? Posters will need to be weatherproof and fastened securely. Its very windy out there now :( - 2015-01-08 21:54 Jenners - Area Volunteer, Gloucestershire
- It's been a long day today but sadly no sightings of the little lady. Jenny and Tiga joined us at lunchtime to do some tracking. Tiga initially picked up a scent from near the last sighting area, along Brockworth Rd, up into The Green in Churchdown, but then nothing. We took a drive around, Tiga tried to find a scent in various areas, but nothing. He had a long day tracking yesterday and was very tired by dusk. The man who spotted Whispa yesterday came out to confirm where it was, but no scent was there, so Jenny and Tiga have gone home for a well earned rest. We have been given some advice on possible hiding areas that will be checked out in the morning. Postering Churchdown is needed due to the trail there, so if anyone is that way please help by putting some up and spreading the word. Early night tonight, and back out tomorrow. Keep safe Whispa x

- I search for quite a few hours today but no joy sorry. Fingers crossed the traps jenners has set will work tonight. I will search again tomorrow for sightings x

- The farmer is great, given me permission to use the traps, I am walking the area now, no signs of her, but would explain the route she is taking so am confident she will be this way again. There are a few walkers about and we know she is scared off by people, so best to be patient and let her calmly find her way to some food. I will set the traps once walkers have gone.

- Just had a call of a confirmed sighting of Whispa in a farmers field yesterday lunchtime, she was cowering in a particular area, the caller is related to the farmer so us going to clear it with them for me to set a trap there today as it's an area she felt safe enough to stop and sit in. Fingers crossed little madam will stick to her routine today and she'll be tempted by my smelly cooking, I'll update later :)

- BentlyMummy, thank you very much. Her route as we know it in the time line, was , up Larkhay Road, poss Zoons court area, skirt Churchdown Hill, Tinkers Hill area The Green, Valiant way A417 in direction of Birdlip, then spooked and turned down A417 south, crossed over to other side to fields behind the fruit farm on A46 Shurdington after police tried to catch, presume tracked back via bridges over A417 on Brockworth Road that comes down from Churchdown to Brockworth. Next seen back on Hucclecote road near the bridge and Sussex gardens. Then yesterday, Brockworth Road down from Churchdown towards Brockworth end, trotting towards Brockworth. May have changed direction after vet nurse stopped. We presume but don't know, that she has not been backdown as far as Larkhay Road end of Hucclecote again. We are covering Churchdown lane as a possible link route and Bentham because of the fruit farm fields sighting . Also checking Valiant way where the lorries bed down at night under the bridge and near the food outlets at Tesco. A straight drive up and down Ermin street and Hucclcote road scanning the side streets. I am covering Witcombe to Birdlip route but not Crickley Hill although would not rule that out, she was in foster at Birdlip for two weeks before her move.

- We have been driving the same routes as Jenny this evening. Just got in. No sighting. Lots of dog walkers we stopped to talk to already knew she was missing. We handed out nearly 100 slips with info on. Posters put up along Ermin Street, Mill Lane, layby by Brockworth Rugby Club, Furry Friends pet suppplies in Brockworth and shops along The Parade in Brockworth were postered.
Still left to poster is Churchdown Lane and the pubs along Hucclecote Road. We saw a dog walker about midnight along larkhay road who was out looking for her after a friend who lives in London had texted him she was missing - 2015-01-06 23:49 Jenners - Area Volunteer, Gloucestershire
- Brrr it's cold out there tonight, I hope she has found somewhere nice and warm to snuggle down for the night, we have been backwards and forwards along the lanes between Brockworth, Bentham, Crikley, Churchdown and Hucclecote, no signs, hoping no news is good news. Tomorrow she will be getting hungry, unless nature is providing a food source, and tired, about the time they start to show an interest in giving up the adventure. So many people are doing so much to help, it is great to see, she'll reward us all soon :)
