Welcome home princess! A shame that this DW isn't of the same fantastic ilk as many of the ones we "meet" via doglost. xx

I would also agree that any dog should have a visible tag on with owners mobile number on as well as any other details they choose to put on there. On my deaf dogs I also have a coloured tag on a separate ring saying I AM DEAF I SHOULD NOT BE OUT ALONE plus my mobile number. So if one gets lost the dog still has one tag on whilst you replace the other. Also if someone sees the deaf tag they may call the owner a lot of people will not bother if the dog has no tag on as what do they do with the dog. Just a thought.

I would add that if dog has visible id tag the finder - i.e people like me on several occasions who don't have a scanner - can immediately contact owner saving me, the dog and the owner a lot of bother. if dog has id tag and dog warden involved I imagine the same procedure would happen - take dog to council kennel because the dog was straying, and it gives owner opportunity to understand the dangers to his dog and traffic etc of a loose dog.

Cheshire west and chester my council - I just phoned to ask procedure.they pick up dog take it to the kennels used by cwac. on arrival at kennel they scan dog immediately. they keep ringing until make contact but not sure fo how many days.... dog warden so many dog owners DONT UPDATE THEIR DETAILS

Pleased to hear Princess is now home safe and sound. To deviate a bit re Ronnie CSSs' comment. Does anyone know, is it law that the dog wardens must check collar ids and microchips and try to return dogs Before they go into kennels and the fees start? Do they work on a commission / bonuses? which would explain why some seem to prefer to take dogs straight to kennels.

Princess is mictochipped, so I would have thought they would have checked for one, and contacted you sooner welcome home Princess. stay safe now sweetheart:-)xxx

Princess is now home where she belongs :)
Her owner has paid the fees, but intends to appeal against some of them.
I hope that warden was taken to task Ronnie CSS

This seems to be a common problem with our area's dog wardens. This isn't the first I've heard of them not making any attempt to trace the owner on finding the dog. They take them half way down the coast to a shelter and then expect the owners to pay for the "accommodation" of the animal. Shame on them! As I'm so pleased that Princess is safe and well I'd be happy to contribute towards the fees. As an aside, my friend's dog went walkabout last week & was returned to her by the warden who claimed the dog had no ID. Hidden in the back of the warden's van was the dog's collar WITH tag still attached.

Princess has been located safe and has been under the Bournemouth dog wardens care since the day she went missing despite her owner making numerous calls over the weekend.
They are refusing to release Princess until kennel fees are paid for the entire weekend and mounting no doubt.
I have advised her owner to put in an official complaint producing the evidence which she does have of her calls as she is going to struggle to meet the bill.

Still no news on my princess and now staring to give up hope, almost 3 days and not one definite sighting even though her pictures have been shared far and wide. Please please please somebody somewhere must know something.

Still no news of Princess :(
I've added her microchip details to to her page for which contact numbers have been updated.
Helpers have been out searching today and there was an unconfirmed sighting of a dog running loose heading towards Turbury Common but we have no way of knowing if it was her or not.
Her owner is desparate for news and naturally very worried as Princess is deaf and does need special medical attention.

hope you find her quickly x
