What lovely news to start the day! Well done little Winnie for finding her way home... well almost. Sorry I'm unable to get back to take posters down as my diary is crammed for the next week. I put up 10 laminated posters in all, mostly on the main paths, in car parks and on barriers. Maybe a trip back to the vet to get that microchip would be a good idea?Last edited: 2015-05-01 08:36:16 by alikat

I walked around the perimeter of the common this afternoon and put up 10 laminated posters. My friend and I also spoke to everyone else we saw to let them know the situation. We met the owner's son and her sister, who were both out searching on bicycles. We also met the kind gentleman who had been searching since this morning (must be Taipan) with his lovely Weimaraner Albert. Minnie is only six months old and very, very small - much smaller than my Border Terrier. She has also had her coat trimmed since the poster photo was taken. She is not microchipped because, unbelievably, the vet recommended this was not done until she is neutered. I wonder what that vet will do next year when microchipping becomes law? Mole Valley dog warden has been informed, and all the local vets. I am adding here the link to Jenny and her wonderful tracker dog Tiga and would urge the owner to contact her. Even if she isn't able to get there, she has a wealth of very useful advice to offer: http://www.k9tracker.co.uk/

On way now, fingers crossed.

Just decided to make Bookham Common the location of my afternoon walk. I will park in the Mark Oak car park and walk from there. Always carry nice smelly liver cake treats and a slip lead; just printing some posters which I will laminate. Adding contact numbers to my mobile phone..... fingers crossed. My Border Terrier is very friendly and has had some wonderful games with Cockerpoos in the past so Winnie will be greeted happily if she comes near us.
Nanna07
Thanks for that Paula, will get over there tea time unless this little one is found.
PaulaK
Just poke to walker who was looking after Winnie when she went missing at 9am this morning. Owner is away but is on her way back. Winnie is wearing a collar and tag - she went missing at the top part of Bookham common - they parked in the mark oak carpark - hope that makes sense not a great phone line - then you walk down the track and she vanished on the left hand side - she was spooked by dogs barking.Last edited: 2015-04-30 13:09:47 by PaulaK

Can you let me know which part of the common and we can get over there later today with posters.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
We don't have Cockerpoo on our drop down menu so have put Cockerpoo on poster.
alikat
Description of breed should surely read Cockerpoo and not Cocker Spaniel? She's unlikely to get as far over in RH5 as my area and unfortunately I have commitments that can't be altered for the next few days. Will follow and maybe get out with some posters after the weekend. Hope she is found soon - it would be helpful to know if she is chipped and, if not, the owner needs to keep in close contact with all vets, dog wardens and rescue kennels so she doesn't slip through the net.
Snowy
Do you know where abouts on Bookham Common Winnie went missing?
