- Any more news on this little girl? I hope the search for the perpetrator is on-going and whoever it is will not be left on the streets to repeat the evil:-( I can`t help wondering if this little dog was destined to be trained as a fighting dog with the cropped ears? I do read and hear comments from other dog owners who say there are folk going around stealing dogs for this purpose, or for bait-dogs, and it is very worrying. I believe there was "talk" recently about 2 men at Ashridge near Tring trying to steal dogs, and the warden did confirm to me he had heard something but not substantiated; also I have heard from another dog-walker that there was a similar incident or two near Hughenden in High Wycombe where someone was trying to steal dogs. It makes me very wary of walking in these places if it isn`t a busy time. What an awful world we live in nowadays. I hope this pup recovers and finds a loving home very soon.Last edited: 2015-06-22 07:55:14 by LindaT

- I absolutely agree with all your comments Claire. They are not human, they are subhuman. They are scum
- 2015-06-16 22:40 ClaireC
- My prayers will be to find the inhuman beings and be brought to justice. Somebody somewhere knows who they are and hopefully turns them in.

- another mutilated dog - who are these weird abusers who live among us? the police are beginning to see the link of animal abuse to abuse of people so one day soon they might actually do something to trace the attackers.once again thank heavens for rspca who have the powers to prosecute

- Think RSPCA should make an appeal on Sky News...It helped to get Caramel back home, so would hopefully get the wicked, sick creature that did these appalling injuries to this beautiful innocent baby girl!..It breaks my heart ♥ xx

- I am trying to find out whether the comments on the RSPCA page are true that she was stolen then dumped. RSPCA have not confirmed this.

- Me too Esther. I agree with all the comments below. Does the owner not want her back then? These pieces of scum should get a taste of their own medicine. At least Poppy is in safe hands now. Hope she gets well soon, and her broken leg is soon mended. Sending Poppy absent healing for her injuries , and lots of ((((((HUGS)))))), and cuddles. Hope justice wkill be done for you Poppy. GET WELL SOON SWEETHEARTxxxxx Keep us p;osted on her progress

- How long ago was the pup stolen? Her ears seem to be healed so must have been a while ago. Whoever did this to this beautiful pup needs serious intervention. Strongly believe there are some people who don't deserve to walk the same soil as the rest of us.

- *POPPY* WAS STOLEN AND ACCORDING TO REPORTS SHE IS NOW BACK WITH HER OWNER BUT THEY NEED TO FIND THAT SCUM THAT DID THIS
The RSPCA is appealing for information after a puppy was found abandoned in a wood in Luton with a broken leg.
Poppy, a four-month-old Mastiff cross, was discovered by a passing dog walker on Thursday (4 June), just lying in a wooded area near Ashburnham Road.
The puppy was crying in pain, with her left leg hanging limp, and injuries to her ears which appeared to have been cropped.
The RSPCA was called and Poppy is now in our care receiving vet treatment. X-Rays revealed the leg was broken.
RSPCA Animal Collection Officer Grace Mead said: “The large bone in Poppy’s front leg was completely broken. She must have been in such pain, as well as terrified at being left out there all alone.
“Who knows what happened to her but she also had ears which seemed to have been cut, and very short claws, and just seemed generally in a bad way.
“She is an incredibly lovely dog who has melted all our hearts. Once she has recovered I have no doubt she will be snapped up and found a new home
“Anyone who has any information about what might have happened to her should call us on 0300 123 8018. We would be very concerned if other dogs were in similar danger.”
