I am not on Facebook so cannot answer people on their pages I have though heard there is a lot of speculation as to what is happening hence my putting this reply on Carolinas page.

Right well the main thing is Carolina is now safe and well thanks to everyones input including Nectardog without whos help in the background as well as others we would possibly would not have had this outcome also my friend athough I drive I certainly was in no fit state to drive yesterday thank you Angie for that.

I will update everyone on everything in a week or so time also do a reunited picture for here as well

SO please no more speculation on what will happen to Carolina at the moment she will be fine.

Once again though a huge thank you to everyone xxxx

Bobble, there was initially some confusion on a facebook group where the found dog had been posted in an effort to find her owner...it was quickly rectified once the poster had read all the comments on this page.
I too am so happy and relieved that Carolina has been found and is safe as I was so worried for her out there with no road sense. So pleased that after all her hard work and concern that mistynsashasmum is the one picking Carolina up. I can't wait to hear further updates xx

DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Nectardog, I did not mean to offend you in any way, however the post saying that she has been rehomed by a rescue and that someone else may claim her is ambiguous and to my thinking implies that she has been handed in to another rescue who have since rehomed her. that may be wrong conclusion, hence I put what I thought was a simple supportive comment to alert that it may not be as straightforward as that. I know the original rescue who rehomed her are being extremely proactive in helping Mistyandsashasmum in finding and locating her and I am sure are very grateful for her tenacity and effort. I am also aware that there are two wonderful people who are keen to give Carolina a forever home and I was worried that despite all this effort there may be something else going on to muddy the waters so to speak.

I do not do Facebook at all, so I have no idea what is going on, on there. What I do know is the hardwork and heartache that Mistyandsashasmum has invested in finding Carolina and the help that the rest of the DogLost team have been giving her in the background.

I am relieved that Carolina is safe - that is great news and the main thing, but felt slightly sadened that she may have already gone to another home. However in my heart I knew that if she was settled, it would be fair to leave her there. Now you have posted that Mistandsashamum has gone to collect her. I am relieved and heartened. I have been returning to my computer with nail biting frequency looking for updates here and on our forum for news. Not quite sure what is meant by the plot thickens?
Mistyandsashasmum is in regular contact with us at the rescue and has gone to collect her from the person who has found her.
There is nothing but kindness and helpfulness shown by all involved and not sure what is being implied. If someone knows anything untoward then please share it with us.

Not sure what you mean Donna
Donna
This is urgent, please join the facebook group lost and found pets in Portsmouth, as comments suggest that the found dog was rehomed via a dog rescue and someone else will be claiming her, we just need to rule out as to whether or not it is Carolina x
Donna
Hi just posted the link to a found dog and finder is sure it could be Carolina, they are trying to contact you.

Maybe this girl has been picked up by a kind person who thought they could keep her because they thought she was a stray and now has been taken out of the area!

Not everyone realises you are by law meant to report a found dog to the local Dog Warden or take them to the nearest vet who will scan them for a chip.

Ros it is a male

Thank you all for looking though

Yes please Posh Dogs, please do print off some posters and put them up. You have obviously spotted some good places that no one else has thought of or goes to. Anyone can print the poster, the link is near the bottom of the main dog section above. Pop them into a polypocket or other clear bag and that will keep the weather off.

Any help looking, postering and spreading the word much appreciated. Remember she is a young fit dog and could have travelled some distance.

Unknown
Posh Dogs the posters are out there in Midhurst car parks as well I am putting them up as when I am in different places if you could though I would appreciate some help putting them up maybe in some of the areas that you actually walk that would be extremely helpful.
I have mailed a poster to Cowdray Golf Club
Not heard from the Local Paper as yet.
Maybe we could arrange to meet sometime? we probably know each other without realising when out with our dogs!Last edited: 2015-06-04 07:54:54
Sammie
mistynsashasmum you are doing a fab job.
I can only think of taxi firms and golf coures (always a favourite place as is cemetrys!).
Stables, farms, Polo ground?
Nectardog worth asking your helper is anyone has accessed the chip details in the last two weeks.
Has anyone actually gone round to the adopters house?
I wonder is there is any helpers on here local to the area if they could volunteer to go round and see them?

i have posted on face book ,also about possible sighting on May 19 th running from Pitsham lane towards Heyshott. I live in Midhurst and work as a dog walker in the winter months , will tell people locally

Bless her heart I do so hope she is found soon. Will keep looking on facebook for any business etc. around the area and will message with details. Julie

Just wondered if its worth googling "dog walkers in midhurst" (think there are about three that cover the area) and contacting them to share details and ask if can poster.
Nectardog
She was chipped before she came to us and we have done the change of ownership form on the day she left us with the adopters.
An employee at Petlog volunteers for us at the rescue and she is doing everything she can.
We cannot get hold of the owner either!
Devastated for this poor girl.
Thank you mistynsahasmum for all you are doing and for alerting us in the first place.
We have also contacted the Dog wardens that we know and just keeping everything crossed.

There was siting of a collie at the end of Pitsham lane heading towards Heyshot but this was maybe 2 weeks ago 19.05
Sammie
Nectardog, do you as a rescue not re register the dogs that your rehome yourself? I presume you must have done the implant so know the chip number?

Mistynsashamum have you found out why Different number to location? There doesn't seem to be much info on how she went missing ie bolted on a walk, escaped from home etc, and the exact place she dissapeared from.
Also useful things like was she in foster before or in kennels.
I have known dogs like this make a return to their fosters location so if there is nothing to go on for now that might be worth considering.
Unknown
I have done quite a lot of local posters now vets included I will go further afield tomorrow with them
I will do some smaller ones to put through doors in her local area as well
Unknown
I cant believe nobody has noticed this wandering around on her own l do hope she is safe xx
Nectardog
This was her write up on the website, I think you will find it says it all really.
Poor Carolina is a very worried dog. We dread to think what she has been through to make her so scared. She has seen nothing of the world either so is finding adapting to her new surroundings hard. She will need a very understanding, patient home where she will be allowed to come around in her own time and not have too much expected of her.Needless to say it will need to be a quiet home, preferably with a nice dog to help her along. She has managed to go for lead walks when it is not busy and she does enjoy her walks. She is still nervous but she will stop, sniff and take interest in her surroundings. This is a very positive sign. She is vaccinated, wormed, micro chipped and vet checked.
Unknown
Her Name is Carolina. can it be added to posters
Thank you
Unknown
Nectardog I am printing posters now and will laminate them and will do my very best to find her I promise Thank you for your help with photo ect
Unknown
Thank you Gino I will get some posters printed and out asap
Stay safe baby girl xxxx
Nectardog
This is devastating news! These people were homechecked by their vet (As we do not have a homechecker in that area) and bought proof to us on headed paper from the vets saying they were a suitable home. We went through everything with them about how nervous she was and would need time and patience to bring her on and they were more than happy. They have not even had the courtesy to contact us to say she has gone missing and this was 2 weeks ago!!! They would have only had her a few days. Unbelievable. Poor girl will be terrified. Please everybody help to find her.
Gino

OMG This is just down the road from me I have seen and heard nothing about this I am wondering why there is a Chichester telephone number as appossed to a Midhurst number?
Will see what I can find out about this girl hope she is safe somewhere as extremely busy roads around this area
Stay safe my girl xxxxLast edited: 2015-06-02 13:18:59
