Black Rock - Unauthorised encampment of Irish Travellers - Section 77 notices have been served on the vehicles directing them to leave. Should these not be complied with, we will be pursuing a court order in the Magistrates' Court, which will enable us to arrange for an eviction to take place. The people who spotted the dog near the County hospital are called Gavinand Elouise. There may be a link with Keziah's sighting.
Drdoolittle
Keziah it is interesting you mention St James street as someone has reported on Brighton dog watch on June 17th a similar dog weaving across the road by the County hospitalLast edited: 2015-06-26 23:36:18 by Drdoolittle

I have a follow up as a lady reported on facebook finding a dog which matches Obi in Valley Road. She then allegedly passed the dog to someone else as already has two dogs of her own. Was Obi wearing a collar with a name on the collor? I Will be passing the information and name of the lady to the moderators as private pm with ID 88000 in subject.

Thanks for the update Keziah. Sounds interesting and I'm glad to see that you will be postering the area tomorrw. Literally flood the area with them please! If this is Obi then the person who has him will undoubtedly see them.

It is REQUIRED BY LAW TO REPORT FINDING ANY DOG to the Dog Wardens and/or the Police. Failure to do so is 'THEFT BY FINDING'

Please contact owner if you have any information about or know of anyone who has Obi .. maybe they have only had a little dog looking like him for a couple of weeks.

Or you can contact Doglost in COMPLETE CONFIDENCE on 0844 800 3220.
I am bumping this page due to the sighting.

Just to say, there have been a few prosecutions, fines and of course resulting criminal record. Not many but I have seen them. It is an enormous relief to get a pet back, but insistance on pressing charges is the only way to get this into public awareness, and stopped. Wishing you all the best of luck in getting little Obi home where she belongs X
Keziah
Sighting of Obi today at 2:30 at St James street a lady with blonde hair and skinny, when the lady tried to take a picture the woman in question went very quickly ... Please keep an eye out in this area we will be postering there tomorrow many thanks
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Drdoolittle: I did check that one out but it was definitely in Ireland.
Hoping to get owner to update this page asap with any news of Obi.
Possible item in Argus after owner interviewed by them but nothing published yet unfortunately.

The found dog is listed on Facebook under Kerri Lee‎ on brighton bargin's selling page. It says found in Beachhill though and she may have meant Beach Green,Shoreham as the place she is referring to is in Ireland! The other place which she might mean is Bexhill.

Please checkout Facebook Brighton selling page look for kerry or kerry Lee. A photo of a found dog looks just like Obie with finder in Streethill. Tried connecting you on messenger also, gosh I hope I'm right. Good luck
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I agree Jaycey. People who find dogs often are not aware that it is 'theft by finding' if you find a dog and not report it to the Dog Wardens and/or the Police. However, sometimes it is unintentional but nevertheless a crime.
We do not know if the person who found Obi gave him away or sold him but they were wrong to do either.
Thank you to the person who called Doglost with information. We will fpass the information on to the Police and hopefully they will investigate.
Meanwhile we will not give up and the search for Obi goes on.
Please continue to share this page to your friends on Fbk and if anyone is able to put a poster in your car window or stick one/some up outside your house it would be a great help. Thanks!
Jaycey
The despicable "Finding then selling on" is getting far more common..its about time the law dealt finders a custodial sentence to prevent this heartbreak to many owners and their furry family member..Hoping the Police do their best to find the culprit and Obie is soon back home where he belongs..xx
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Obie's owner have been given some information that someone picked him up on the day he went missing. This person did not report finding him to the Dog Wardens or Police as is required by law. Unfortunately Obie was then passed on to someone else.
The Police have now given a CRN and will be making enquiries about this theft.
Hopefully they will be able to find out exactly where he is and retrieve him for his heartbroken owners.
Keziah
Crime ref for Obie ref I's 0883 13 June.and we spoke to a lady called Lorraine very nice an additional number if needed is 07860778302 thank you x

Update fm Obie's owner:
"We believe Obie is with someone in the portslade Hove area, please keep his picture on your phone and if you
See someone with him please
Call immediately on 07860778302 thank you all so so much! Bring Obie home!"

The telephone number this update is different as it is her friend giving the updates.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I'm so sorry to hear that Obi is still missing. I have been following his post on Brighton Dogwatrch who are already sharing everywhere. I have shared to Doglost East Sussex, Doglost South East and my pages too. Please ask your friends to do so as well.

Kirstyss: I have sent you our Doglost emails which may help you find him. I suggest that you get as many posters up as possible. We know that poster power works and if someone has taken Obi in then they may see a poster and contact you.
Some people are not aware that it is required by law to report finding a dog so they may be keeping him safe thinking he is not being looked for.

If you are able to let us know any more details as to how Obi went missing please leave a comment on here (you need to be logged in to do this)
Not all our helpers are on Fbk so please let us have any updates and information about how your search is going.
Hoping that you find Obi very soon. Best of luck with your search.
