So glad Polly has been found. Is that a proper shaped greyhound collar she is wearing, if it isn't there is a good chance she will slip out of it.

Came to look for progress in the red and when I could not find Polly I held my breath and YES here she is in the blue. That is the most fantastic news Sara, I know myself and others searching for Rennie have been following Polly...now we just need some good news from Ashdown Forest. Give Polly a hug from us! Kate

Polly has been reunited with her owners. She is being checked over at the vets as she has lost some skin off her pads & is a little thin, but otherwise she is ok.
Welcome home Polly :)
Gillian
Awww, hope you can contact the owner and really hope Polly will be OK.

Have you checked 84843 found Hampshire? Described as Lurcher, no gender, but seems to have white toes.Last edited: 2015-04-01 00:32:00 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Miriam
Posters all in reasonable condition. Spoke to volunteers on peregrine watch on Cann viaduct also NT warden. There's a path that goes from Wood Park all along the backs of the houses and comes out on Weir Rd behind the veterinary hospital which is more or less where she went in to Plym Woods on Thurs. I'll do that later.
sara
We're going to redo the ones we put up today too. Then going out on Roborough downs...
just in case.
Miriam
The signs I put up at Plymbridge have probably fallen apart by now so today I will be putting up new ones and handing out flyers to walkers and cyclists on the cycle path between Plym Bridge and the mile marker beyond the viaduct.
Anita
Walked our hounds right up into Cann Woods on Saturday and Sunday and also the top red path above the cycle track at Plymbridge, but no sight of her. Hopefully there will be a sighting soon.
Miriam
I will be heading to the cycllepath at Clearbrook and yelverton golf club today on the chance that she's gone north.
sara
Thank you Inka,I will do that first thing. No news unfortunately, but with today's weather I'd have been surprised if she was seen. X
Obemunster
Have you had any luck yet, Sara?
Inka
If you ring the Greyhound Board of Great Britain on Mon morning ( 020 7822 0900 ) and give them her racing name they will be able to tell you her micro chip number , she will also be earmarked .
If any rescue centres or dog wardens get her brought in they will often ring the GBGB or Retired Greyhound Trust ( 020 8335 3016 ) so It's worth making sure they know that you are looking for her .
sara
Im sure she'll be fine at catching food, our old greyhound could catch rabbits and she was a "failed puppy". Hopefully we find her today. Haven't ruled out any area accessible to the woods, but need somewhere to start as the area is huge!
Obemunster
Mainstone sounds promising :) give the vet hospital a ring to make them aware if you haven't already.
Obemunster
Plymbridge woods stretch quite a way, so I would consider any area accessible by them at least. Plympton wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility.
We have a group running for Missing Marble and Turner, it has been brilliant for spreading the word but we do have some communication problems with the dogs' owner. If you want any help/poster design for facebook beyond the Doglost ones, or anything else let me know. Hopefully you will have some sightings soon though and won't need it all.
It's worth ringing the local vets/kennels as the dog warden won't be working over the weekend and those are the next likely people who anyone will call-assuming they can catch her.
Going to walk my dogs now, will head down the estover industrial estate after with my very dog friendly boy and some treats.
I don't have a working printer til Monday but posters/flyers are important.

When was the last sighting?

We had a lost munster up country once who was found in a veg patch with his own supply of fresh venison.....!! Hopefully your girl is enjoying a bunny feast or something as an ex-racer and is keeping you worried for nothing x
sara
Possible sighting in Mainstone, waiting to see when it was. Hopefully recent as that would mean she's stayed around the area where she stopped running. I'll update when I know
sara
I'm happy for people to go and look. We don't know the area at all as only moved down here in November. So not sure where she's likely to go or likely hiding places. I guess if she's going to set up a territory it will include the industrial estate because of the bins. All help is very much appreciated. I'm going to start mapping where we've been (via strava) so that I can see where we've looked. Not to rule anywhere out but so I can see it on a physical map.

I saw Rennie's page yesterday, I'm so sorry she's still missing. Have you found a FB page has helped? X
Miriam
I left flyers at Papa Johns and Eastern Star as they both have delivery drivers who might see her. If you know of other food sources in the area contact them. She will be hungry.Last edited: 2015-03-28 08:54:00 by Miriam
Obemunster
Good thinking Miriam. I'll have a scout around Estover/Darklake today.
Miriam
Until we get some sightings it's difficult to know where to go and look. Estover industrial estate and Dark Lake View would be worth a look.
kjane85
Sorry to see Polly is missing, we are searching for Rennie in East Sussex under similar circumstances. May I suggest you visit site and speak to Sam or Trevor they might have some useful advice. All best wishes and good luck. I don't know how to attach the site but see Searching for Rennie.....x
Anita
Hi Sara we are friends of Miriam and have two greyhounds ourselves so would like to help in any way we can. We live around the corner from you in Widewell. Please let us know if we can search any particular areas. We've patrolled the local areas (Widewell, Woolwell, Belliver, Roborough) yesterday and this morning and did Belliver industrial estate last night but it seems she may have gone in the other direction. Miriam has my mobile number if you want to contact me directly. Got everything crossed that she's found safe soon.
Obemunster
If she has a tag on with your number then you are probably ok, but either way I would get in touch with whoever you got her from and say that she is missing, and leave a number with them in case her chip is scanned. How long has she been with you for? Any news yet?
Mollie
Hi Sara - so sorry to hear Polly has gone missing. Are there any organised searches going on or are you happy for people to go and have a wander around Plymbridge? I'm in Plymouth and I'm happy to take my grey, Frankie, up there tomorrow. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. I see Miriam's organised lots of tweets and posters etc - she's great and I'm sure will be a great help. Mx

I have added Polly's original name in case scanned and the name is searched on here.
sara
I don't know if chip details are up to date, I'm not even entirely sure if her ownership is officially mine yet. I did my part but the old owners had to send it off so it depends how urgent they thought it was I guess. If anyone does scan her, her name will probably be Daleroad Music, which I didn't think of before....but that's her actual name. I can't update her chip because the number isn't on her documents, which is a little frustrating. The vets etc, were given both sets of details and my number.

Thank you all so much for your help, it's really very humbling. xx
Miriam
Tweets sent to organisations connected with Plymouth and lots of followers asking them to retweet. Hopefully that way people will have Sara's number on their phone if they spot Polly.
Obemunster
Well done Miriam. I've sent this to my friend whose property backs onto plymbridge woods. Are her microchip details up to date Sara? I'll send to my vets too x
Miriam
Posters up at Plym Bridge, both sides. Also given flyers to Wrigley's, Estover Groomers, Secuirguard and CSA. At Clearbrook now to walk Billy. Will give flyer to pub. Need to tweet Dartmoor ranger and livestock officer.
Miriam
Posters would be a good. I'm off to Plym Bridge anywhere close would be good. I don't know about other dogs but I'm hoping having mine with me will be a good thing.
sara
Thank you everyone. Going out with posters now. She's spooked by everything, but more nervous of people than dogs. If seen can you contact me ASAP with location as the K9 search team are waiting to help but need a fresh scent. It's probably not worth trying to catch her unless she comes to you. I would imagine she's cold and hungry by now so may be a little more trusting out of need. She is very loved and missed and my daughter is convinced she'll be back by hometime so I'd really like to make that happen.

Thanks,

Sara
Obemunster
Close to me too, if I can do anything to help please let me know. Searches, posters etc. I'll keep an eye on this post. Hope she is home soon.
Is she friendly with other dogs or would they spook her?
Miriam
This is close to me. I will print off some posters and head off with my own greyhound soon.
