There's a guy called Lewis Blythe who's left a comment on the facebook page. He used helicopter company helivation - based in blackpool - to find his lost boxer. Check them out. I don't know what it would cost but with his red coat you should stand a good chance of spotting him.

he went missing on it's Trough Head. We think Alfie then went south or south east from there. Either down into Deepdale or back along towards Arnison Crag

We have a grid reference of where he went missing 388144......
and this
on Trough Head, just below the ridge leading to St Sunday Crag from Patterdale.

ah thanks west4 shall certainly look into it but doesn't look exactly like our alfie im afraid x

I have heard of people who have used a helicopter to search in that area. If you could be more specific about where you lost him, I will try and have a look this weekend. Also my Standard Schnauzer is very bad at chasing sheep - is this what could have happened in your case? Is this why he ran off?

CHRIS LOST HIS PRECIOUS DOG ALFIE IN THE PATTERDALE AREA ON WEDNESDAY 25th FEBRUARY
We urgently need you to join ‪#‎FindAlfie‬ on facebook and help with posters and searching if you can and if you are in the area please keep a look out and spread the word..
Alfie is a standard schnauzer..he is 5 years old and was wearing a red coat, with a purple Wainwrights Walks collar. He is microchipped.

Westmorland Gazette, local paper and always seem willing to do articles on lost dogs. Also alert all the local mountain rescue, they do lots of training exercises. Hope he's found soon.

Ellie look up all the local hotels and pubs and send them a missing poster of Alfie to display on their premises.

Just to say I was in exactly the same situation a few yrs ago, my Dad lost my dog in the Lakes and I was up in Scotland. I can't stress enough how important it is to get some posters put up in the area lost and surrounding valleys with Alfies picture on. That was how we were reunited! The local people will help all they can! I completely understand the situation you're in as i've been there myself! I'm sure you'll have Alfie home soon. Poster Posters Posters!!! Keep hopeful! X
