This is a long shot but we found a Greyhound today that fits the description of Rennie. She has tattoos in both ears

It's a long shot, but this greyhound was found wandering. The white bib seems a very similar shape, age is about right, foot markings are almost identical - could it be Rennie? http://greyhoundgap.proboards.com/thread/85843/sable-sweet-natured-year-greyhound

Please continue to look for Rennie and share her poster, her white bib is quite distinctive. She had only been in her new home a short time when she escaped through the front door. Despite extensive searches in and around the Ashdowne Forest in the most awful weather conditions she has never been found. The new owners and Rescuers only want to know she is safe and loved and have no intention of asking for her return. They just want closure, it's the not knowing that is worse.

Gutted that Rennie is still missing - I know that there are certain people who are still making a huge effort to find Rennie, even after a year.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
As Rennie went missing one year ago today I have bumped her page.
It's so upsetting that Rennie is still lost despite all the amazing efforts of her owners and friends to find her. They really couldn't be doing more yet she's still out there somewhere.
Hopefully people will keep sharing for her.
Thanks to all who have been and are still helping with the search for Rennie.

Sam's message about Rennie has been shared several times on various social media sites. As a result someone has suggested checking local travellers' sites, if there are any in the area where she went missing. Might well be worth a try.

Hi all, I have another favour to ask of you yet again! Could you all please pay a visit to Rennie's website www.findrennie.co.uk and print as many posters as you can and get them up in any pet shops, Pets At Home etc that you can think of. We need the word spread as far and wide as possible. If anyone out there has her they may not have a computer so may not as yet be aware she is missing. Thank you, your help as always is very much appreciated and together hopefully we'll bring Rennie home.
SJ
Can I ask a favour, if you have adopted/taken in a black female greyhound since February 2015 and you don't know her history/pedigree that you pay a visit to this link. http://www.greyhound-data.com/ On this link you can then click on the tattoo tab at the top of the page and enter the tattoo details you will find on the inside of your Greyhounds ears.
The reason I ask is that we are still desperately trying to locate Rennie, a black female Greyhound who went missing back in February. It's probably a long shot I know, but if the tattoos you enter happen to match hers you will know when the page comes up and I would ask that you please get in contact with the number supplied on her page. Many thanks.

Sighting????

Tonight I had a call from a kind lady reporting very sad story about a large black dog attacking a deer near her farm in North Chailey, East Sussex on Sunday 26th July.
This is only 12 miles from Crowborough.
The people who saw the incident have seen a picture of Rennie and said "it could have been her" although they first described it as "Wolfhound size".

Anyone in the area please be extra vigilant.

If you know anyone in the Chailey, Newick, Fletching, Piltdown or nearby areas, please make this known and ask them to keep an eye out.

Thank you.

A possible sighting at last. Sat 20th about 8pm crossing New Road by a taxi driver and passengers, a black greyhound/ whippet dog. New Road connects between Fairwarp and Hartfield, it's just before the Crow and Gate on the main road up to Crowborough. PLEASE VISIT SEARCHING FOR RENNIE FB SITE. This girl has been missing since 12 th Feb.

A month and no further sightings of this elusive minx. "POSSIBLE SIGHTING MONDAY 27th April. a.m
I have just had a call from a lady who saw what she thought was a black dog, described as "bigger than a fox and smaller than a deer".
Her own dog chased it away so she didn't get a very clear look.
The sighting was at Chuck Hatch in a field with an empty barn (although there is sometimes a tractor parked in there) adjacent to Five Hundred Acre Wood on the B2026. This dog moved away, but not very fast. If this was Rennie, it could indicate that she is either ill/injured or just simply becoming dispirited with living rough.
I am heading over there now just in case its her and she is hanging around the barn for warmth & shelter.
E-bike Rider, if you are up to it, could you keep an eye around this location too please.
Anyone else who actively searches, please bear five hundred acre wood in mind. Take some soft smelly treats and a slip lead with you.
Thank you and keep believing!!"

I joined the walk from Gills Lap this morning with a friend and our two dogs. Great turnout, lovely walk in the sunshine, but sadly no sightings of Rennie.

Just to make sure everyone is aware if not already, the photo we have of Rennie IS NOT Rennie herself but that of a similar dog.
Therefore if anyone has or is aware of someone recently acquiring a black female Greyhound within the last two months then please let us know.

***FURTHER POSSIBLE SIGTHING***
Possible sighting 15:30 today 07/04/15

Location:- Crowborough Road. Heading from A26 towards Nutley, Over the cattle grid and into the left side car park.
There is a path that runs down towards a "Horse Farm" (probably a riding centre).
A slender black dog was seen disappearing into the undergrowth and no other humans around
SJ
*****Further Possible Sighting*****
This morning I had a voice mail left on my mobile from a lady who lives in East Grinstead who I have now spoken with. She was in Lintons Forest Car Park which is on the Colemans Hatch Road on Wednesday 1st April 2015 at about 2.30pm.
She states she saw a lone black dog she describes as being a bit underweight wandering down the pathway away from her with it's nose to the ground. The dog was not interested in people and looked lost. She believes now that this was Rennie. She rang me today as she only learnt about Rennie when reading the Courier newspaper late last night.
On the back of this sighting Trevor and I have been over to Lintons Car Park and put posters up in there and in all the adjacent car parks to it.
As the crow flies it is not inconceivable that this sighting was in fact Rennie and therefore yet another area to concentrate on.
SJ
The sighting below is now believed not to be Rennie.

POSSIBLE SIGHTING TODAY 27 March 2015 - 11:00hrs

We have just had a report of a possible sighting this morning.
The location is Western Road - Jarvis Brook.
Just under the railway bridge between the Plough & Horses pub and the turning for Parkers Builders yard, there is a post box on the right hand side.
A dog fitting Rennie's description was seen running into the field behind that post box.

I happen to know there is at least one Black Greyhound who walks that road with its owner, so if anyone knows this person or anyone lives in the area can they conform if that dog goes off lead or has been loose today please?

In the meantime, we have to treat this as a possible sighting of Rennie.

G
Just a suggestion but have you thought of putting something on the Doglost poster asking people to NOT APPROACH HER and IF SEEN REPORT SIGHTINGS - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CATCH HER etc

SJ
Great News.
We have a Microlight going up tomorrow morning at 0715hrs to search for Rennie! How brilliant is that and it is all down to a few e mails being sent out asking if a Microlight could maybe help with the search.
In truth we didn't expect much response back but South Coast Microlights came back almost immediately and said they would be happy to assist and will start tomorrow and have very kindly offered their services Free of Charge, how very kind of them is that?
So a huge thank you to South Coast Microlights who have just increased our chances of sighting and hopefully getting Rennie back ten fold.

I am hoping to help out with the feed stations from next week. I also spent a couple of hours yesterday walking round the area where the last sightings have been. No sign unfortunately but I think she may be more likely to venture out at dawn and dusk when it's quieter. There is a lot of people involved in the search for Rennie who are doing an amazing job. Fingers crossed there is another sighting soon.
SJ
The pony enclosure is 60 acres of dense gorse covered terrain. There are seven Exmoor ponies out there that are supposed to be wild ponies so therefore are not fed. The enclosure is so vast that sometimes when searching we don't even manage to find the ponies out there. Not sure if this will work but here is a link to some video of the enclosure. If it doesn't work you can look on the Searching For Rennie FB page and put the word video in the search bar at the top of the page. There you'll find some videos of the enclosure. It may work if you copy and paste into address bar.

Very pleased to hear of new sightings. I do not know the area or what exactly the pony enclosure is, but if this is somewhere the ponies go to feed at certain times of day I'm wondering if Rennie is making her appearances at about the same time of day. She might 'tag' on to ponies for company, warmth and/or safety. Just a thought as it would not surprise me .. unless she is scared of ponies!
SJ
We have now had two further possible sightings of Rennie been reported to us, the first being that she was seen on Tuesday 17th March at 1620hrs back in the pony enclosure. The area was searched again but by the time of arrival if it was Rennie she had already moved on or gone to ground. We believe from the information given by the person who sighted her it is highly likely it was Rennie.
We have just had another call come into Trevor this morning (19/03/2015) with a possible sighting at 0700hrs off the B2188. The exact location is described as: From Crow and Gate Pub A26, turn right onto New Road. At end of New Road turn right onto B2026 go past Police (Kingstanding) and take the first turning on the right onto the B2188. 'Church Hill' car park is on the right hand side. There is also a yard where they stack all the timber/trees. There is a public footpath on the right about 200yds from the car park with a big silver gate that is chained up where the path is accessed beside it. The sighting was 50yrs on the right hand side.
From these sightings if it is her it would certainly appear that she is sticking to a loop of about 7-8 miles around.
Anyone in this area, spread the word, get more of the Rennie posters up, and keep your eyes peeled.
Many thanks as always.Last edited: 2015-03-19 12:10:11 by SJ

Jules, Millpond Wood runs along the road on the opposite side and to the right of the Deer Stalker Pub if you are standing with your back to the pub. It goes along as far as the other end of Whitehouse Lane. Hope that makes sense.
SJ
Today we have been notified of another possible sighting of Rennie by Sarah Churchill. This sighting was sometime last week when Sarah was driving along Broadwater Forest Lane she saw a dark coloured dog she thought at the time was a Lurcher run across the road in front of her from Tunbridge Wells direction and into woodland heading in the direction of Eridge. The dog crossed the road about 100yds prior to a shop called Florist In The Forest.

Sarah's initial thought that it was a Lurcher is because people in the area go hunting with their Lurchers and at the time of the sighting she was not aware of Rennie being missing. However on learning about Rennie Sarah thinks it quite likely it could have been her.

Are there any members in this area who could go out and poster this area for us please?

I have e mailed all vets in the area with updated information.
SJ
It took a while this morning to actually locate Millpond Woods but eventually Trigger and I found them!

Whilst searching for the woods I spoke with four locals, two of whom said that there were a couple of black Labradors in the area who they'd seen running loose around the area. One of the men said a couple of days a go he saw them cross the road and run out into the woods where I had been searching.

Having now walked these woods I am inclined to think the sighting we were told about was more likely to be of one of these Labradors rather than Rennie. This is because the main road runs down the whole of one side of the woods and the other sides from where she would be coming from are fenced with stock fencing and non dog friendly stiles from open fields into the woods so I don't think she would have been able to get through.

Despite this I have postered the area, left a poster with the local pub and on the drive back gave some posters to the Ashdown Forest Ice cream lady who said she would distribute them amongst the other vans who cover the Forest and display in their vans.

We have had a sighting of a black dog feeding in woods a few miles from where we have been searching for Rennie. This sighting was last week, but the dog could still be there.
The area is called Friars Gate and the exact location is Millpond Wood.
Its on the B2188 about 6 miles from Fairwarp and 3.5 miles from Groombridge.
Its visible on Google maps.

SJ
Re Rennie, missing Greyhound
Morning all, we have been out this morning and have now relocated the trap to where Rennie was last sighted and left clothing with familiar smells in it along with some tempting food for her.
The area she is in is absolutely vast covering approximately 8 acres where she can easily remain hidden so we need to hope now that she comes across it when she breaks cover and is out looking for food.
The trap is being monitored and food will be changed on a daily basis and volunteers have been identified for these roles. We therefore ask that just for the time being people do not go looking in the enclosure for either Rennie or the trap as lots of different scents in the area from unfamiliar people to her will only serve to hinder her capture.
I'd like to thank you all for your continued support but also to make you all aware the recapture of Rennie is not going to happen overnight and patience is most definitely going to be the key.
Please all keep your fingers crossed and as soon as we get any news or plans change we will be sure to let you know.
Many thanks.

Facebook page SEARCHING FOR RENNIE
SJ
Volunteers needed Sunday 1st March 2015. Meet at the Crow and Gate Public House Car Park at 10am.
With the lack of sightings we have had of Rennie despite the word being spread far and wide unfortunately we need to consider the possibility she may be lying injured or worse somewhere in the cover of the gorse.
With that in mind volunteers are needed on Sunday to carry out an organised methodical search of the gorse in the enclosure.
As all of you will know that have been searching the enclosure there are many areas of the gorse that is not accessible unless somebody actually crawls in on their hands and knees. These are the areas I am proposing to have searched.
We will need a group of willing volunteers to all work together so we can cover all sides of the particular area of gorse being searched at the time so if Rennie were to be disturbed and break cover she will be seen. Once a particular area of gorse has been checked and cleared we will then move onto the next area as a group and repeat the process.
This will be a long and laborious task due to the sheer size of the area which will need searching but one I feel is very important to do. Please if you are willing to help with this please let us know you are coming and meet at the Crow and Gate pub at the time and date stated as above.
Many thanks.

To answer a few questions re this search...
The majority of the people actively looking for this dog live 15-20 miles away, so do not know the area as well as some of you. We have placed posters in all the car parks we could find.
If they are not there, they have been moved.
We have informed the Forest Rangers, the Police, all the houses behind the area she was last seen, The Army Training Camp, The Pub, Local shops and anyone else who would listen.
We are in the process of contacting Local radio and newspapers (Friday add has been done already) and we are leaving food trails into an unset trap.

Anyone who would like to assist with finding this poor dog, please visit the facebook page and offer your services. People with local knowledge are particularly welcome.

Has Rennie's disappearance nr the Crow & Gate been brought to the attention of The Forest Rangers, and the media ie The Courier, Friday Ad and Argus who perhaps if they have not already done so, will put her photo in this week's editions with a short description of where she might be and contact number. Radio Uckfield might even be happy to give her a mention too. If Rennie was to cross the A26 nr the Crow & Gate she could well have made her way into the neighbouring Village of High Hurstwood where there are quite a few properties in Chillies Lane with a lot of land and woodland where she could be hiding. So posters in the village and Hurstwood Pub might also be an idea. Just a thought.Last edited: 2015-02-22 18:31:49 by SMB

Wind would have to be in the right direction BUT Sounds of a distressed rabbit can be found at www.soundboards.com. I googled "sounds of a greyhound racetrack" and "Greyhounds barking", you might have to pay for the racetrack one. If she were close enough to hear she just might be drawn out. My nearly 11 yr old came over to investigate the bunny one and pricked her ears for the barking one. Hope you at least have a sighting soon. Too far to help, sorry.

Just back from walk on Forest and was surprised not to see posters in main car parks especially the area she is missing. The friend I walked with lives in Crowborough and did not know about Rennie. Maybe a bit more postering needed - hundreds of people walk that area every week. I would offer to take some up there but live miles away and back to work tomorrow - sorry. Good luck, I hope to see Rennie in blue soon.
SJ
Due to work I won't be able to get back down after today until Thursday but am really hoping Rennie will be found before then.
Thoughts are at this stage we need to observe the trap for the next few days at least and continue with the search and hope we get a sighting or a phone call coming in where she has been seen.
Please if you live in this area print her poster off, drop it through letter boxes, put it up in local shops and anywhere else you can think of, keep us posted to what you have done but if things get duplicated it certainly won't harm. We need to keep Rennie at the forefront of people's minds.
With this in mind we need to try and sort an observation rota for tomorrow (Monday) if she's not found today. I'll list 2hr slots again but appreciate this will be harder during the week due to people's work commitments but even if you have a spare half hour available let us know and I'll pop you down. We are trying to get a camera sorted to cover the trap which will make life easier.
For what you need to do with regards to watching the trap please read through the pinned post.
Also if anyone else has any suggestions or advice on what else could be done please let us know.
Many thanks.

Cross posted from Searching For Rennie FB page.

Searching for Rennie 21/02/2015.
UPDATE AND LATEST PLAN OF ACTION
Yet again despite searchers being out for the majority of the day and some still there as I type sadly there have been no reported sightings.
The trap has been placed in position which you can see from the photos. If you look down from the entrance to the enclosure nearest the pub the trap is in the gorse on the right hand side of the photo. The food trail comes up the hill from the bottom by the small bridge leading to the trap where a large bowl has been placed inside.
***Please note*** The trap has NOT been set to go off. This is because when set it needs monitoring at all times. Due to the lack of sightings of Rennie it is pointless setting it at this time.
What we need to do now is have people positioned in the wooded area just beyond the pub car park where the trap and the lead up to it can be seen for as much of the day and night as possible just to observe and see if she ever comes to eat the food. Only once we have some positive sightings of her entering and leaving the trap will we set the trap to capture her. If anyone has any night vision glasses we could borrow please let us know.
So what I'm asking for starting from first light tomorrow (Sunday) is for someone to check the food in the trap on arrival, replenish if necessary and then retreat into the wooded area far enough away but where you still have sight of the trap and just observe. We will try and get a couple of seats in this area and some sort of shelter. If Rennie is seen DO NOT try to approach or catch her we just need sightings at this stage.
I was thinking of trying to fill as many 2hr slots as possible. I have been advised a stray frightened dog is most likely to look for food in the evening as it's starting to get dark so we will also try to get some cooking going from the pub car park to further try and tempt her out between about 5pm - 6pm.
Please comment below if you can help with the observation of the trap. Time slots as follows.
6am - 8am - Stephen Shepherd
8am - 10am
10am - 12 midday - David Chambers
12 midday to 2pm - Mandy Brown
2pm - 4pm - Dee Buyuk
4pm - 6pm - Dave Broad
6pm - 8pm
Probably not much point going past 8pm at the moment unless we get any night vision glasses as torches etc will most likely spook her.
Anybody else who still wants to search the enclosure please make your search area over on the left hand side away from the food station/trap. Your efforts in this area may help to push her over in the right direction.
Many thanks to everyone who is turning out to help look for Rennie we need to remain positive and hopefully she'll be back home soon.Last edited: 2015-02-21 20:54:33 by SJ

UPDATE... 20/02/15
Carolyn Mynott & I have been down to C&G (Crow & Gate) area this evening and run a food/odour trail from the wooden bridge at the bottom of the enclosure, all the way up to and though the gap by the top gate (closest to the pub car park). It then runs outside the enclosure down the hill slightly and into the trees on the right hand side.
We have set up a temporary beach shelter with a bowl of food inside.
It would be helpful if nobody else runs any food/odour trails for the time being so we don't have trails everywhere.
We will set a trap up tomorrow morning and we still need volunteers to monitor the trap.
Thank you.

*******Please Note********
I have just been informed that the original phone number printed on the poster was incorrect. The correct number has now been added along with a second point of contact. Sadly any posters that have been put up have had the wrong number on them.
If anyone displayed a poster can I ask that you re print and replace with a new poster with the correct contact details should any sightings be made.Last edited: 2015-02-20 22:31:41 by SJ

We have now created a FB page called Searching For Rennie so all updates can be located easily in one place. https://www.facebook.com/groups/734051723375790/
SJ
Due to Forest Bye Laws, cooking on the Ashdown Forest is prohibited for obvious reasons.
Strategy:
Rennie has been sighted at the small bridge at the bottom of the enclosure on a previous ocassion. This is reached by using the entrance into the enclosure nearest to the Crow and Gate Pub.
A feeding station is going to be set up at the top of the enclosure more or less opposite the entrance in the small wooded area just outside of the enclosure. Trails will then be left leading up to the feeding station from the bridge under the fence where there is a gap just beside the entrance she can fit under.
The reasons for this is that we have a trap arriving tomorrow which can be positioned in place of the feeding station and in a position logistically it is easy to keep an eye on as it will need monitoring 24/7. Volunteers monitoring the trap will hopefully be able to do it from their vehicles.
Please if anyone is leaving food or trails for Rennie can you please bear the above in mind.
A FB page is being created called Searching For Rennie, so all other updates can be found in one place.

SJ
Karen any sort of stove is prohibited on the Ashdown Forest, any cooking you do will have to be done in the pub car park.

Spent a couple of hours walking quietly with my calm dog around the perimeter of the field adjacent to the car park at Crow and Gate - no sightings and the food I left out last night was untouched. There are a lot of sheltered spots where she would have access to drinking water and that are tucked out of the way and there are rabbits around too. Location wise so everyone knows where I searched. Left end of Crow and Gate car park. Walked perimeter of that field round the hedgerows through a gateweay into the next field. I walked that perimeter and left warm cooked pieces of sausage in the denser sheltered spots. I will be back up there again tonight to have a quiet look as best I can as it will be dark by then. Hopefully she will get that scent of sausages and know that she has a source of food that she can safely access and feels secure in a sheltered spot. I hope this is ok as I can see you have set the trap up at the far end of the enclosure. For clarity is that the far end, furthest away or nearest to the pub? If you want me to leave hot cooked sausages near the trap I will need to know how to find the trap please. Keeping everything crossed for this girl x
SJ
We now have a dog trap arranged. Thank you to all who posted offering suggestions of where to source one from.
SJ
A food bowl has been put out at the far end of the enclosure where it is sheltered and is in the vicinity of the house. It is just beyond the far entrance gate where you go in, (not the one by the pub) hopefully people can spot it and leave food for her in this area. Rennie was sighted here on Sunday 15th lying down. Good luck Four Positive Paws. She may stay around the area of the pub, enticed by cooking smells as she will be hungry. Hope there are bunnies in the area for her to catch. I tried to think about the " dark grey limping greyhound" that was sighted a week ago, it could be her as looking at google map of the area there seems to be white areas where chalk or something similar is processed, so if she is sleeping somewhere like that it would give her a grey appearance. If she has a gorse prickle in her pad that would make her limp. Hope there is a sighting soon.

Sausages cooked and about to leave for the Crow and Gate. I will go the far end of the car park again and check on the food I left last night. I realise the foxes may have eaten it but will put some sausage pieces down in the same place and then I will walk the inner part of that area, away from the road and place some more sausages down too. I will not call her name as I don't want to spook her. She may well smell the food. Fingers crossed. Can we please have a contact number, the one on the page isn't working. Thank you
four positive paws
Went out tonight to the Crow and Gate, turned into the left of the car park and drove to the far end. Parked up with car running for a while and then switched off and just sat and kept an eye out for her. Opened a carton of wet dog food hoping the scent might get picked up. Found a few sheltered spots and put food down in two places approximately 100 yards from the car park in the field (there is a house and the garden backs on to this bit. I couldn't further as it was pitch dark. I will go back to the area again in the morning with some cooked sausages again hoping she will pick up the scent. She may not make an appearance in somebody's presence but if there is a food station where she can visit when nobody is around it may help to keep her within an area and know she can go to a potential food supply. I will not call her name and it will be just me on a casual stroll and scanning for sightings. I won't approach her if I see her because it could really spook her. Keeping everything crossed this girl makes an appearance and that there are positive sightings soon. I tried to call the mobile number on the main page to check it was ok to go out tonight but the number is unobtainable so can it be checked please. Hope this is helpful and thinking of you.
SJ
Please ignore the latest sighting below it was taken from a post by e Biker on the 14th February. I have been out most of the day today in the area where the sightings have been with other volunteer searchers and as far as I am aware there have been no sightings today.

If a trap is being considered you might like to read Ray Dedicotts (super trapper) instructions re dragging and baiting area. See Reunited Fly page ID 67257, Poochpal post 18.04.14. Flys (lurcher) owner couldn't find a trap large enough (South West ) and had to borrow Rays one that I believe he'd made.( Birmingham Area ) Last edited: 2015-02-19 11:24:03 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Thought perhaps the Crow annd Gate pub might have been close by. That's a shame, not too warm for a greyhound out there, such thin coats and not much fat on them. Hope there's another sighting soon.

I walk this area every weekend with a friend and our dogs, if you are going to do another search this weekend coming please let me know and we will help. Really hope Rennie is found soon x
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Unfortunately the area that we believe Rennie is hanging out has no vehicle access - it is a very dense area of gorse. There are 6 Exmoor ponies and only once have we seen them. Rennie had only been in new home for 4 days before escaping so does not know the area. We are hoping that she will stay in this area so that we can close in on her.
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
If it's possible could owner sit in their car with a door open when dark to see if Rennie appears. Most dogs recognise the car engine. A good few months ago that was how a lurcher or grey was caught. I've tried to find the reunited post but someone may remember dogs name. Think they'd tried trap but the dog wasn't playing, but was being sighted regularly near a stables. Just might work... The traps may not be tall or long enough for a wary greyhond.

Dog trap needed for Ashdown Forest, Sussex anybody know of where we can borrow one large enough for a Greyhound please?
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Just got home and looking forward to offloading all the gorse in my hair and clothes after Tiga took me through the dense area of gorse. After all the other searchers had gone I had a quiet walk round and sat watching until it was too dark to see anymore. Sadly no more sightings but there is a possibility that she is hiding in this dense gorse.

Post on "greyhounds/whippets/lurchers lost and found" site yesterday. Sighted 14/2 at approx 2.00pm "dark grey greyhound" with limp between Crowborough Army Camp and Crow and Gate pub. Poster Krisi Williams.
SJ
We spent from 10.30am - 3.30pm searching with others today but not one sighting unfortunately. Where she was last spotted is in the pony enclosure, but we only came across the Exmoor ponies once in all that time so if they can disappear out there it will be much easier for a greyhound. Posters have now gone up in and around the area she was last seen so hopefully someone will spot her, call the number and give us something to go on.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to help today. We will be going back to try again tomorrow, meeting at the Crow and Gate Pub again at 10.30 for anyone that can offer assistance.
PaulaK
Please remember when searching that you should not be calling Rennies name - this often confuses and makes the dog run. Also under no circumstances should anyone chase or follow her, she will run. Quietly walking around is good, and if she is seen crouching low an avoiding eye contact is best. A disposable BBQ near any sighting is sometimes helpful in tempting a dog out. Please do not go out in big groups as this dog sounds scared enough anyway. If anyone wants to call for advice Im sure HQ will pass on my number.
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
good luck for search, probably lying out of wind or under hedges to keep warmer. If she likes squeekies that might help.

Meeting up at the Crow and Gate Pub about 10.30am this morning, for anyone in the area who could help in this search.

May help if other local greyhound owners could walk their dogs in the area as this often draws them out. (they do like their own kind). If she follows the pattern of other lost Greys she will probably move around at 1st light and just before dusk. Come on Rennie get yourself home to your nice comfy sofa.
