- how lucky to get a free microchip!!!
the amount of times I have had to waste a whole lunch break from work on humans who leave their dogs unattended.
be thankful it was a caring person who took her and responsibly got her microchipped.and not dog fighters.
by the way, this dog is still listed as missing on other sites! - 2015-02-10 23:42 digbysmum
- So pleased lovely Sasha is back home where she belongs. Stay very safe now . I too always wait outside a shop until an owner comes out, and offer a few (courteous) words of advice. It must be getting through, as don't see so many outside shops nowadays.

- Fabulous news for Sasha and her owners.
If I see a dog left outside a shop, I have to stand with it and when the owner returns explain who I am, what I do and the dangers... I've had Lurchers, spaniels, Staffies , westies....it's heartbreaking to see ....Most do not realise!
It only take a thief 3 seconds to steal....if dogs could talk they would say don't leave me alone outside a shop or in a car, xx - 2015-02-10 21:38 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer

- Surely people should be aware its the law to contact the local Dog Warden if they find a dog .......
tell the people who took her there are a lot of Staffords in rescue who would love a new home and the old ones not to leave dogs outside shops - 2015-02-10 17:54 ClaireC

- Very scarey, and well done to the neighbour. Heaven knows what the thieves were going to do with her!! When my mother and her partner go to the local paper shop the owner comes out to serve them so that they can stay with their dog!!

- SASHA UPDATE: With massive efforts from her owners and the help of people on Lost and Found Pets Coventry, Doglost, FB, Twitter and the local press SASHA has been reunited this morning.
A neighbour of the people that had Sasha saw her pictures in the Coventry Evening Telegraph and immediately went round to tell them. She had had her name changed, had a new collar and tag, had been to the vets for Vaccinations, Kennel Cough and a microchip and was booked into kennels next week in preparation for her new "owners" to go on holiday. I know that WE all know how important it is not to leave dogs unattended and I do the same as many of you and stand guard over dogs that I see outside shops etc. It is becoming more apparent that it's not safe to leave dogs in cars either but anything that you can do to help spread the word would be invaluable.
Sasha's family send their heartfelt thanks to everyone that has helped in their search and are thrilled and hugely relieved to have her home......and as a bonus she has gained a microchip whilst on her adventure (which now has the CORRECT owners details on!!) xxLast edited: 2015-02-10 13:56:54 - 2015-02-09 23:19 Kat
- Maybe the CCTV in the store picked up the man outside.
- 2015-02-09 20:49 Raf
- Clearly it wasn't a concerned member of the public! Has the person who was supposedly given this person's details been tracked down? Have they described this person? I always worry so much when I see dogs tied outside shops....it's not safe anymore....people should be made more aware of the dangers associated with it....it should be talked about in papers, on TV....

- Taken by concerned member of public? It is no longer safe to leave dogs tied up, too many being stolen. I think this was a sarcastic remark from the owner! Hope she is found very soon. Someone has suddenly acquired a dog grr

- No News at all :( The supermarket doesn't have CCTV outside the front of the store so we're waiting until tomorrow, when the council offices are open in an attempt to contact their CCTV office and see if there's anything that they can see.

- Any news on Sasha??
- 2015-02-07 21:56 Jan.Petsearchuk
- A good samaritan would have done what my friend did the other day when he saw a dog left outside a shop, he waited with the dog until the owner came out of the shop and he knew the dog was safe or alternatively left his name and address with the shop owner . I hope whoever took the dog hands it in to a vet.

- 2015-02-07 17:40 Unknown
- Presume all local vets informed. Make her "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" All xd.
- 2015-02-07 16:57 Ellie
- Ok, hopefully this person is genuine and is trying to make contact with the owner so we need to get word out how he can return Sasha as quickly as possible. But if he isn't we need to make her too hot to handle.
Added to DogLost East Mids and Warks Facebook group,

Stay safe until you are found Sasha

- UPDATE: FURTHER ENQUIRIES HAVE BROUGHT FORTH INFORMATION THAT SUGGESTS THAT A CONCERNED MEMBER OF PUBLIC TOOK SASHA HOME BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN TIED OUTSIDE THE SHOP FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME. HER OWNER HAD BEEN INCAPACITATED AND NEIGHBOURS HAD BEEN CONTACTED TO FETCH THE DOG. THE GENTLEMAN THAT TOOK HER LEFT HIS DETAILS WITH ANOTHER BYSTANDER THAT SAID HE WAS A NEIGHBOUR OF THE OWNER BUT WE ARE STILL TRYING TO LOCATE THIS PERSON.
