Thanks ravenette. I have had a message too saying:
"Just to let you know that my mother found Toffee's body today she had got stuck in a drain in the river. Thank you so much for all your support and kindness xx"
So sorry it was such a sad ending but at least they have some kind of closure, no matter how cruel. At least her family will be able to lay Toffee to rest and in time hopefully will remember the good times that they have had with her.

thanks Ravenette. OH that's rather worrying and I hope she got out too. Sometimes dogs can get out further up or down stream where there is a low bank. She would obviously be very tired and may even stay on a low bank or in reeds/bushes until someone can find her.
I've got everything crossed that Toffee was able to do this and will be found soon.

I have spoken to owners daughter and Toffee was last seen in the River Arun at Amberley by the Brooks yesterday afternoon.The DW has been informed and all local vets and Clymping Dog Sanctuary are being contacted. Posters will be put up and owner will be asking if the Bridge Hotel and the waterside cafe have heard anything. Her owner is out searching the area now. I am hopeful that Toffee has got out the water and gone into the fields opposite. Stay safe until we find you Toffee xx

Are you able to give us any more details as to how and exactly where she went missing please?

Suggest you get as many posters up in the area as soon as possible so that you can get news of any sightings. If someone has taken her in to safety they may see a poster and be able to contact you.
