- Pleased to hear that Kizzy has been found.
Apparently the person who found her on the night that she went missing decided to keep her but did not report this to the Dog Wardens which is required by law. Such a shame for Kizzy's owners who could have had her home the next day.
However, on this occasion it all turned out well, Kizzy was well cared for, is fine and home now. - 2015-03-25 18:26 Unknown

- Thaniks ravenette. I had a Fbk chat with owners just now and have given my advice. Basically to register Kizzy as lost with animal wardens (which they are doing now), to contact all rescue centres, kennels in the area etc. Also to contact Dog Wardens in surrounding areas, counties just in case the elderly couple are from out of region. They should also contact all the local police by email if poss so they are aware that she still has not been found. Not sure which kennels the local authorities would use in West Sussex I'm afraid so I can't help with that. Hopefully this couple kept her safe until the morning and have handed her in now. Maybe they contacted the RSPCA? Sounds unlikely they are on Fbk so maybe putting posters up in Arundel and surrounding areas would be a good idea. - Kizzy went missing in Binsted woods, she ran off with another dog which returned. The area has been extensively searched over the past 3 days...it is also very popular with dog walkers and it is not believed that Kizzy is in there. Her owner believes that the dog picked up by the couple is Kizzy as it was right by where she went missing and at the same time (no other dogs reported missing in the area) They have contacted kennels etc in the wider area, even Battersea Dogs Home. I think the couple had some local knowledge as they mentioned Arundel police station, however, that would have been closed at that time of day. But, if they were from out of the area then they could be anywhere and unfortunately Kizzy isn't chipped. I have checked the Animal wardens site and will check other websites. Fingers crossed that this lovely girl is home very soon xx

- Thanks ravenette. Good to know that owners are doing all they can. If they really think Kizzy has been stolen then I hope they have reported this to the police. They will need to make sure that Kizzy is too hot to handle by flooding the area with posters. However, seems odd that they would bother to knock on someone's door before taking her away so maybe a different dog or maybe they have handed the dog in to the Dog Wardens, a local centre or the police in a different area?? The people who found the dog may have been visiting the Downs so worth checking neighbouring area Dog Wardens etc.
Thanks tkwinston4 for offering help. Probably best to text/ring owners on the telephone number above (which is now the correct one)
shell1149 I have sent an= couple of emails to you with our Doglost Advice which should help find Kizzy.
As you registered Kizzy on here for her owners please would you ensure that they are forwarded to Kizzy's owner.
It would also be helpful to have some more details as to where exactly Kizzy went missing from so helpers know where to start looking. Perhaps you or the owners can post on here please? Thanks.
Good luck with the search and let's hope Kizzy is found soon. Last edited: 2015-03-20 19:10:58 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2015-03-20 18:46 Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
- I have talked to the owner and they are doing all the right things, all local dws, vets, kennels contacted and posters being put up. It is now thought that Kizzy may have been stolen as a friend has told owner that someone nearby where she went missing told him that a couple knocked on his door and said that they had found a dog on the A27 and that they were going to take her to the police...this was Tuesday evening and it's now obvious they didn't hand her in. Please look out for Kizzy...do you know anyone that has recently acquired a Saluki? xxLast edited: 2015-03-20 18:47:18 by Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
