Great to read - when I couldn't find her on Lost, I hoped this was the case. I'm just hoping she's been spayed and wasn't in season when she took off!! But what a sensible animal - the weather has been dire these past few days, hail and thunder and dark as pitch at times. Not the weather for any dog to be out in, let alone a short coated breed like this. Keep her safe!! Now I have everything X-d for the Basset who has gone off after a fox today!!Last edited: 2015-01-18 12:04:45 by MamaBas

Happy that she's home. My dobie has to wear a fleece these days as he feels the cold. Guessing Pello's an older dog as she has a cropped tail. I'm sure she's had lots of nice treats since she's been home.

I'm really sorry to say,but I feel really sorry for that poor soul
looking after a dog especially a doberman(I had two )means more than sticking her in the garden on a long lead and feeding her,it also means social interaction with other dogs and humans AND play, what a lonely life that poor young dog is leading.
My dobie loved people and playing and fetching she could never get enough,no wonder she chewed through her lead ,she must have been bored out of her mind.
I want to apologize for that post, but I was in tears reading the sad life of that poor dog,she only knows the family,no one else gosh :(

received this email update from owners: all good news

I am very happy and relieved to tell you that
Pello is back home asleep in her bed, as from
10.15 this morning. She had been found asleep
at the local stables, and appears quite well and
uninjured.
Chris
Thank you so much everyone for all your help and support. She is a bit thin and subdued, but is in her bed asleep in front of the Rayburn. Mum and Dad are so pleased to have her home and are taking her to the vets, when she is settled, for a check up. One of the ladies that saw her yesterday came to sort her horses this morning and she was asleep on a blanket in one of their covered areas. You have all been brilliant! Thank you.

Sammie, where did you see the offer from K9SD? Is there a link or a number Chris could contact the person who made it. I think the weather is keeping a lot of people from going on foot.

I am putting a link to a map with sightings, hopefully it can be seen by everyone.

Good idea to lay a scent trail back to home if she is staying that close. Thank you everyone who is helping.
Sammie
I suggest if she is seen again that you take up the offer of the K9SD search dogs, unless you have a lot of people already out on foot looking?

Mike has been alerted and will look again tomorrow for you. Also the lady from Hoops. Oh and me too. Good Luck X
mike
I can't believe I seen her Saturday before I knew she was missing. I'm going out again tomorrow to look for her again
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Chris, she seems to be staying very close to home, is it worth doing some scenting along that road in a trail to her house? Your mum as the details of how to do it. Otherwise get some of her bedding out, and some of the family items for her to get the scent of. Maybe leave some smelly fish or liver at the site so that attracts her to it.

AlisonH
Bumped due to the recent sighting.
Marissa
Oh Gosh come on Pello you are so close to home x
Chris
Pello has been seen about a mile from where she was lost, just about 2 hours ago, so on the road to Broad Parkham again. Out looking for her again now!
Chris
Hello all and thanks again for your help. Still nothing I am afraid and its cold here now, so I hope she is in somewhere warm. You are right, Baggy Dog, she normally sleeps in front of the fire and does not like the cold at all. I have added the chip details now. And yes, we have been in touch with the Dogs Trust, the council (not just ours but others in Devon), RSPCA, Petlog and various other places. We have also put posters out and leaflets through doors. Thank you so much Sue, for the effort you and Mike and his partner have put in today, especially in that horrid weather. You even put a leaflet through Mum and Dad's door, and they were really touched that others were helping, so I am very grateful. We are trying to stay positive...

Spent 3 hrs postering and driving round in circles. No sightings from anyone but lots aware of her. Mike who saw Pello at the weekend and his partner came. I had 20 posters which went to the Farm Shop, the shop at Bucks X, Hoops Inn (thank you Sharon for your help), Coach & Horses, caravan park, some farms and houses and a couple of bus shelters. The Garden Centre could do with one but I ran out. Later on I met a couple who had got one of the posters out walking the fields. Lots of barns and places to hole up. Rained all morning, then the sun came out. Typical! Will be available if there is a sighting again Chris. Sue xLast edited: 2015-01-13 12:51:07 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

There was a sighting a couple of days ago, she stepped out in front of a car on the main rd and ran up the rd a little before disappearing again. It is on FB Items for sale Bideford

Pello is chipped, and registered as lost with the chip company. Also her collar is blue, as in the photo, possibly with a small length of orange nylon rope attached

Chris: I have just spoken to your mum who has told me the details. Pellow was in her field on her long lead. They found the lead under a bush, which seemed to be chewed through, so possibly she decided to have an explore and has got herself lost. I have sent some details re scenting, telephone numbers etc. to her email which she will forward to you. Please contact me on the numbers I gave your mum if you want any help with an organised search at any time at all, I am not too far away and know the area. Good Luck XLast edited: 2015-01-12 19:52:41 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Sorry to hear that Pello's missing - if she's anything like our dobe she'll not be liking to be outside in the cold. I would suggest printing off business card size pieces of paper with your details on and her picture (esp important as she's brown - not everyone recognises them as dobies). Give these details to everyone you see - and start putting through letterboxes near your parents' home. Can you update to say whether she's chipped/tagged/tattooed? Good luck in your search.

have you put up posters everywhere? Also check neighbours incase she has got locked in sheds etc
MamaBas
I assume checks are being made of Dogs Trust, Ilfracombe - just north of Barnstaple? Will keep a look out in and around Bude where I am.

Thank you everyone for your help. Still no sign of her, I am very sorry to say. Lesleyjane - you are right I did say garden, but it is a very large garden approx. 2 acres, so she does get plenty of exercise and attention. Hope the helps put your mind at rest that she is well looked after.

The area is very rural could be a very large garden so you musnt assume its not getting the exercise, my partner has gone out to look now
lesleyjane
Have sent info to the Doberman Trust so they can help spread the word. But am sorry that the dog doesn't seem to be receiving the exercise and other stimulation she needs if she is confined to the owners garden as seems to be the case?
Marissa
