- I have been back every day and called and listened at the hole she went down and the surrounding holes, but there hasn't been any sign or sound of her at all, right from the beginning.
Sussex Badger Trust have been fantastic at trying to obtain a license but it is seeming unlikely now.

- Any luck with the badger people? Have you tried listening at the hole or are you not sure of the exact hole she went down?

- Have just found the dog on Swale borough council page.... I have actually already seen that due to some other kind people but sadly it is not her, although it does look incredibly similar. X

- Clarkey.... Couldn't find any message from you on Facebook but I think I have found you on there and have sent you a friend request :) xx
Kjane85..... Have got your number and will certainly let you know if there is anything you can do, thank you so much xx - 2015-02-27 20:18 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- I have sent you a message on your Fbk page but probably gone into your 'other' folder. Please would you look as there has been a dog found and posted with photo on Swale Borough Council Stray Pets page which looks similar to Indi. Worth checking.
Very hard when dealing with badger setts but main thing is to determine whether they are used or not. If it is not then you can ususlly search them.
You can use a hose with a funnel taped to end of it to listen down the sett .. and also to call Indi's name to see if she is there. It's quite hard to hear anything underground but the sound of your voice would carry to her if you call down the funnel. If she likes squeaky toys you could try using one of those too!
Bear in mind that Indi may well have got out of the sett already so it's very important to put posters up everywhere in case someone has seen her.
PS Can you add me to your friends list please as your page does not let me send you a friend request. Thanks. - 2015-02-27 18:43 kjane85
- So sorry, I had not seen your message but spoke to your boyfriend earlier and gave him my number just in case. I have two Jack Russell's myself and feel so sorry for you. Still keeping fingers and toes crossed Indie makes it home.
- 2015-02-27 09:45 JimsGirl
- Unfortunately there is no more news.
There are still problems with obtaining the licence because we are having problems establishing who owns the part of wood that the sett is in... It's not who we originally thought it was.
I've also been advised by the RSPCA that even with a licence I will have problems convincing the fire service to help because I haven't heard anything of Indi at the sett since she disappeared and can't guarantee that she is still down there.
I'm just clinging to the little bit of hope that if she is down there, she'll eventually be able to free herself and make her way home. I have heard many stories of dogs surviving for a couple of weeks down a hole and still making it home so...
Kjane85: thank you very much for your offer of help but I don't think there is any thing that I need anyone to do at this stage. Xx - 2015-02-26 23:13 kjane85

- Thanks again to all who are helping.
Valpark, thank you so much for doing the posters... If you could please drop them into Mole Country Stores (used to be called Scats) that would be great. My boyfriend works there and will be in there tomorrow.... Just ask for James, or give them to anybody on the till as they are all aware of Indi being missing.
The Sussex Badger Trust are still working hard to obtain a licence for me so that I can possibly get the fire service involved with thermal imaging technology to try and see if she is still inside the sett. Unfortunately it is rather a slow process as there have been some hiccups with obtaining permission from landowners etc.
I am revisiting the sett regularly but I have been unable to hear any signs of her. However, I know that she knows her way home from the wood as she has done it before when she got separated from me once, so I would expect that if she had made it out, she would have come home.
It is so difficult to know what to think. I want to hope that she is still alive but I can't help but fear the worst :(
Thank you springermad for contacting Jenny and Tiga for me.... Would Tiga be able to detect if she is underground? Xx - 2015-02-25 17:16 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

The left hand part of this wood is private woodland ( I have advised owners) - that is not to say she is not in that part but it won't have been where she originally got lost as its private. Obviously i don't know exact location in the woods but it was almost certainly to the right of the black dotted line (which is the old railway). It is well walked on a daily basis by local dog walkers. To find the woods, you drive into the Coop car park and park where the post and rail fence is - it should be obvious from there how to get into the wood. - 2015-02-25 13:45 kjane85

- Jimsgirl, I am from a bit further away, and trying to find the woods on the map. How would I find them. May be able to print some posters off and get them over, but haven't got a clue whereabouts it is.
- 2015-02-25 10:39 JimsGirl
- Thank you so much to everyone who has posted on here with advice.....
I am unfortunately having problems with my printer and haven't been able to get any posters done to put in the wood.... If anybody is able to do that for me I would be so incredibly grateful.
I will be back on the phone today to try and get some more help from the Sussex Badger Trust and the RSPCA who were very helpful yesterday, but got put on hold when the sighting came in.
Many thanks again to everybody that is trying to help. XxLast edited: 2015-02-25 11:25:03 by JimsGirl - 2015-02-25 10:31 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

Hi, am pretty sure I passed this dog yesterday ( Monday) Waldron area, just up from Burnt Oak...
Mon am, Fox coloured animal laying in the grass on the side of the road. A265 just after the junction of Scotsfield Rd I think it was, hopefully it wasnt her dog...
We saw a dog like her on Sunday at 12.30pm on th 281, tried to call her over, but she ran away accross the field, no collar on ..Last edited: 2015-02-25 10:33:24 by TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex - 2015-02-25 08:55 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

- Do you know which exact hole Indi went down? I would be inclined to do what TK and Clarkey did if so, as that was very successful. Also posters all around the wood entrances and anywhere in the vicinity would be great. What a nightmare situation. I hope she is found shortly.
- 2015-02-25 08:23 Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
- What a pity the sighted dog wasn't Indi:-( I had to go to the Coop yesterday - didn't see any posters up but admittedly didn't venture into the wood. I have advised the lady who owns Isenhurst Woods who is going to keep an eye open for her as she is is always out with her own dogs. Jimsgirl - do you drive to the woods or do you walk there from home. If you walk, roughly where do you walk from? It might be worth postering your normal route home if you do walk?

- Just thinking, if after a couple of days, she loses a bit of weight & manages to get out. Will be an idea to have a cardboard box or crate with familiar smelling blanket/clothes near to the set, hoping that if she does emerge she will find the bed and stay there ..

- We've shared this on Brighton Dogwatch and someone has posted this dog on the thread, quite far away and microchip should have been picked up if it was Indi as this dog is with the warden but worth a check: https://www.facebook.com/1556247534621364/photos/a.1556303891282395.1073741828.1556247534621364/1570009379911846/?type=1&theater

- So sorry to hear Indi is missing, We had 2 terriers dissapear in woods in Crowhurst a few months back, the other dog which was with them indicated to owner they might have gone down a hole... Was a few days later Clarkey & I went to the woods armed with a hose pipe with a funnel on the end... We put the pipe down the hole and got the ownervto call the dogs doen the funnell, then kept very quiet .. soon we could make out muffled noises and pinpointed a spot where the noises were coming from, we were able to take off a top layer of soil and a nose appeared & both dogs emerged none the worse for ware ..
Fingers crossed x - 2015-02-24 19:46 JimsGirl
- Thank you michc re help searching.... She's quite a shy dog and is wary of strangers so not sure that actively searching for her will be very fruitful. I am more keen on just asking people to keep an eye out whilst in the area (especially if you are walking in the millennium green) and letting me know of any sightings. Thank you xx

I went and had a look, and although I didn't see the dog that the gentleman saw on his land, when I showed him a picture of Indi he said that it was definitely not her that he saw :( x - 2015-02-24 16:05 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Hi, thanks for your interest .
There is the possibility that she may still be down the hole. I am awaiting a call from an RSPCA inspector to see if there is any help they can offer. Unfortunately, because badgers are protected by law, I can't dig in the area myself without a licence :(
I have registered her as missing on here in case she has been able to get out but is disorientated and confused and is found by someone as she is trying to make her way home. x - 2015-02-24 13:37 michc
