Thanks paul the vegan dog lover for checking out the telephone code. As they were similar codes, I wondered whether they were close. I suppose it's still possible that it might be Sophie & so the advert should be checked out by the owner or by a friend who knows Sophie well. Do we know if the owner has done this yet?

What area is the code 01207 - is it anywhere near Kevendon Hatch? Certainly worth a call. What genuine dog owner would have a Bulldog for 6 years and then decide they don't have the time for it. Sounds dodgy to me. I wonder whether the 'owner' says whether she's spayed. Hope Sophie's owner has called the number before someone else does. Surely, even a 6 year old Bulldog couldn't attract a price tag of ?450.

You look like a lovely girl and your mums waiting for you with lots of hugs and kisses. And I bet your four legged friend you live with is missing you too.

Have just come back from searching for a good friends dog who went missing in the Wirral area. I live in Pilgrims Hatch & will definitely keep an eye out for her. Please God she arrives back safe & soon.

Hi Melli, I can think of no reason I would ever leave a dog outside. I even object to people leaving dogs tied up outside shops. When I think of the things that can happen to them, it realy makes me angry when I see that. How many dogs have been stolen, or got free from their lead after being left outside a supermarket and been injured or killed? Sorry if I upset anyone here, but I felt this is a point that should be made.

We used to leave our 3 dogs outside when we are at work.. but no longer, we had a dog psycologist around to make sure that leaving them indoors was ok, which it was, you just can't take the risk any more, too many unkind people in thi world, I hope and pray Sophie will behome safe and well... good luck Donna

paul ... i can understand what your saying as its something i wouldnt do either but there is cases where they have to stay outside but as you said there are some nasty people out there and will do anything for cash , all we can do is hope and pray this girls home safe and soon

Hi, I saw your story in the gazette. It says your dogs live outside, if this is true, then I can only say this is a big mistake and something I for one would never do ever, especialy bearing in mind the British weather being as unpredictable as it is. Please reconsider leaving them outside because, [and I do not wish to upset you as you must be upset enough as it is] but there are all kinds of people out there who are quite willing to do all kinds of unspeakable things to animals, and all for the sake of money. I'm glad you had her chipped though, and I'm sure this will help get her back. Come home safe and well soon Sophie, and I hope whoever did this is cought very quickly and punished.

Poor Sophie and family, fingers crossed that she is safely home very soon. Great that she has been microchipped. Poster as widely as possible it really does bring great results. (My oldest Dobe is 8 and I'm not willing to think of him as old yet!)xxxx
