the down side of following doglost every day is seeing so many dsrling dogs abandoned. I have 5 rescues now 1 a Romanian lost in my area 1 year ago who appeared on doglost. of course we got involved in the search, and when found 3 weeks later a terrified wreck we took her in. 1 year later of course she is still here. the upside, or one of the many upsides, of doglost is that Nellie - yet another unwanted dog finds a new and loving home. thanks to doglost and all the doglost supporters out there. the oldies are so undemanding and so gentle and sweet

This is incredibly sad. But CJ it was not all in vain because now hopefully this precious girl will get her REAL home, her forever home with people who truly love her and would never, ever give her up. At least because of your efforts and those working with you, we now know she is safe. I hope we can get an update when she gets her loving home. x

So pleased Nelly is safe, I feared the worst when I saw she had been missing so long at her age, so sad she no longer has a home , I hope she finds somewhere wonderful to spend her golden years . Good luck Nelly xx

Just had some very sad news they have decided that they will leave her there and hope she gets re homed as they are expecting a baby soon she is an elderly lady poor girl , this has made me very sad .

I know a lot of time was spent trying to find owner I got an old address confirmed by chase vets as i traced back where chip implanted but could not get any more info.Phone number they had listed rang out and did not go to ansaphone.
dw then phoned the local council ( i think bournemouth) and an officer went there last weds . They got no answer so tried the neighbours who was house sitting and happened to be their son. he said they emigrated 6 months ago and passed Nelly onto a relative somewhere in kent.
DW also went all round the village asking if anyone knew who dog may belong to- no one had seen the dog or knew of it.( this is a small village where most knows everyones dogs!)

I have updated her photo from FB _ she is fully house trained understands commands and is dog friendly and hope she is spotted soon by someone willing to take on a oldie who still has many years left in her!

Its a shame after spending I suppose 6 months with this family she will need yet another home. I know she is in a good kennel who will do their utmost to find her a loving forever home.

Such a shame just seen on FB that owners no longer want her so is leaving her at the kennels for re-homing.

I have just called number above who has put dog on site ( works with owner) to say dog is at viking oaks.
Dog-warden has been trying to locate owners since beginning of week. She phoned me for help and i managed to locate some details from searches on the internet but
we had no contact details. Owner to be informed and can pick her up after 9 tomorrow.
This shows the importance of keeping microchip details up to date.
