- Sadly it has been confirmed that Marlo has gone to Rainbow Bridge. Network Rail have just collected him and his owner has him now.
Such a very sad ending for sam cemeri and family. - 2015-05-05 22:25 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Had a phone call from Network Rail, they say they will be going out this eve to check and retreive. Samantha messaged me to say husband had been to have a look and is sure it is Marlo .. very sad x
- 2015-05-05 20:46 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Thanks TK for being with sam this evening. She is obviously heart broken.
I also spoke to Network Rail asking them to go out there straight away to check on Marlo. I understand that sam's husband is going to go to have a look for Marlo who is on the side of the track on the bridge going over Bexhill Rd right by the cafe. I have advised them that it is not safe to go on the track or the bridge as it's Network Rail property (it's trespassing) Network Rail assure me that they will go first thing tomorrow to fetch Marlo.
I will only move this page when it has been confirmed that it is Marlo. - 2015-05-05 20:24 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Spoke to owner earlier this eve, she was on train earlier coming back from work, she thinks she has spotted Marlo laying next to rail track near to where he went missing, We have spoke to Network Rail and they have said they will check & retrieve either this eve or first thing in morning .. so very sad x

- Had a walk round the filsham fields as well this morning, was busy with all the school children so perhaps not the best time to go but frankie was due his walk, didn't see anything I'm afraid, very strange there's been no sightings at all, let's hope for positive news very soon

- Just got back, Parked by Old Stamco, followed path up behind Railway Cottages where Marlo chased the fox, went right up to the end and back down half way, then went out thro Keymer Close... Went over onto fields off Filsham, had good walk around, there are a few fast flowing streams about over there..
Made way down past West St Leonards Station, and along to end of car park by Poundland etc...
Then crossed Road & had a walk along by old bathing pool and along back of TA building..
Spotted a few posters about which is good...
Then had a drive up Filsham Rd, down Gresham Rd, Fernside, Reedswood Rd area, back up Wishing Tree, Blackman Ave to home..
Seems so strange there have been no sightings, maybe someone has him, but am thinking by now, someone must of seen him, with all the Fb shares locally..
Did he return to the cafe area that night and go down on beach, could he have been swept away ..? Is he stuck somewhere..? And the Railway line is so close, but Network Rail are aware I believe..
Have everything crossed there will be some good news soon...Last edited: 2015-05-05 12:49:25 by TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex - 2015-05-04 20:49 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Have any leaflets been put thro houses up Keymer Close ..?

- No news and no sightings at present. Called chase vets and coopers as well as Viking kennels in Sevenoaks, no one has handed in any dogs.
Hoping someone will call dog warden tomorrow, thinking that they are closed. If this is a case, please can you leave answerphone message if no answer , as I may be at work. Thanking you all. - 2015-05-04 14:45 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Any news ?

- Thanks TK and sam for the update.
Yes, it's the Bridge Cafe opposite where Stamco used to be and near the bottom Filsham Road. I can't do many posters now as printer's running out of ink unfortunately. So if anyone else can do some it would really help (sam doesn't have a printer) Was hoping to see Marlo had gone back to the cafe for breakfast but it seems not.
As we have a few posters up now maybe someone will see them and call sam saying they have him .. seems odd he has not gone back there when he knows the area so well. They may not know our Dog Wardens are on duty 24/7 and that it is required by law to report finding any dog.
I'm out all day with the family so won't be able to do much today and work out of town this week. I'll definitely be keeping an eye open for Marlo. - 2015-05-04 03:54 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Have now realised where Marlo is missing from, thought it was near Ravenside, but now realise is from near old Stamco ....
Am at work at mo, will keep eyes peeled tomorrow, also will let my neighbour know as she goes to work late each eve along Bulverhythe Rd, she cleans the trains at the depot along there late each eve...
Fingers crossed he may have found his way back to the cafe by morning, or may be trying to make his way home .. - 2015-05-03 22:36 sam cemeri
- Have walked all the way from the westhill to the bridge cafe on Bexhill road. Have asked dog walkers if seen my dog.
Gina, has very kindly printed out some posters for me and has posted them over to glynde gap. I had handed out posters to dog walkers I the area ad have posted o faebook. Police are aware as well as dog wardens. Have emailed train station to keep eye out on tracks. X - 2015-05-03 21:48 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Thanks Lydia and Jeni.
I went down and met sam and gave her some posters.
Marlo ran after a fox, crossed the road opposite the Bridge Cafe, went up the passageway that goes under the railway bridge and goes up to Keymer Close which has lots of gardens and trees and also goes alongside the railway track leading to West St. Leonards Station.
I have advised that Network Rail should be told as soon as possible.
I gave some posters to walkers on beach and put a couple of laminated ones on posts there. Also went to Glyne Gap, put a poster at entrance to beach walk going up to Galley Hill. Walked up to G Hill and gave more posters to people we met. Put one through letterbox of Pets At Home in Glyne Gap and put some up at entrances to Filsham Fields.
Met a resident who lives in Keymer Close who says the foxes often go in the gardens so it would be good to get posters into letterboxes of those houses and those in and off St Saviour's Road.
Sam was searching as well and hopefully she will leave an update on here to say where she has looked today.
No sign at all of Marlo on our walk up to Galley Hill from Glyne Gap. As it was nearly midnight when he went missing I would have thought that he would have come back to the cafe today. Maybe someone has picked him up and does not know that the Dog Wardens work 24/7 in this area.
If anyone has picked up Marlo and taken him to safety please remember it is required by law to report this to the Dog Wardens. They are on 01424 490034.
I have explained to Sam that Marlo is most likely to return to the cafe in the early hours or as it is going dark and that if she leaves bedding or something that has a strong scent of her (unwashed tshirt/socks etc) in a box by the cafe then he will have something familiar to stay with.
Let's hope Marlo is found quickly and stays away from the road and the train track.

- I have just been to Filsham fields and a woody area near by but did not see or hear anything. Il be walking to work tomorrow which is along the seafront so will keep an eye out.

- The postcode for the Bridge Cafe, Bexhill Road, is TN38 8BN (TN40 is the postcode for Cafe on the Beach, Bexhill-on-Sea). Marlo's owners live in TN34. Hope he's found soon.

- Thanks K9 Capers and TK
I have spoken to Marlo's owner and he went missing last night after chasing a fox by the cafe. Owner waited for him to come back but no sign of him. They have searched today but he has not been found. The Dog Wardens, police are aware.
Owner does not have a printer so if anyone is able to print some and put up that would be a great help.
I have sent Doglost advice email and advised to leave bedding by the cafe and to check it regularly. Obviously the cafe will have good foody smells so hopefully Marlo will be back soon for his dinner.
I have advised owner to notify Network Rail in case he goes on to the railway line.
Marlo is used to running around on the beach so he could be anywhere along there .. goes up in Galley Hill direction but Sam has also walked him along to West Hill end of beach which is where they live.
I will try to get some posters done and take them out but may not be able to do this for a while.
