The only facts known are that the dog was found injured, a vet practice gave her treatment and that she is well and gone to the local dog pound - with the amount of public interest generated, she now has an excellent chance of getting a rescue space. The vet practice have deleted the whole thread concerning this dog as I'm assuming it turned into an abusive trial by Facebook. The stated owner is the only one who can answer any of these questions - clearly she won't be doing so. All very sad but with the number of staffies killed everyday in dog pounds due to lack of rescue space - Patch will be one of the fortunate ones I hope.
Jaycey
This is so sad..Patch has been part of owners family for 12 years, then cast out and left to roam the streets..and worse than that, with injuries and probably in shock...Why was she allowed to come into contact with the other dog..The owner should be made accountable for her callous actions and I hope Patch finds a new forever home with people who genuinely love her...poor baby ♥ xx Last edited: 2015-05-09 09:27:17 by Jaycey

From reading all the comments regarding this dog and her owner sounds like the dog needs a new home. A dog is never born bad and cannot choose who there owner is, shame I cannot say the same about this owner.Last edited: 2015-05-09 08:31:17 by BUBBLES

Claire, I really hope they are going to take her, they are amazing as you say just look at Buddy now. He looks like a different dog and acts like a happy playful silly boy.
ClaireC
I think this dog may be going to lifecommitmenrrescue who are absolutely wonderful people.they took in Buddy who was found in an emaciated condition and in the short short time he is such a changed dog.Last edited: 2015-05-08 13:09:33 by ClaireC

I also agree with mathers22
Angel
Good point Veronica. We seem to have forgotten about the other dog. I do hope it's ok and I hope someone can point that owner in the direction of 'Patch's' owner to pay for the vets bill.
Angel
Totally agree with mathers22 and Padders26. Very concerning the 'owner' allowed this dog to be/stay on the loose when she was frightened at what it may do to her child after the 'unprovoked' attach on another dog, and her. What about other peoples children and dogs whilst her dog was on the loose? It amazes me how some people manage to figure out how to get out of bed in the morning. Whatever happens in the end, I hope it's done in the interest of 'Patch'.
Veronica
Has anyone heard what happened to the other dog in this fight? I wonder if she owns them both or if there's another injured dog hiding somewhere out there.
digbysmum
Do hope there is a happy ending for dear Patch xxx
Bo
"Patch" has now been transferred to the local DW and the vet practice state she's well. A friend of the person saying that they are the owner has said this dogs name is Patch.
mathers22
I think the owner should be prosecuted for abandoning the dog. Totally unnecessary and cruel x
Padders26
She's definitely not a bait dog and personally I think there is more to the story than the owner is letting on? still doesn't explain why she was left to roam around the streets all morning with such awful wounds. At lease she is now safe x
Padders26
Owner traced and she no longer wants the dog, the dog is currently with the dog warden then a rescue will step in after the 7 days. This dog got into a fight with another dog and the owner stepped in to split them up and she got bitten so she no longer wants the dog

Have removed offending wording.

admin - would it b possible to remove the words 'bait dog' from the description above. it's now been highlighted that it was in a fight with another dog. thank you:)
Chilebat
There is no excuse for the terrible condition that this dog was left in when she was found whatever she is meant to have or not done. I hope you continue to recover well little one and I'm hoping you find yourself a lovely new home x

I managed to change my comments, but you could be right jenny3
Bo
The owner is getting a trial by Facebook savaging on the vets page.
Unknown
Staffords dont always like other dogs.its doubtful she ''turned ''on the owner more than likely she was trying to get the other dog......so did the owner just dump her them? Its not very clear....hope she gets a home soon xx
Bo
The edit function isn't allowing to correct below. I think you get the gist.
Bo
So it seems this lady Fegita owns this dog - this dog then turned on another dog and whilst trying to separate the 2, the owner was bitten and ended up in hospital. The owner would now like tore home the dog. If all true then
1. This dog isn't a bait dog - she went for another dog and the owner tried to separate..
2. This dog bit her owner and the owner went to hospital to be treated
3. The owner would like to now rehome her dog.Last edited: 2015-05-05 12:08:28 by Bo

Her owner has commented on the vets page "
Fegita Simms im fegita simms shes my dog she got into a fight with another dog an i tryd splitting em up an she turnd on me i have a son to think about. iv had her for 12 years an she has never ever bit ne one until now she carnt be near other dogs. but im so sorry it ended up this way but had to let her go. she needs a new home with no animals."

Appauling she has been subjected to this type of torture. She needs a big chance to get a good home or found by an owner. She never deserved this treatment. Big thank you needs to go to those caring for her. How many more are suffeing in such obscene attacks?
Bo
From the vet practice who have this dog under their care
"Do you recognise this dog?!
She is currently under our care. The relevant authorities are aware. It has been claimed that she has been used as 'bait' we can not confirm or deny this.
Her wounds have been treated and she is in good spirits.
As per legal requirements, she will go into the care of the dog warden.
It seems that she has gone viral on social media in the past 24 hours, there are posts which claim that she has been put to sleep, just to confirm that this is not true. She has been for walkies this morning and is now having a belly rub.
Please contact us on 01283240580 if you know who she belongs to. She does not have a microchip"

the dogs facial patch is on the right side of her face, the pic here is reversed
Esther
Bubbles, thank you for trying to get her a rescue place. I hope the police are trying very hard to find who ever used her as bait. This is of great concern to us all, particularly those of us close to this area. Please keep us informed

CG
Skyninchar the photos on Facebook you mention are reversed and the dogs patch is on left side of face not right as in these photos. Please check as owner may not recognise as theirs with reverse markings.

AT least if lost or stolen an owner can see the pics of her. Quite a few rescue centres have enquired about her and one in particular is very keen on helping her.

She has been to the vet and had all her wounds sorted (stitched). Out for a short walk and ate all her food. She has not and will not be put to sleep. Her 7 days in the pound have to be carried out to enable an owner time to find her.

How can I upload the latest full picture of this dog. I cannot send the picture on the contact us form. There are several more pictures showing the dogs head face & profile. Not able to put a link to the photo as I presume the setting is private.

To add to bedsbabes comment, mother of owner and owner are hoping it is Lady DL No 67856.
