- Hi, I cannot be sure but I spotted a dog looking very similar to Merlin at The Basins yesterday afternoon. It was scratching on the bank of the large pond and then went under the gate and up towards Corams Lane. He was away from other people but I watched as some people were approaching but he then moved off and it became obvious the people were nothing to do with him, I asked someone as well. I'm really sorry I didn't follow him, by this time my four dogs were off lead and spread around and before I knew it the black dog was out of sight.

- Saw a very similar dog to this on road from Hemyock to Wellington outside Combe Hill House tonight at 20.25. Couldn't stop due to having another dog, not ours, in van with us and we were towing a caravan. I posted on facebook and someone shared this page.

- Jenny4 it is a rural area, so bound to be. Owners are desperate for some news, he just vanished, so I think you could be right to suggest he has gone down a hole. I have already sent owners advise for that eventuality, but I will remind them.
