- Betty was picked up and the chap thought she was a stray and took her to Tring. His sister alerted him to Doglost and Betty was brought back late last night. Thank you to those who kept a lookout for her and shared her missing poster. Stay very safe and very very close from now on! x

just seen this on facebook - might be worth a look x - 2015-02-23 22:09 ClaireC
- Went out both yesterday until it rained but spent a lot of time out today. Checked the hedges and ditches again today. Spoke to some different postmen but very sadly nothing to report.

- Sadly nobody saw what happened to the man or Betty after he asked around if anybody knew where she lived. The vast majority of people visiting the shop at that time in the evening are people going home to wherever. I think that if the person was connected with the Armed Forces then they would have informed somebody either dog warden or even their own police section within the camp or civil police. I do wonder how if he was riding a motorbike how he would have got Betty home to wherever! So really at a loss to think where she would be. Ive walked around this village in different directions and looking into thicker hedges and down ditches but to no avail. Will go out again tomorrow for another look.Last edited: 2015-02-21 22:49:06 by ClaireC

- Any idea what direction motorcyclist went to? Maybe encounter to hospital for work? Stoke mandeville, there's also an Raf place nearby I think too. Trouble is some people take dogs they've picked up to their area and not the dogs, one from Bedford ended up in March, cambs as that's where the finder lived. Any idea of even first to numbers of bike as they would indicate if local.

- Thanks. |'ve suggested to owner that she talks to The Bucks Herald as this has a wide network with a photo of Betty and preferably to speak with them early next week and hopefully it would make Wed edition. They've just run a story of a dog stolen in Mursley - Margot Dog ID 82689.Last edited: 2015-02-21 09:50:47 by ClaireC

- No luck so far with the motorbike clubs. Have shared details on the Aylesbury Grapevine facebook page to try and spread the word.

- Have put up a lot more posters today on Betty's known "walks" and have put up on telegraph poles near bus stops and bus shelters and reservoir entrance within Weston Turville. More posters will bring more attention especially from dog walkers/hikers etc.
- 2015-02-20 13:12 ClaireC
- Also needs more posters up and i will shortly be going out again to put more up around her known "walks". Ive put some up in bus shelters as kids go back to schools next week. Postmen are aware and some more dog walkers that i have made aware this morning.

- That would be great. He was obviously concerned to have picked up the dog and tried to find the owners. Not every one realises you need to report to dog warden so to find out what he did next will solve the mystery!

- Might be worth sharing info with local motorbike clubs. I'll have a nosey on facebook now. I know there's definitely one in Hemel.

- I have driven and walked around this morning. I've put up a few more posters and will put more up tomorrow hopefully when its not raining! I do think that a lot more posters along the strategic routes that Betty often took would bring more attention to her now being lost as opposed to just wandering. Spoken to the local postman who knows Betty and will keep a lookout for her and also spoke to the dustbin men today as its collection day. Spoke to a lot of my friends who are dog walkers and knew Betty. They haven't seen her but will keep an eye out for her. I have made enquiries up at the travellers site just in case Betty wandered in there but nobody has seen her. Will continue to keep on looking for her. She is such an adorable friendly and very approachable little dog and just really longing to see her back home again where I do sincerely hope she will be kept under lock and key!Last edited: 2015-02-19 13:55:33 by ClaireC

- Betty dashed off between the legs of owners daughter while she was away. Once found out missing she made local inquiries.
Betty is greatly missed and much loved by owner and her 3 children.
Please share and poster to spread the word in the hope the finder sees this and advises owner what happened to the dog.
Owner is checking with local dog wardens as by law the dog should be reported as found.
If this has not been done then suggest a report to police and obtain a CRN as this then becomes -theft by finding! - 2015-02-18 17:14 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- more info from owner...via email...
Betty dashed between the legs of my daughter on Monday 9th Feb, so 9 days ago.
I was away, and returned Tuesday lunchtime to realise she was not there. Kids were questioned after school, and said she’d gone and not come home.
So – on the phone to dog wardens, police etc (a task much convoluted??!). Signs were made and then questions asked on Weds evening at local shops.
The local newsagent said that a man had been in and asked whose dog it was ( the wife didn’t know – apparently), and also asked in the chippy – and Hair salon. the man who was asking (biker, middle age, with goatee), reason to believe no-one really cared
The signs are up, we are hopeful, and thanks soooo much Jane!
