Great news!

I am delighted to read this tonight - Eric has certainly had a journey around Kent - if only he could talk! However very glad the owners nightmare is over

That's brilliant news! Well done and I hope he is ok. He will probably spend a fair amount of time sleeping it off after his escapade. At last you can both relax.

Brilliant news, well done you worked so hard to get Eric back. Hiliarious at me being Springer Maid !
lozenger
Thank you SpringerMad, I misread it initially and thought you were Springer Maid! F.C.

Got him back, thank goodness, doesn't seem too bad for his 18 day excursion.Thank all of you lovely people that have shown concern, especially J.and S. from Shadoxhurst and Superman Jay from Kent Tractors Shadoxhurst for keeping Eric occupied in their garden until I managed to get there, also Karen at Rosina Rescue and Peter Williams too.Nice to know there are good people about that actually care for animals , they're not there for us to abuse and exploit but to cherish and care for and return their love, thanks again everyone.Fred Carter

Both areas need to be flooded with posters so you can get sightings called in straightaway.

Further info - different area - on same post as dog sighted in Shadoxhurst

Oh that is brilliant news. Well at least he is staying in the same area. Really hope it is your boy.
lozenger
I've actually seen him myself today along a by-way just outside Shadoxhurst, he was too far away for him to recognise me so I didn't call him , by the time I'd closed the distance he'd vanished, I'm 99.9% sure it was Eric because his tail always stands erect. Also after having spoken to J.and S. from Shadoxhurst who'd actually seen him up close in their garden I'm almost positive it's him, just need to get close enough now for him to recognise me.Thank you everyone for your help and time, I'd almost lost hope, especially J and S. This is a link to a photo - he is sighted at the moment in the area of Shadoxhurst in Ashford - he has been in the area for a few days but is proving difficult to catch - I will gEt Gina the 'sighter' to add some info - (she is the owner of Ziggy also reported lost)

We live on the common, sissinghurst and found a missing poster for your dog in our mail box today. I'm a dog groomer so will show it to all my clients and keep a look out while walking my dogs. Hope you find him safe and we'll very soon.
lozenger
Thank you,I walked around and through Brewer and Saunders Wood yesterday, didn't realise how big an area it was, impossible to check thoroughly, I only hope he can hear me calling him, just need one recent positive sighting.F.C.

That sounds good that there have been 3 sightings in a similar area even if it was sunday. You are doing everything possible to big Eric home, so fingers crossed with posters up it may jog more memories, and if anyone does spot him there will be your poster nearby with the number to call right away. Keep going, he is there somewhere.
lozenger
......thought I'd better add that if he is spotted, he is extremely shy and almost impossible to approach, the nice lady from the first sighting said that he couldn't even be tempted with bits of chicken, also he now has a yellow collar on, not the one in the picture. Had two other sightings for Sunday in the Brewers Wood area. Apparently the initial sighting was 'phoned in to T.W.B.C.on Monday morning, I asked them yesterday and they said they had tried to contact me several times , I checked my 'phone history and found one "no caller I.D." log , without even leaving a message, thanks T.W.B.C. for your determined effort!!! Put up some posters yesterday, going out on my bike today through Brewers Wood, Saunders Wood and Hilly Wood areas, poor little chap must be starving by now and very frightened.F.C.
lozenger
Going to do that today, especially on all of the footpath entries into the woods.F.C.

Try to get some posters up around the Rocks Hill area. Other people my have seen him since.
lozenger
Had a positive sighting on Sunday from a lady in the Rocks Hill area near Cranbrook, sadly I didn't find out about it until today ( Wednesday ). He was scavenging in her dustbin but ran away when they tried to catch him. Today I've walked around Brewers Wood and tomorrow I'm going to do the same in Hilly Wood and Friezely Wood, although I imagine he's long gone by now. F.C.

It would be a good idea to get some posters up all around the area asap if not already done. Also check with the railways, call all local vets and kennels and put on animalwardens.co.uk site to get the word out. Hopefully Eric will be found shortly.
lozenger
Thank you Yvonne, that's very kind of you, been out all around the area today on my bike calling to him for a couple of hours, getting odd looks from the locals, still no sign of him. Thanks again. F.C.
