- I'm almost certain I know where this dog came from & if it is him, he is much better off in a new home. I have a holiday caravan in about 15 miles from where he was found & there is a family that live on site as the dad works there & they have had a few of these poor dogs at various times to train for hunting rabbits, they were kept outside & at some point they all seem to go 'missing' the most recent being the male puppy they got last year, not even sure they gave him a name or just called him dog :( they also had one they called bitch until last year. Anyway, this poor little fella really looks like him. I asked one of the kids a few weeks ago if they still had the puppy & he just said "na, it ran away!" I didn't get a chance to investigate further but could very likely be him & they aren't the sort of people that would have microchipped him. I am going there tomorrow so I will try & ask some stealth questions about when he 'ran away' etc. I don't think i will be mentioning this little fella though, would rather the finds a lovely new home if it is him. Would just be nice to know tha there isn't another poor little lost soul out there with nobody looking for him x

- I can't possibly think or say how this poor dog has been "living" in the past! However, the future must surely be looking a whole lot better now that he is in a better place with responsible loving people to help him for which I thank them. xx

- Update from finder, taken from facebook post.
"So here's the latest.....no microchip (grrr) so he's been taken by the dog warden who will hold him for 7 days at Viking Oak Kennels. http://viking-oakkennels.co.uk/ After that they will try and home him. I already have 2 charities prepared to take him in so I'll direct them to Viking Oak. I decided to call him Rodney ("This time next year Rodney....." I really hope he's a dog millionaire lol!!) and have sent him on his way with a www.redhoundfordogs.co.uk donut bed, a www.equafleece.co.uk jumper and a fleece blanket aswell as a belly full of food. The vet, Pierson Stewart and Partners kindly donated an advocat spot on treatment and a worming tablet so he's been well looked after. I'll keep an eye out for him and watch his progress. I'm sure someone will snap him up quickly, he's not only beautiful but so lovely and gentle. It's heartbreaking x"

- How awful to see such a beautiful dog in such a state. Poor lad but, as SpringerMad has said, so lovely to see him so warm and cosy (wearing a nice coat) in his bed! Bless this little boy and know he will find himself a nice new home and family to care for him (also hoping he's not claimed...). Wish we could have him (our Milly the Rottie wouldn't be amused) but our placid, easy-going NZ Huntaway would love his company. Thank you for caring for this sweet Saluki lad.Last edited: 2015-04-01 11:29:26 by Millys Mum
