Could this be confirmed in any other way? With the confusion of the duplicate posting and bad weather due it would be great to put all our minds at rest regarding this little one

Well done !!😁😁 glad its a good result and the owner now knows how it got injured.our drivers at Salisbury have seen a few unacompanied dogs on or near the line with usual fatal outcomes!!,so this is a VERY NICE RESULT will let the drivers knows. Thanks for your time 😀

Think this is sorted.had a really thorough search around the 2 orchards that Paula identified and also the embankment on the other side of the track. Confident it is not there. Spoke to a number of very helpful locals and called into neighbouring houses and farms and one lady thought it sounded like a dog belonging to someone she knew. She kindly contacted her and she was with her dog in the vets. The dog was having an operation on its foot and the owner believes the dog on the track was hers.i think this is most likely- small village so unlikely to be a stray.I think the dog will be ok from the sound of things. Thanks to all.

Not yet Jayelle, jasper is looking around that area today to see if he can spot anything.

Any update please?

Update listed on dog ID no 81906 by the train driver of a subsequent train who had been alerted and stopped ......
'This dog is still on the loose. It was HIT BY A TRAIN then wandered off into an orchard just outside WHIMPLE. I was cautioned to look for this dog when driving my train as a previous service reported hitting a dog. I stopped in time as it was still in the track but wandered off before I could get it. It had obvious injury on its back, not sure of the breed, but it was the size of a spaniel with sandy coloured curly coat. If you know anyone that owns a dog in this area or is missing a dog p!ease let them know'
