The Cotswold Show is at Cirencester Park (Glos) on the 7th and 8th of July and there are many BACS gundog events on both days so lots of Springers will be there, so could be well worth a visit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michelle I will reinterate this, it's a scam. For all owners out there never ever ever send photos of your dog for someone else to identify. If they have your dog, they will send YOU the photos for YOU to ID. Never ever send any cash to anyone emailing you. Michelle, block the email address on your computer, report it as a scam to the police (not that they will be able to do anything to africa) and return your search to the UK. It is not possible to get a dog out to africa from the UK and never has a stolen dog been found abroad. Move on from it, and treat it with the contempt it deserves. Michelle, please give me a call, i have read all the posts on its a spring thing, and this definately sounds like a scam to obtain money from you, if these people in Africa have your dog, they would be able to get someone to take a photo of her and send it to you, DO NOT send any money, you will lose it. Contact Jayne at Doglost HQ telephone number below, or send a pm to JAZZI, they will be able to help you with this, thanks BCLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A Springer was taken into valley vets in December, they also think it was early part of December, they didnt take any details down of the found dog, so dont know if it was a dog or bitch, and they say it was picked up by the dog warden for Caerphilly, ive spoken to Caerphilly council, who have no recolection of the dog, but say it would have been taken to kennels, ive called the kennels, and they are going to look back through there records, so awaiting a call back from them. I have e-mailed the poster to Cardiff Dogs home just in case although this isn't the local pound. Their number is 02920 711243 if you want to try to call them. Am going to get horse feed in the pet store at the bottom of power station hill tonigh (petwise or petsmart-can never remember the name) so I will put a poster up there for you. Have put posters on lamposts and bus stops in Pontypridd, Trallwn and CilfynyddLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michele: I just replied to your PM. Just in case you don't get it: I postered treforest bus stops, and various cafes, bingo hall, near the banks and post office on the industrial estate. The 24 Tesco store in Upperboat also kindly let me put an A4 poster up near the toilets and entrance to the cafe. In Tesco, a guy who saw me putting up the poster told me he found a dog that looked like yours wandering up the A470 near Pontypridd, but he thinks it was earlier in December rather than the time Georgia went missing. He took the dog to Valley Vets in Cardiff. I have found their telephone number for you it is 029 2052944 - I guess it is worth a try. I will put some posters up in my University campus this week too. Another place to try is Rhondda Valleys Animal Welfare. I have the number at home but am in work at the moment and have not got internet at home to e-mail it to you tonight. I have found a number on the internet 0709 284 3010 but this doesn't look right-you could try it though!! They re-home dogs and cats that have been found around mainly pontypridd but it's worth a try just in case as council dog pound would have been shut around xmas so they may have picked her up. They were very helpful when I lost my cat. Hope this helps xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You could go to the pound to see if she is there, it is in Porth somewhere. You could call to ask them exactly where they are. Have you called your local police station to ask them if anyone reported finding a dog? My dog went mising last year and she was found and reported to the police but not taken to the pound as the woman who found her wanted to keep her if she wasn't claimed!! She is chipped too but was not scanned. I was lucky in that the police kept a record of the woman calling and put me in touch with her!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope Georgia is reunited with her owners soon. Good that she is chipped. Owner and any helpers in the area poster a.s.a.p. Lamposts, handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers, ask postie, milkmen, binmen etc. A large A4 with enlarged photo can ideally be put in car windows. .
