- Thanks everyone. Yes, DW would have traced via tatoo and any chip. So the outcome would mean he is now ready for rehoming. Yes, he is a cross. When first reported we were told GSD and so that is why it remains on the page. Ron is a total GSD person and so clever with them that he went straight to the scene and stayed there until he got this sweet boy to safety. Her looks so well now. Hope he is okay emotionally now too. x

- Soohiesuds I checked with Bragi's group & it's not him x
- 2015-05-30 23:16 Veronica
- Colour and face does look more Elkhound than GSD but his tail doesn't look curled over his back in a Spitz-type way. Lucky boy to be caught. His skin looks five sizes too big for him.
- 2015-05-30 20:18 sophiesuds
- This may seem a bit of a stupid question but could this dog be Bragi? Just looking at his colouring, he's been missing a long time now and I know he also has a tattoo in ear. Probably totalling wrong but doesn't look Gsd to me going by photo but I know already mentioned could be a crossbreed.

- Rommel? Err, ok... Still, he is in safe hands, and indeed, a heroic rescue. And, wow, REALLY skinny. Definitely saved his life there! Thank you. x

- Seen him Ron, shame there's no mention of your heroic capture. It just says collected by DW. But I can see from the photos on German Shepherd West Essex page just how skinny this lad was. You really did save his life, well done indeed. Looks like he'd been out there for weeks or been starved prior to that. He looks so much better now. You should be proud - we are of you! x

- Well done Ron catching that "black " GSD. What a team Shelagh and Ron. Was it Rons GSD that went missing a while back in the forest.?
- 2015-05-19 16:31 Shelagh
- Ron is far to modest for his own good. This was in fact a dangerous and tricky rescue, He went into a contained area with a dog ( history unknown),".All "rescues" of loose dogs is risky. Well done Ron you're a true star you really are. Thanks for pic and info. Is there a bit of husky in there?Last edited: 2015-05-19 16:34:06 by Shelagh

- You might call it simple, but still a good thing that you did for this dog. Hope he has an owner out there, if not, then gets a better future
- 2015-05-19 14:58 Unknown
- A simple rescue really, dog was in a contained area so it was only getting close to him was the problem, after 10 minutes of treats and sitting near him he was relaxed enough to get closer and give him a water bowl, another 10 mins of talking to him and he started taking treats from my hand after talking a bit more he was ok with me putting a lead over his head then he walked out to my car where he relaxed until Lyn the dog warden collected him, so he is safe if very timid and thin.... sorry forgot to say he is male, does not look full gsd more of a cross breed, about 4 or 5 i would think, cannot upload photo so have sent it to admin to put on pageLast edited: 2015-05-19 15:26:25

- Well Done Ron. Hopefully owner can be traced through tattoo assuming owner wants him back!. At least safe from harm. x
- 2015-05-19 11:57 Shelagh
- Well done Ron. You really are wonderful. Info is dog is male not chipped but tattooed in ear. Half of other ear missing. Timid. Ron will update with photo when he comes from his appointment. Dog safe with Epping warden now.
- 2015-05-19 11:14 AlisonH
- Message received:- Ron has caught the dog.
The GSD has part of his ear missing (possibly to remove tatoo). He is very nervous and skinny and is being collected by the Epping warden. Photo to follow.Last edited: 2015-05-19 11:22:02 by AlisonH - 2015-05-19 09:22 Shelagh
- Great Ron fantastic. Ron is an experienced gsd owner and handler. He will give us update on situation and maybe more info on sex etc.

It would be nice if it was, shame there is no photo yet.

- Could this dog be Solomon? Dog ID 69056 as its not unrealistically too far away! I have just advised Solomon's owner of this sighted dog. Fingers crossed. Last edited: 2015-05-18 13:51:46 by ClaireC
