You can't exactly hide an Otterhound - they are BIG dogs, and very prone to 'singing'. Otterhound folk around the country have been alerted to Tangle's disappearance.

By co-incidence Tangle is a half-sister to Hesper who went missing in Birmingham, so the owner is aware that she may be recorded as a crossbreed! I understand that the police are involved, and for once are taking this seriously, as Tangle went missing from a gated community.

Gosh, thats a name I haven't heard in a while. My Dads old springer had the same name. Hope your Tangle is back with you soon, but PLEASE take on board what Jazzi has said about Tangle being mistaken for a crossbreed!!!

As Tangle is not a very common breed a coloured picture would be better so people have more of an idea what she looks like. Just spoken to owner on telephone. A coloured photo will be sent in shortly. Tangle is going in the local paper and a coloured picture was required, which they will be getting back. Good that she is tattooed. Hope she is found soon. Any helpers in the area need to poster area a.s.a.p. Lamposts, entrances to parks, handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers, ask postie, milkmen, binmen etc. I have asked owner to register and keep us informed of what has been done etc. Regards Jan x

Last time we dealt with an Otter hound in Birmingham, it ended up in local pound booked in as a crossbreed! Might be worth mentioning this to the owner.
