- Oh no! This is what happened to Amber a while back. I know it makes no sense and I have to keep my own thoughts private, but I have been told that sometimes their insides have taken too much of a bashing and it is not always apparent until later on. I understand all the comments aired on here. We can only trust it was the right thing. I so pray it was. God bless little one, safe in God's arms. x

- So sad to read this. No more pain.Don't think it's right to blame people who loved and cared for him the last 6 weeks. All sorts of unseen problems would have been caused by the dreadful treatment he had suffered. Run free boy bless you x
- 2015-05-26 18:41 fionap58
- RSPCA bashing seems to be a common sport! Take the dog in, dedicate weeks of care and hundreds of pounds, then put him to sleep for no good reason? More likely that the shocking level of starvation led to other problems and behaviour problems surfaced when he was feeling stronger. Please don't blame the RSPCA who save hundreds of dogs just as bad as this one each year, blame the rotten excuses for humans who did it to him in the first place. RIP Whispa x

- I agree Angelmort. RSPCA again.
- 2015-05-26 11:30 Angel
- They wanted to '...ease his suffering...'. So why let him suffer for another 6 weeks after being found when I suspect they knew they would be doing this in the end anyway. RIP little one x

- Can't believe this has happened. Wispa looked so well on his updated photo. Health and behavioural problems?? Was this another RSPCA decision? So sorry Wispa didn't make it - a young life cut short by evil people. Run free at the bridge, beautiful Wispa - no one can hurt you now xxx

- I anm deeply sadened to read this. After rallying so well, Wispa did not deserve to die. At least he enjoyed some good food and compassion before he crossed the bridge.

- No problem and totally agree with you. He certainly is looking a lot better. Still a little way to go on body weight I guess and then of course he has to learn to trust. I so wish I were in a position to offer him all of these things and more but I think my Border Collie would move out!

- He is looking better and I hope he is not left with side affects from the awful cruelty that he has had to endure for such along time. Well Wispa you made it to all the newspapers now we need to know the people who done this to you so they can be punished, named and shamed.Last edited: 2015-04-22 07:20:52 by BUBBLES

- DIFFERENT DOG. The photos on the Stratford Dog Warden Site are of the dog now named as Buddy Dog Id 84958 found in a similar distressing condition. This one on this page has been named as Wispa. Last edited: 2015-04-15 09:16:42 by ClaireC

- There are some photos on Stratford DC dog warden Facebook page. They made my heart very glad! What a difference a week makes.
- 2015-04-14 18:42 ClaireC
- collieowner, I don't think there are any yet. Posts below are referring to another dog that was found in a similar condition unconnected to each other.

- If successful in finding owner then hope the verdict is one that will justice for this dog and the many others that are being found in similar conditions recently. Let the verdict be a warning please judge(s).

- Since Wispa was in the newspapers the RSPCA have had a lot of calls they are gradually sifting through them all and I would think this takes a lot of time. A waiting game now I really hope the owner of this dog is found and prosecutedLast edited: 2015-04-11 14:30:16 by BUBBLES

- I've just checked out Buddy's latest photo - it certainly lifted my heart and just amazing. And so I'm looking forward to a similar update (and photo, of course!) for dear sweet Wispa. Another thought is that if this dear dog Wispa has plenty of help what about a fund start up as a reward given leading to a successful prosecution? - GillyP I listed the other emaciated dog Buddy 84958 and I have just tried to update 1 of the pics to show the massive improvement in just 10 days with the care from the staff looking after him and the site will not let me update the poster images. I can only add links to the images.
- 2015-04-10 13:05 BUBBLES
- The dog will be looked after and given small meals to build him up. The RSPCA have said he has everything he needs. Buddy the bull breed came in looking skeletal now a huge transformation in just 10 days. I am keeping my eyes on this dogs progress and will update when I know more. It makes me ashamed to think another so say human being has done this.
- 2015-04-10 12:45 Adele
- IT'S NOT sags, HOW CAN SOMEONE DO THAT TO THIS POOR DOG.
MY HEART HURTS JUST LOOKING AT THE PICTURE.
ADELE - 2015-04-10 12:36 Millys Mum
- Just so shocking. It made me gasp when I saw the photo of this poor, poor Staffie boy. Just when you think you've seen it all, yet another terrible, terrible case rears its ugly head. I so hope the person (or people) who did this will be located and locked up, with the keys thrown away. Like others have said, I'm happy to contribute (if needed) to 'Wispa's' recovery fund. I'm sure this lad will be receiving plenty of TLC but I need to know he's got a really cosy, comfy bed to rest his frail body. Looking forward to updates and better photographs. Bless Wispa xxLast edited: 2015-04-10 12:40:21 by Millys Mum

- Bubbles, do you think the pics could be updated when Wispa is looking better?
- 2015-04-10 09:14 ClaireC
- Personally don't think this is Sags as Sags was 6 years old when he went missing in 2013 and this one appears to be a young adult. I know Sags is/was chipped.Last edited: 2015-04-10 09:21:13 by ClaireC

- Horrified when I saw this... So close to home.
Can the media be brought into the frame to help find whoever allowed this to happen. A neighbour must know...

- What about Sags? http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=49062#.VSbjUpPahL8
Looking at the photos of both dogs you can see a dark spot/marking on the base of the tail. Also it looks like Sags has markings on his left ear like the found dog. Lost Surrey Quays, London February 2013
Looking at the photo posted by Kira on RSPCA page it looks like that one has darker right ear than this one.
Question: Can pigmentation on a dogs nose change when it is in poor condition?

- Maybe a new name will mean a new life in a new loving forever home with the greatest respect shown to this poor poor dog. I am still of the mind that this is a long deliberate act of cruelty and I just hope that on behalf of this dog that somebody somewhere knows more and has the guts and common decency to call the RSPCA and name and shame.

- Yes agree Gilly legs too long, so sad xx
- 2015-04-09 17:46 BUBBLES
- I have sent a message to the RSPCA with all the information I have including photo's of Rocky. One of the photos shows what looks like a tan patch on the side of Rocky's neck which was not mentioned on the description of Wispa. If the owners of this dog are ever to be found the name Wispa needs to be removed and left blank as that is not the dogs name only what the vet staff named him
- 2015-04-09 17:10 BUBBLES
- I think the RSPCA will rehome the dog, this dog will need special care for along while yet. He will need to build up trust quite possibly will need someone around most of the day to show him unconditional love.
- 2015-04-09 16:31 Unknown
- Oh so its the lady who posted. I presume she can have him back (if the RSPCA allow it). Rocky had the leather bit wondered if Wispa had it on the collar as you cannot see it.
- 2015-04-09 16:17 BUBBLES
- The original owner of Rocky tried calling the RSPCA but the call used up all her credit. When she responds to my message I will ask about the collar. It would be far better if I could get the RSPCA to call her. What she did tell me was she originally comes from Northumberland and moved and could not take Rocky with her and she thought she had rehomed him to caring people.
- 2015-04-09 15:46 Unknown
- I looked at him Skywalker99 but he looked too short legged!

- I just can't believe how people can be so evil.Poor poor dog. At least now with people caring for him. Get well soon boy. I have my own 5 year old staffie they are so trusting and people abuse them. This has reduced me to tears. Stay strong Wispa you will find a loving home when you are better xx

- Its shocking what goes on behind closed doors, i cannot believe that nobody had seen this dog prior to him being dumped in an alley and only then was seen by the inspector who found him, praying for a thorough recovery for wispa and that he ends up in a forever loving home that deserves him xxx

- “I am amazed Wispa was still alive, he was so thin and in such an awful state. You could see all his ribs very clearly.
“We think he probably was just abandoned somewhere and was walking and straying until he just collapsed.
“He could not even get to his elbows to stand when he was brought in, but he is eating and drinking well and has already made such great progress over the weekend. He can sit up and hold his head now, which he couldn’t before. And yesterday he even had a short walk into the garden - which is amazing progress and more than we at first hoped for.
“The staff at the vets where he is being kept called him Wispa after the chocolate because it was Easter, and because he has such a quiet and gentle nature despite the horrible hand he has been dealt.
“We would really like to hear from anyone who knows anything at all about how he came to be dumped so callously in such a horrible state, on 0300 123 8018.”
– RSPCA INSPECTOR CAROLINE RICHARDSON
