Can we give him a name. I like Rocky. RIP Rocky xx

I think there is a good chance that nobody will come forward. It has been shared widely so they may well know that he didn't make it but they might be worried that they will be billed for the out of hours vets etc. He was a very sweet natured dog - I suspect somebody's pet.

So sorry...Have you tried asking the kennels on the A5 near Manshead school if they are missing a Rottweiler? I will try Jockey farm on the A5 tomorrow as I know someone on there and it backs on to the fields that lead to Caddington x
julie shelton:
This was definitely not Steve - he had a very different head. I have Rottweilers myself and they are quite easy to tell apart. Also, we scanned the whole of this boy - there was no microchip.

I'm devastated. I'd love to find his owner to at least give them closure. I have contacted Steve's owners via Facebook. He did look a bit like one of Steve's pictures. RIP, run free at Rainbow bridge x xLast edited: 2015-02-11 11:58:21 by YLK4DOGS

This lad would have been transferred to us, but sadly didn't make it.

I realise that you cannot see all of my original post. Both the local police and the RSPCA were (eventually) in attendance. He has been taken to the 24 hour vets - Vets Now at the Icknield vets in Luton. From there he is likely to be taken to the dog warden's premises on Wednesday morning. The inspector did try scanning for a chip but she didn't have much success. Unfortunately because it was dark and so was he my photo would take a decent picture. He was a very friendly fellow and was happy for me to stroke his head until help arrived. I wish I could have moved him myself but the police officer wouldn't let me. All I could do was keep him warm and reasure him. I just hope his owner can be found.
