Hi Everyone - Pippas poster now says "still missing" please can everyone print out a new poster and place in there area, to show people that her owners are still looking. Thanks for your help Sarah xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Pippas people:
We have run more adverts in the Newshopper (all areas), South London Press and Croydon Advertiser but unfortunately we have had no information about Pippa's whereabouts. Thanks to the support of Sarah and other people from dogslost but we have unfortunately had no actual leads. We have also rung round the rescue centres and dog wardens but she has not been found by them either. Everytime we go out walking or driving in the car we do look at every dog we see but unfortunately no luck. Our thoughts are also with Oscar's owners another little black and tan Cavalier puppy recently taken from a car. Best wishes to everyone who has lost a dog and we hope they all get home safely.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

from Pippa's people - the address was investigated eventually by the Police but however the PC told us that all the dogs were legal owned with the correct paperwork and were Labradors and Springer Spaniels no sign of Pippa. We have unfortunately had no calls from the adverts in the Newsshopper but we have changed the poster so it may lead somewhere. Thanks for everyones help and advise - we have to hope she may turn up especially as you hear about dogs returning years later - we hope to see her much sooner.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news ... I just keep hoping ... we have spoken to our local MP in the hope that he will raise the issue locally and also contact Boris Johnson who is having problems in his constituency (see article in Daily Express 19.03.07) we just don't know where to try next. Any ideas ? The police seem to be unwilling to help or even acknowledge there is a problem Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Debs and Tinks, would you be able to put some posters up around your part of Bromley, and maybe just add the list here, so that we know where has been done. Also if I remember correctly, you worked with horses, so any saddlery's would be good and pet shops. Nathalie has my details if you wanna give me a call to go through things. Thanks Sarah xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I cannot believe owners are still having problems with Bromley police acting on info-lets hope the local paper can make them act. The media in this area have been brilliant-giving missing dogs loads of coverage thanks to Micca's mum!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

due to information recieved the owners have been given a address which they have passed on to bromley police who yet again have not attended this address where pippa is believed to be. i have contacted on behalf of the owners the bromley times who are gonna run another article which will hopefully shame bromley police into attending the address given. as theft is a crime then surely bromley police should be investigating the information they have recieved ... jennixxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you posted the train stations more? How about Shortlands? St Mary Cray? Beckenham hill/junction. Even Bromley south/north again? What about local taxi firms, have you tried giving them a poster to put in their tea room, you never know what they may see while they are out! What about putting posters up near busy traffic lights, drivers tend to look around for something to do then. Try and make some really eye catching posters to MAKe people look for Pippa. Also, not being prejudiced, my if the fish men had irish geordie accents, try some local travellers sites!! Hope she is found safe and sound soon!! xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pippas people:
Just an update on what we have done so far, we have taken posters to the Laurels, Frogpool Manor, Park Vets. Park Vets will also warn their puppy class. We have postered around Babbington, Faringdons and Redhill Schools as well as the shops at Widmore Green and Sainsburys car park Locksbottom and the park in Bickley. We have leafleted Chadd Drive, Southlands Grove, the Pantile and half of Shawfield. Spoke to Rosies dog walkers and asked them to pass the details on. We have spoken to Steve (dog trainer) and will see him at his class on Sunday to give him leaflets and speak to any puppy owners there. We have sent posters to a number of pet shops in the area including Biggin Hill and Croydon. We have spoken to the Newsshopper and Kentish Times both of whom say they will rung a piece about Pippa but hopefully also the rise in dog/puppy theft. The missingdogs burueau will send out posters on our behalf to vets as well - we may overlap but does it matter. We have visited the allotments in Bickley and Holmes Place (Bath Road) and also Cannons who now have posters. Our friends have also been to ASDA (Swanley) and Tescos in Lewisham. Orpington High Street Pet shops and charity shops. Also Fine Road School (Green Street Green) will put leaflets in all the childrens bags. Waldo Road Yard in Bromley has been covered as well. We also have friends in Sutton Valance and they are spreading the word. Thanks to all the help so far - people have been so kind - we still keep hoping.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Further to arcazy1's posting re puppy classes. There are classes held in the Assembly Rooms, Gates Green Road, Coney Hall (West Wickham) on Friday afternoons between 2 & 5pm, I think. Sorry, don't have any contact details. Also puppy & other classes are held on a Sunday afternoon at a Scout Hall in Crofton (Orpington). They are run by Steve Stokes - might be worth giving him a call as he is likely to have lots of good contacts. His number is 07815 910296. Good Luck in finding Pippa.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beckenham Place Park is full of dog walkers all the week so it may be worth postering there - also a couple of dog walkers walk there regulary mon-fri they are usually in the park around 1-2pm (cant be misses as they walk a hell of a lot of dogs together) they will keep eyes peeled - bromley train station is also a good oplace they have allowed us to poster there before and the coffee cart at bromley and eltham train stations will put up a poster (a bully was found via a poster at the eltham coffee cart) are there any puppy playgroups/puppy training classes held in the area if so could be worth asking them to put up a poster I hope you get her home soon - susieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you contacted The Laurels Veterinary Practice, Homefield Rd, Bromley (T: 8460 2033 or 8466 6065 & Fax: 8466 7109) and Foxgrove Road vets in Beckenham as they (Foxgrove) do the emergency cover for many vets in the area including Bromley & West Wickham. Foxgrove's no.is 8650 2003 (Fax: 8650 8298). The only problem you might encounter is that weekend staff are n probablt now on duty.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How about also calling Ward Security. They are the people who patrol our parks and Commons (I often see them up at Hayes Common at Keston when we walk our dogs). They do dog patrols and so are really dog-friendly people. They drive around in white estate cars and 4x4s with green signwriting. Their number is 0845 847 6180. Of course, it would be much better if you manage to speak directly to the chaps (& women!). Also might be worth contacting Bromley's park rangers. Some are still based in Beckenham, close to where I live but most of them have relocated to High Elms, Green Street Green. Try calling 8658 1593. Let me know if you don't get any joy as I have the High Elms office number somewhere. Also, have you contacted Foal Farm in Jail Lane, Biggin Hill and maybe Last Chance Animal Rescue at Stickhill, near Edenbridge. Last Chance also have a shop in Chatterton Road, Bromley and I am sure they will display Pippa's poster (lots of dogowners passing through).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you to everyone who is trying to find Pippa, any and all help gratefully received, we just want her back safe and well. Just to let you know what we have done so far, we have spoken to the police, Battersea and the dogwardens from Bromley, Croydon & Tonbridge who say they will spread the word. We have put posters at Bickley Station, Bromley High School, Jubilee Woods, Chequers pub, pet shop in Chislehurst, Bickley Parva and Coopers as well as telling the Residents committee of Woodlands Road. We have spoken to the Kentish Times, the Croydon Advertiser, the News Shopper and the Croydon Guardian and she is list in the dogs lost book at Park Vets & Andersons. We have spoken to Neptune foods who were in the area that day and there was another plain white van with a man going door to door. We have leafleted the St Georges Road West Estate. The Missing Pet Bureau are going to do a mailshot to their list of vets. We are going to put more posters up this weekend and leaflet the area further. Any other ideas ??? From what I gather Pippas owner has already asked the neighbours and nobody bought any fish from this man. They have also asked around and this van only stopped down there road. I don't think its a regular thing to be fair. Also no signage, so a little bit suss about how genuine the person was. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to the owner last night, and as Jayne has posted, she was picked up by a man selling fish from a white van. I have advised the owner to poster everywhere possible, Schools/local shops/pot office/ sorting office and also to give the bin man and post man a copy of Pippas poster. I will print some posters off today at work, and will place in the pubs at the top of chislehurst. Also will put one in the vets in Coppendean Crescent and the pet shops. I actually met this pup whilst out walking on Saturday and shes so tiny, so can everyone poster everywhere possible. Also Jayne, is it possible to do a mailout to Edenbridge and Addington, as Pippa was picked up in a van it maybe that the driver could be further afield. Jen I think the Newshopper have rung and interviewed Pippas owner, and maybe doing a feature. I will be speaking to the owner on the weekend, so will update. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live around the area. Are we sure this puppy has been stolen? Was it inside the garden? Had it got out? Notify rescue centers and vets like Foal Farm as this is one of the closest around this area that I know of. Put up loads of posters! As soon as admin put a picture on the site and posters are e-mailed to helpers posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or some who know Pippa. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
