Why didn't Pets at Home keep the dog when it would have shown up as being stolen when they scanned it? My vet held a dog registered as stolen when he scanned it and it was returned to its proper owner. If nothing else they should have called the police. What is the point of reporting your dog as stolen if the thief can just walk away with it after scanning.

pets at home in perry barr is actually in a shopping centre...therefore it may be worth contacting the shopping centre to see if they have cctv - this might give you a clue which direction this person went etc
Red Alert
Pets at Home should also have CCTV

As Hanslope is near Central Milton Keynes maybe this dog was transported by train to Birmingham, in which case there should be CCTV at the stations as well as passengers who may have seen the woman or the dog. Maybe worth looking into, then publicise the photo for her identity? Hope she's found soon.
