Welcome home Cass :)) So pleased to see she is safe.
Well done to everyone involved. Great result :))
Well done Jenny Great advise yet again :))
Sammie
Well done Jenny, again! Thankfully you were there to advise the owner as I can see no co-ord contacted owner.
Bourne Vets
Sue, I was so so excited when you called to say Cass had been sighted again in Dippenhall. The tension could be felt by us all just waiting to see if you had found Cass. We are all so pleased you have Cass back. Rowledge is celebrating today. Can't wait for a walk with you and our girls. Jx
sheltielover
I am so relieved SueD that Cass is home. Patience and the public who sighted him informing you of his whereabouts did the trick. I am in Liss and had been posting for you in this area just in case. Just got back from taking them down.
Archsuzanne
So happy Cass is home , stay safe xx
SueD
Hi all yes my beautiful baby is home, I found him today after a call from a lovely couple in Dipenhall , it took a couple of hours but eventually I found him and after around 30 minutes he came to me and then lay down beside me. Thank you all so very much for all your help finding Cass, Sue x
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Cass - is home, very thin and tired. I got a quiet call from owner this afternoon saying she was sitting with Cass in a field. Owner will update shortly - so happy for Cass and owner.
SueD
No further sightings since Tuesday 10pm Gravel Hill near A31. was out last night until 9.45 pm. Thanks for all your help. Please do not call for Cass or approach him as he is likely to be in state of panic. but call me on 07747 074658 if you spot him.. he is wearing black collar with silver tag. Thank you, sue
SueD
My join request to I love Farnham not yet accepted so if people can keep checking I would be grateful. 4 sightings now all on Monday in same road, thanks again, Sue
angiem
Yes, that's the one on Facebook, I have asked him to call you. Good luck x
SueD
Thanks angie, is that I love farnham on Facebook? Asked to join last night, and will look , hopefully he will contact me as I am thinking I may need help from a specialist , also talking to Jenny k9 tracker who has given loads of tips. Thank you again for all your help, Sue
angiem
Yes it is Sue, I Love Farnham Surrey (no Spam version) can you get, onto it and you'll see the posts. Gary is going to get in touch with his guy and contact you! Xx
SueD
H angie just seen your message - is that on the I love farnham Facebook page? I guess we need another sighting now as nothing for 2 days? May be worth me trying this army guy, does the website gave his contact details? I am also in do tact with Jenny the k9 tracker , thanks for all your help, Sue
SueD
Hi. I have been advised that people shouldn't call out Cass' name as this could worry him. If you spot him please do not look at him but turn, walk away and call me on 07747 074658, thanks again for your help , Sue
angiem
Hi Sue, just had a message from the Farnham website which could be helpful, I'll paste it....
Where in rowledge is it, when I am back at the weekend I often walk as it's getting dark and that and sunrise is the time they often reappear, there is a welsh ex army guy who will come up and trap the dog just for his fuel cost he has a 100% success record. I will speak to collie rescue and get his details. He even camos out in the area too. He is one amazing guy.
SueD
Meant angle sorry! Thanks so much everyone, still no sightings today but another 30 posters going up and so many people looking. By the way please do not call out for Cass as even this will spook him, just call me and walk away , thank u , sue
SueD
Thanks Angus spoke to the k9 tracker ( on face book) last night and she said same thing, good advice will try this morbing , Sue
angiem
Great advice, if you spot him you may have to just sit for a long while!! You will have to get his trust again. I do know that if you don't look them in the eyes and talk softly it helps. Managed to catch a dog myself that way, once I had his attention and trust I walked the other way and he followed me. Hope you get there!! Xx
SueD
I have just spoken to a k9 dog tracker specialist Jenny and she said we shouldn't call him as this may freak him out, if I see him I mus simply sit down with food and talk normally so he can realise it's me. I will tr tomorrow as I have been calling and whistling loudly which may have been the wrong thing. Thanks Aden for all your help!
angiem
My thoughts too, think he might be trying to get back to Rowledge!! With all the posters and publicity and Facebook friends word will get round!!! At least we know he can look after himself, little bugger!!!! Keep,in touch and just know we are thinking of you xxx
Aden
hi Sue as someone else said don't give up it is still early days- a greyhound ran from a rescue I help with on bonfire night, he was gone 10 days and they got him home in one piece!
Everyone at work has heard about Cass through Facebook so word is defiantly going round. Have you told jolly farmer? ((I'm sure you have but if not I can call in and tell them)) I keep checking this page every couple of hours we are all thinking of you xx
SueD
Thank you angie, I have left a crate by road there , covered with his blanket and food Inside and will go back there tonight shortly to see if he is there.. Been told by a guy walking from Bentley station that the area behind bird world is often where lost dogs go, maybe food there., will go there tomorrow ... We now know he seems to have done a loop so maybe trying to get bAck to Rowledge and at least there is plenty of water and food sources in this area. Thanks for continuing to look,, so much appreciated everyone's help. You have all been so kind. Aden I put posters up around Bentley today. No sightings so far today, lAst two sightings were last night at 6 and 8pm both near gravel hill..
angiem
Been there too several times Sue, you are doing all the right things!! Don't give up hope, just keep us informed on more sightings. Really feel for you!!! Xxxxx
SueD
2 sightings now on gravel hill near little bridge at 6pm and 7.30, been there several times today but nothing since ,
angiem
Gravel Hill Road, 1st turning on the right after Birdworld and Forest Lodge.
SueD
Road may be called gravel hill, not sure but gravel something, and it's signposted to the Forrest research centre , thank you for all your help, sue
angiem
Just got back from walking all along the back of Alice Holt Research Centre up to Bentley, a few other people looking as well. Lots of posters up everywhere so fingers crossed for more news soon. Please keep us posted.
SueD
Hi Aden thank you, just had info that he was near jolly farmer pub running binsted way on Sunday, but last night between Alice holt research centre and a31 neAr Bentley. Have left a crate wit blanket covering it and food near where he was seen on gravel pit lane near bridge. Thanks jacqui for looking too.. Sue ps he has a black collar on with a silver tag
Bourne Vets
Went looking this morning at 6.45 for about 45 mins. Took my dogs. Rather misty so hard to see across the fields but no sign. Met Sue the owner a little later and she is leaving his crate out with his bedding where he was last sighted. Also posting all around the area. Couple in one of the few houses has a clear view from their window and they are also out looking. He works his dogs so good to have near.
Aden
hi Sue have just seen he was spotted in Bentley I work there so will spread the word and keep a look out for him- have also been walking my dog 3 times a day Bordon way but saw nothing. Kjane85 I (think) he has a yellow collar on.Last edited: 2015-04-07 06:54:59 by Aden

Leatherhead Rd, Ashstead Woods....loose Lurcher could this be Cass I don't know area...wearing red collar.
Bourne Vets
He was seen around farmland just beyond Alice Holt Research Centre. Think road is called Gravel Hill.
angiem
Good news Sue, keep us posted exactly where!!! I can keep everyone on the Farnham Facebook page updated, there are a lot of concerned local people!!! Xxx Will also come out and try to look out if there are any sightings!! Xxx
SueD
Had a sighting about an hour ago in country lane near a31 Bentley, at least he is nearby and looked well apparently. Will go first thing tomorrow , thanks everyone
angiem
Good luck Sue, yes that was me, I know there are lots of people looking out and the posters are everywhere so should help!!! Good luck, we'll keep looking xxxx
SueD
Going to go out again next with some hot iamb ( thanks for tip jenny).. Otherwise no news , thanks angie for your help too, are you the lAdy in the car? Have put posters all around the area. Just hoping we get a sighting soon
Bourne Vets
Kate and myself just got back from Alice Holt. Kate went to Kingsley and I went to Country Market and put word out to everyone with dogs and more. Les has been out with our dogs and been really off road in and around Alice Holt for about 90 mins. Will go out late evening again when quiet.
angiem
Just heading to Alice Holt, I will put up some posters and ask people for sightings. Just read about dogs always travelling in a triangle, could make sense!!! X
SueD
Aden thank you just seen your post about ria. May try call Andrew. Yes Cass escaped out of my back garden.
SueD
Have searched woods just south of Alice holt and put posters up, last seen yesterday around 2 running towards Alice holt woods. Thank you for keeping eyes out for him , wardens in Alice holt are also looking but it will get v busy there today and he is so scared of people he may run farther afield
SueD
Thank you both so much, I as just a going out now. If it was him, could have been a deer it is the woods on the other side of road where entrance to Alice holt is - further down . So go out of Rowledge on cherry tree road carry on out to the blue bell, turn right at the blue bell and the woods are over the road at the end if thus road.. Thank you both so much
Bourne Vets
Hi Sue, Jacqui here from Bourne Vets. I will call you early in morning to help search. Have sent you my mobile number to your phone so you can contact me. Be strong.
angiem
Sue, can you post tomorrow exactly where you last saw him and if you have any sightings, exactly where.. I will happily come and have a scout around. It has been shared on Facebook so there are a lot of people aware. I know you won't sleep much tonight but there are a lot of people thinking of you!!! Xxxx
Aden
have just seen this about another lost dog maybe he can help if you have no luck tomorrow? X

UPDATE: RIA IS STILL RUNNING SCARED IN THE HAVANT AREA BUT THERE IS AN EXPERIENCED FERAL DOG CATCHER (ANDREW) INVOLVED AND HE BELIEVES THE BEST CHANCE OF CATCHING HER IS WITHOUT ANY INVOLVEMENT OF OTHERS OTHER THAN REPORTING SIGHTINGS OF HER WHICH ARE TO BE DIRECTLY TO ANDREW. RIA HAS LIVED ON THE STREETS BEFORE IN SPAIN & IS VERY SMART & SHE IS VERY MUCH AWARE THAT PEOPLE ARE FOLLOWING HER SO PLEASE, IF ANYONE LIVES IN THE AREA, PLEASE DO NOT TRY & CATCH HER.

IF YOU DO HAPPEN TO SEE HER PLEASE CONTACT ANDREW URGENTLY ON 07768 086839 - ANY SIGHTINGS
Aden
this is such a shame :( did he escape from your Garden? Hopefully he has found somewhere quiet to rest for the night as he ran a fair few miles when I was with him! I will keep checking this and will keep an eye out for him. Like you say if he was quite ferrel anyway he will be used to fending for himself and will cope much better than a household puppy! Such a shame being a lurcher he can run fast!! He certainly out ran all of us- it was so nice to see how many dog lovers there were stopping to help. Perhaps try putting his bedding and some food in a spot tomorrow that might entice him x Last edited: 2015-04-05 21:00:10 by Aden

Have you put some used clothing where you seen him last ?he may realise you smell familiar ....people must try not to chase him as hard as it is as he will now be petrified .early morning is a great time to go out try taken some smelly hot food too xxxx
SueD
Thank you for the updates Aden and Jenny, I have just come home as it is too dark now. I thought I glimosed him in some woods just south of Alice holt forest but if it was him ( could have been a small deer as I am short sighted) hen he fled for me too so must be in a real state of panic. I will go back to these woods at dawn and have also knocked on several houses nearby and given out my number. I am fostering Cass from hart council at the moment , have only had him 3 weeks and he is still very nervous. However he was sitting on my lap having a cuddle 10 mins before he paniced and ran away. I just hope we will have more luck tomorrow but I doubt anyone will have caught him as he wont let anyone near, it is almost like he was a feral dog before I got him, never been in a house , tried to walk through glass etc,,.. So I imagine he had lived as a stray for q some time so is prob q adept at surviving. Thanks again for your comments, Sue
angiem
I saw him in Rowledge this morning but he wouldn't come to me, found the owner and really hoped shed find him. I've posted on two Farnham Facebook pages and its being shared all over!! So hope you get your Cass back!!! Xxx
Jenny
Oh no he must be terrified. I have shared on Facebook, hope you find him soon
Aden
We first saw him the turning after Forest Lodge where 2 boys also stopped (might explain why he ran so fast away). He then ran back along a325 towards Bordon. Another car stopped with a dog and got out and walked the dog in the hope he would go with them. He then ran back towards forest lodge where a lady had also and was running along after him. Last place we saw him was on A325 between dockenfield and Alice holt. Like I say all the traffic stopped to catch him but he was having none of it. I really hope you find him - with a bit luck someone has him and are waiting for vets to open??? Fingers crossed for him and you. Please keep us updated- I will keep a look out.
SueD
Thank you Aden so much for stopping and trying to catch Cass. Which part of A325 was that? He was rescued a few weeks ago and has been badly mistreated I am afraid so panics if anyone tries to come close, except me at the moment.mi have been driving around all afternoon. He is particularly scared if young men , I think he has been beaten. Please do keep a look out for him. I am going to drive Bordon way again now . Thanks again so much, Sue 07747 074658 is my no by the way
Linda D
How nice that so many people stopped and tried to help. I live in Upper Hale and walk in Farnham Park, which is a bit away, but will keep my eyes open and put the word about. I do know someone who lives in Borden. Here's hoping when he gets tired and hungry he'll be easier to catch.
Aden
hi I drove along the a325 about 1pm today- myself and 3 other cars stopped and he ran straight past us all- even with dog treats. He then carried on up the road with at least 30 cars stopping either side - a man even tried to rugby tackle him and he got away!! So sorry you still haven't got him I will keep a look out as I live in Bordon.
