Lovely story, so glad to read of his safe return. Can you tell us, for those of us looking for other terriers in possible similar circumstances, how you managed to locate him? Did you hear him, shine lights, did another dog track him? I have felt quite clueless on previous occasions when dogs have gone underground and any information would be most useful for the future. Glad he's home safe and sound.
ClaireC
Thank goodness for that. Stay safe and close (if thats possible!) from now on xx

We have found him! in a rabbit hole not 500 yards from our front door in a field we hadn't checked yet, he must of heard us searching, we were only 10 yards from him Thursday night. He is surprisingly well but exhausted, thank you so much for all your advice and help. Kate

Called Dog Warden yesterday re male JR found, but man would not give me any info, other than to say that if my dog is micro-chipped (which he is) and they have him, they will contact me. Think it more likely to be dog found in Illogan Thursday pm. Also spoken to Roy in Camborne re mine shafts, the shafts on our side of Tregonning Hill are capped and relatively safe, which is good, there are many more further afield towards Godolphin Cross/Carleen which are open, we will try to locate and check them. We are revisiting some fox/badger holes in a field near us with hose and funnel and going to far side of Tregonning Hill to check other quarries/pits. Have bagged up Scruffy's bed and brush, in hope that tracker can make it to us.

Message has already been left with K9tracker (Jenny & Tiga). But at the moment she is busy with Tess & some other dogs have come in, so hopefully, she will make contact when she is free.

So sorry there's no news of Scruffy. Don't give up hope. Have you managed to get posters up around your area and let neighbours etc know to keep a look out for him? Hopefully he's home very soon

We've continued searching yesterday evening, last night and again today for Scruffy and have covered most of Tregonning Hill and neighbouring fields checking and re-checking rabbit holes and known badger sets, but have not seen or heard him at all

Have spoken to owner. He lives on the campsite & it is rural, surrounded by open fields. There are numerous rabbit holes around. Owner has been out with her other dog, but is going to try again later this evening when it is quiet. I have advised the use of a length of hosepipe, with a funnel, to use like a stethescope for listening down holes.
Owner has checked any area where he may be snagged, but has a bit more to check.
No swimming pools or open cess pits nearby.
Vets/dog warden/microchip company informed.
Am emailing advice sheets.
As Jenny & Tiga are in Cornwall, I have passed the number, as it may be of benefit.

Is owner local or on holiday? Have you been out with your other dog to see if he picks up anything? Do you know where the rabbit holes are?
