- Wonderful news that she is in her proper home and what a lovely start to the new year for her family but as Skywalker99 says it is quite sad for the lady that has had her and looked after her who now has lost her pet such a sad situation the only real way to stop this happening is a law that anyone purchasing a new dog (or other pet) must get it scanned by a vet first to check that it hasn't already got a chip registered to someone else. Also if it is a genuine rehome of a pet that already has a chip the current owner must be the one to re-register the chip to the new owner.

- I've just read how Ginny was found on her FB page....feel sorry for the woman who had supposedly bought her and seems to have been duped when she bought Ginny. She will have had to go home without her pet yesterday. These situations will continue until the law changes on dog theft, which is unlikely to happen in the short term.

- Hiya all, thank you for your continued support. We've followed up every lead, been to see 3 borders found hoping they were ginny but no luck. We rang the guy who went to America, and went to the property but no ginny, she tracked down the owner of the dog she found within a few hours. We miss her so much, she's my best friend, I don't know what more we can do x x x x
- 2015-05-01 09:58 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Had a call today from a man who has been away for over 6 weeks and has only just seen the poster...he says just before he went to America he picked her up and as he was flying out left her with a neighbour who said she would inform the dog warden. At that time the dog was wearing a pink harness...so maybe she has been with someone inbetween and escaped? or maybe another Border terrier but area found in is very close. Owner looking into it...have given her the mans number to call.

- Never give up Hannah, she'll come home sometime. I've heard of dogs being returned years after they've gone missing...I hope she'll be back sooner rather than later. She is microchipped which has to be a great help. She's on our website www.petsearchers.org & I've read about her on facebook a lot. Good luck.

- Hi all, sorry for not replying to each message. I'm finding it difficult to keep up with all the messages pouring into #FindGinny HQ through FB and Twitter, but rest assured we're looking at everything and taking on board people’s advice. As soon as the dog was found behind B & Q I contacted the vets she was taken to. They confirmed straight away it wasn't our little girl. We've also been working with the police to track down the Fiesta, we thought we had a very hot lead yesterday but unfortunately it didn't result in us being reunited with Ginny. Each day gets harder; the huge void in our lives is indescribable. Thank you for all you support - we won't ever stop searching for our sweet girl x x x
- 2015-02-06 08:06 Jan.Petsearchuk
- That was my first thought winty but the deceased dog is at a vets and they say it isn't Ginny, I guess they'd know a Border Terrier. I hope her owner is checking in here to see the comments.
- 2015-02-04 22:20 winty
- Doglost ID 82380 . Sadly a dog has been found behind B&Q at Burton on Trent . Hope it isn't this one ?

- Just come up on my FB page and it says white on chest - you can just about see it in this photo but only if you know it's there so it's worth mentioning it in 'marks and scars' on listing... or another photo (ie the one on FB). Good luck Hannah and Ginny xx
- 2015-01-29 10:25 Magnscruff
- If the Fiesta was heading towards B & Q in Burton, that is the road leading out of the town towards the A38 .
- 2015-01-29 08:25 Jan.Petsearchuk
- Of course we don't know that it was a local car, it may have been passing through and have been handed in to kennels close to where the driver lives. This is why Petsearch was started over 25 years ago. Someone picked up a Labrador in the midlands during the night, not knowing where to take the dog he took it home with him to Scotland and then reported it to the right places up there....but of course they don't contact the midland authorities do they....so petsearch circulates to petsearchers all over the country...there was 300 petsearchers at one time...not sure how many there are now as the founders are no longer alive and they used to keep the records.

- I wish the good people that find dogs would just hand them into vets or local authorities then they can get home xxxxx instead of holding onto the dogs it would save a lot of worry all round x hope the person that picked her up does the right thing and hands her to a place of safety x x

- Magnscruff I do petsearch for the Uttoxeter area and my husband runs the website covering Burton on Trent, Uttoxeter and Rugeley. www.petsearchers.org we don't get a lot of info from the Burton Dog Wardens now.
- 2015-01-25 07:43 Jan.Petsearchuk
- I have circulated Ginny to petsearchers and other contacts. The local petsearcher (Uttoxeter, Burton on Trent and Rugeley) are aware.
