- I am so glad that justice has been delivered this time a dog was stolen. Let's hope this sets a precedent and that future crimes are treated the same way. I have seen first hand how much anguish is felt by the dog owner when their dog is stolen and it doesn't lessen as time goes on and the dog isn't found. Nobody should have to go through this because some lowlife decides that this is an easy way to make some money. Dogs and their owners share a unique relationship and no one should be allowed to destroy this for the sake of a few hundred pounds. I am so glad for Buddy and his owners. Stay safe now! xxxx

- So pleased you got Buddy back home where he belongs; I really cant understand why people take a dog away from what he knows and loves, a secure home. Glad to see justice has been dished out for a change. Its about time dog theft is treated as a crime; we love our dogs. Have a good life Buddy with your family x

- The woman who stole Buddy was sentenced to 16 months in prisaon at the the start of October.
- 2015-09-30 16:04 Aimees mum
- I thought you'd like to hear the latest.... The lady who allegedly stole Buddy was due in court on 1 September but failed to turn up. She was found and arrested last night and after spending the night in a police cell appeared before the Magistrates Court this morning. At this morning's hearing she pleaded not guilty and elected for a trial by jury in the Crown Court. The next hearing will be in October when it is likely that a date for the trial will be set. Let's keep our opinions to ourselves at this stage as it is important to remember that she has not been convicted.

- Just saw this on Facebook...Great news for dog thefts..Hope she gets locked up and key thrown away!!!
We are pleased to tell you that a woman has been charged in connection with his theft and will appear in court next month. We will be at court to hear what she has to say for herself and will keep you updated.
Prosecutions for dog theft are very rare so we are pleased that this particular incident is going to trial. Unfortunately, we cannot give you anymore information about the theft or the woman but god willing, should she be found guilty then we will of course ensure that you know everything about her.
More news to follow.

- We are desperate to get Buddy back and would have done anything to take that TV slot. We have been working very closely with Hazelbella who has done a lot for us. Alex Greaves (Aimees Mum) has also been updating this page on our behalf as I work in the day as I'm sure anyone who loses a dog knows how exhausting the whole thing is especially when you have hundreds of comments and messgaes a day to keep track of. We are working with as many sites and organisations that we can and one of them includes a private agency because we are extremely desperate and would hate to think we would miss out on potential help as a result of that. Colin our detective is speaking with media but we have also had to do a lot of it ourselves without much result to be honest. We haven't had any national press cover us yet and we're very upset to think we have missed out here. It's extremely emotionally draining and we are so grateful to everyone commenting below with all their support and love for us and Buddy. We will keep going. As long as it takes and throughever it takes to bring him back. Thank you. Liah & Andy xxLast edited: 2015-06-11 12:59:57 by Liahmoon

- We did have a national TV slot for next week which would have been perfect for Buddy, but as they have hired a private detective who seems to be handling their PR we will offer it to another owner.Last edited: 2015-06-11 12:03:51

- Cheers hazebella for the info. I know Liah is swamped with juggling finding Buddy with work and I agree that this sounds more like a puppy farm so rather than burden Liah can someone look into this further? I am helping as much as I can but the more helpers the better!
- 2015-06-11 00:04 Unknown
- this is from the article.....................A total of 42 puppies including beagles, miniature daschunds, Cavalier King Charles spaniels, labradors, spaniels and shih-tzus were seized on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 following concerns for animals living at an address in the area.
The puppies have been placed into the care of RSPCA inspectors after there was suspicion that offences had been committed under the Animal Welfare Act.
The puppies are receiving treatment from a vet and will remain in the RSPCA’s care, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Most times these raids are exactly that, dogs from puppy farming , once they have done their investigations if there were any dogs that were chipped the owners would be notified.
- 2015-06-10 22:26 Aimees mum
- ronmaxtye, Do you have any further info? Is there anything to suggest that they are stolen rather than a puppy farm?
- 2015-06-10 21:38 Unknown
- Essex police seized 40 pups from 2 ladies in area, pups given to RSPCA, has anyone checked to see if this is one of them

- From Buddy's FB page...
TODAY'S UPDATE.
We have now discovered that the silver chain/attached to a blue and white badge worn by the passenger would only be worn by local hospital workers including Watford General.
Were now reaching out to hospital staff and the police have requested footage from the British Transport Police to capture this woman's identity as it's believed she came through Carpenders Park station around 1:35. She is a key witness and we need to find her.
We're now reaching out to local hospital staff to find her. Do you work at Watford General and know someone who fits the description?
Thank you so much to everyone. Your support is keeping us going. XxxxLast edited: 2015-06-11 11:45:33 - 2015-06-10 14:24 Aimees mum

- we have already discovered that the white woman, Blonde, in her 40's in the blue car that picked up Buddy was on her own when he was placed into the car. A black woman appeared a short while later; she was wearing a distinctive blue and white photo ID badge on a metal chain. It has been reported that she also appeared as ‘Matronly’. The black woman noticed Buddy and commented that he was a lovely dog and got into the passenger seat of the car, she may have been unaware that he was being stolen by the driver.
We are appealing for people to come forward if they recognise the description of the black female passenger: She was in her 30’s, slightly big build, black curly shoulder length hair (not afro style) and was wearing glasses and dark clothing, it is reported that she came across as very friendly.
We are anxious to trace the black woman as it appears that she may not be aware that the Buddy hasn't been returned.
You either call the owner Liah on 07817548369
We're also investigating a car registration number that was witnessed at the time he was taken.
We're getting there. Let's keep this going and help bring back our gorgeous pup.

Blossom, the owners phone numbers were on Buddy's tag, I am quite sure these two women know how to use a phone, I would not be so kind towards them! - 2015-06-08 20:14 Blossom
- Saw on Twitter that women that were seen taking the dog had tabbards & badges. Cleaners often wear them & 2 companies in that area and may be more do. The companies are Maxi Jaye and London Cleaners. Worth a check? The ladies may have picked th.e dog up but not realise what the law is or be on the internet.
- 2015-06-08 16:48 Unknown
- The blonde woman was described as in her 40s, the other woman is described as younger and black (she had the staff name badge on)
- 2015-06-08 16:44 ClaireC
- Put some posters inside Royal Mail post boxes as they usually take back to their sorting offices so that postmen may sometimes see a dog. Ask estate agents to keep an eye out for a dog on its own and perhaps give them some posters. Likewise local milkmen if you still have them and even florists as they go out and about. Ask local radio station if they can put something on their website or over the airwaves. All local delivery people are good sources of advertising and keeping their eyes open. - says on Buddy's facebook page that the younger woman appeared to be wearing a staff name badge. This implies someone in a customer facing job so worthwhile leafleting/postering all supermarkets/gyms/banks/building societies...anywhere where staff wear name badges. He was wearing a tag with owners 'phone number on it, all they had to do was ring it......Last edited: 2015-06-08 14:46:24

- It's worth bearing in mind when trawling sites like Gum Tree, Preloved and Pets4Homes for pups for sale that Golden Retrievers are often mistaken for Labradors particularly when young as they haven't developed their feathered tails. The easiest way to distinguish between the breeds at this age is to look at the ears (a GR will have fluffy ears)Last edited: 2015-06-08 00:33:21 by Aimees mum

- Shared on Facebook. Does Buddy have a FB page/group etc? Hope he is found soon but if it takes a bit longer bear in mind that his colour is likely to change as he grows up (my own GR was white at 8 weeks but developed golden markings over a few weeks / months)
