Chip checked
Angel
Thanks Molly. Will keep my eyes open. Fingers crossed she's home soon. As she's a recent rescue has her microchip details been checked to ensure they have the correct phone numbers etc?
Molly
Saba is a medium sized dog smaller than a Labrador. We do not know what cross she is.. She escaped in to Wick lane at the Blays lane entrance, she then run down Blays lane. According to the sightings she is no longer wearing her harness or collar.
Angel
Thanks PaulaK. That makes a bit more sense to me now, they must have been going into Virginia Water. Do you or someone know the size of Saba? From the pic she looks like she has some mastiff in her. Is she that size or smaller? The reason I ask is because there is a mastiff that is seen quite often in Windsor Great Park between Sheet Street and Spital area on it's own waiting for it's owners to catch up.
PaulaK
Lost in Windsor Great park - entrance off Wick Lane. Newly rescued dog and managed to slip away as lead being moved from collar to harness - an accident
Angel
Hi. Where was she actually lost from and what were the circumstances?
PaulaK
So good to get another sighting x
Molly
We spoke to the men who clear the polo field in Great Windsor Park and they saw Saba yesterday morning but not today. We are going back tonight and will sit near polo field to see if we can spot her. At least she is starting to form a pattern, but the area she is covering is so vast we cannot start a feeding station yet.
Molly
No sightings since 28th. The search continues hopefully she will show up soon. X
lesleyjane
Sending positive vibes from Buckinghamshire. Hope Saba is caught soon, keep up the good work everyone. xx
Molly
I just received a call from a golfer at wentworth golf club who said he saw Saba around the golf course today. it looks like she is starting to form a pattern lets hope it continues. The green keepers are aware she is missing so will report if seen. At least she is OK!
I would like to thank you all for your help with this we are extremely grateful. Xx. We continue the search and will be back out in morning.
June
We went this afternoon and evening all around Sunningdale. We pushed a leaflet through the letter box of the Vet along the Village Road near Onslow Road. Called in at the Chobham common car park just off the roundabout at Chertsey Road. Spoke to a couple of dog walkers who took a leaflet and said they would keep a look out. Another couple said that they had seen a dog like Saba twice. Once on Thursday and again Friday and it was along Dry Arch Lane. We drove down there and spoke to a man with his dog but he had no knowledge of seeing her. We came back via Windsor ending up along Blacknest and then along Wick Road, back down the A30. To get to Dry Arch Lane you turn off the A30 down Broomhall Road. There is a stables along there and a park.
Molly
I received a call today from a lady who saw her in Sunningdale Village. She crossed over a30 near Bluebells restaurant and run into Shrubs Hill Lane. Which is near Onslow Road which is where she was seen on Tues. The lady said she looked healthy and was running like a greyhound. She seems to be doing a circuit so hopefully will make her way back to stables next to great park where we can build up her trust. Xx
June
We lost our dog under similar circumstances, we had use of a trap but it is a waiting game. Tried different locations and kept a bit of distance between us and the crate. Nothing happened. In the end we located where she was and just sat in the same spot and every time she came near we threw a tasty treat to try and gain her confidence. There was no way she would let you get hold of her. We stayed in the same place for 24 hours in which time set the crate up again and eventually she got in far enough for us to let the trap down. It was a long haul but so worth it. I hope this might help.
PaulaK
Good that she has been seen again. Meeting Molly in the morning for a look around. We can get a trap if needed.
Linz
when I was looking for Sam, we tried quite a few cages but Romanian dogs are very clever at not getting caught, we would put food inside the cage and a bit outside, cover the cage with ferns and leaves, Sam would eat the food outside the cage but never go inside. You could try RSPCA they lent me a cage. vets sometimes have cages, they might lend you one. x
Molly
I went to the stables and spoke to the owner. She saw her near the water trough but she run off towards Wick lane. She will put food out in the hope she comes back.
Has anyone got a trip cage we coukd use. Or know where we can get one?
The stables said they are happy to put one down. X
June
Fingers crossed that she is found soon, I am available tomorrow if she is still out there. Information also given to Wentworth golf club
Molly
Sighted at the stables next to the Fox and Hounds pub Bishopsgate Road tw20 0xu next to the great Windsor park. We are going there now to talk to stables.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Latest sighting this morning 9.15am at stables next to the horse and hound, Bishopgates park A30 Egham. sighter has left a message on owners phone and also called us so we can update.
Molly
We also looked again last night but no sightings, we will continue today.
Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. x
Linz
Looked for Saba last night around Valley End, Sunningdale & Virginia Water area, spoke to a few people & gave them leaflets, no sign of Saba, I will continue again Saturday night if she hasn't come home, fingers crossed.

Bumped due to sighting.

Thank you Paula. I will pop Saba up on Facebook Doglost West London & underline the fact that this is a very scared rescue dog who is completely unfamiliar with the area she is running in hence the constant running with no specific route or pattern. Any pursuit or chasing will only make her spook & potentially run into danger ,railtrack ,road etc. If spotted please call owner or Doglost so that we can work with the area Saba is in. Thank you everyone.
PaulaK
I have now spoken to owner about Saba and they are all fully aware of the do's and donts when Saba is seen. We are relying on sightings of this scared girl as she is covering a lot of ground and it looks like most sightings are in the evenings. She is no longer wearing her harness or collar. Everyone should be aware that Saba is a Romanian Rescue dog and has not been in her home for long before she became lost. We are all doing everything we can to try and get her back to safety and Linz (whose Rommy dog Sam went missing previously) is hoping to get over to the latest sighting area this evening.
PaulaK
So pleased she has been seen again but you must not chase her - she will just keep running. Ive text and am free to come over this afternoon to help and give some advice
Molly
I should have said 88640 (not 88460) is Saba but we could not catch her. So please change to sighted not found. Heartbreaking to be so close. She is a very scared dog.
Molly
We got close to Saba but she ran off. 88460 is Saba but should say sighted not found. She was on Grant Walk Sunningdale. She is so scared she just ran off so we couldn't catch her. The chase continues.
ClaireC
Everything crossed that the found dog is Saba xx
cassiecat07
Have spoken to a very excited owner who says 88640 is her dog. She is going to ring number shown on the found page. Fingers crossed.
Unknown
Found dog does look like Saba
cassiecat07
Please take a look at dog found in Sunningdale, Ascot. Found 88640
PaulaK
Not 100% sure about the previous sightings Pearl46 but was definitely her last night as was a family member who saw her. Im hoping to get over tomorrow afternoon too
Pearl46
I am trying to get some clarity here,as on the FB pages she was spotted several times in the park....but at the same time around Chobham. Are there two similar dogs.I know that from Windsor Great Park,it is easy to get to Virginia Water,Wentworth and Sunningdale, but as in a previous post a dog thought to be Saba in Chobham was in two places at once,it seems.I am in Virginia Water area on Saturday,so I will keep lookout.
PaulaK
Could admin please send posters to SL5 postcode too please?
PaulaK
So pleased to get the message she has been seen! Come on Saba stay put its time to go home
Unknown
As well as food some of her bedding or your dirty clothing would help her stay around there
AlisonH
Bumped due to todays sighting.
Fran
Saba has been sighted this evening down Onslow Road Sunningdale. This is freaky as my husband sighted her! She ran down the bottom and into chobham common which then goes into Wentworth Golf course. I went down there and a man also just saw her and confirmed it was her by looking at a picture, she ran away. We were also told that someone saw her yesterday same place. We have left food there and going back tomorrow to look again. Fingers x
PaulaK
Reshared on FB - come on Saba show yourself x
Molly
No further sightings, so she may have moved on. The search continues.
allimac
Good she is being sighted, but perhaps add notice to posters about not chasing her. It wouldbe a shame if she was scared out of the park! Fingers crossed she spots owner soon and is reunited. x
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Thanks Jayne. I have just had a chat with Saba's owner. Good to have this recent sighting & that Saba seems to be staying in the Park area. I have discussed Doglost's scenting/tracking advice & forwarded the advice notes. Fingers crossed Saba is seen again today, hopefully by her owner.

email sent to admin...
Yesterday, Wednesday 17th June I was walking my dogs at Virginia Water near Heather Gardens. I went to cross onto Smiths Lawn and there was a dog looking lost. There were a number of people around erecting a marquis and my husband thought maybe it belonged to one of them. It turned and stared at us obviously wondering it we were its owners but as we neared it ran off in the direction of the hill leading to the lake. Today, we saw the poster and think it was Saba. On our walk today we kept a look out but sadly nothing. Please let us know if she is found.

It is such good news that Saba is still in the park as it is a safe area
What time was she last seen
I have put some posters up but will poster more
Molly stay strong you will get her back
Lots of love xx
Molly
I spoke to the lady who tried to catch Saba and also the park ranger who confirmed they have been trying to catch her. She has been seen near the polo field, Valley Gardens, Johnson pond area. She is very scared but looks in good health.
Fran
I have had a call from the owner and yes Saba has been spotted in the Great Windsor Park by the Polo field. The warden could not catch her. We are getting closer...... fingers crossed
Pearl46
I saw in a comment just now, posted on Facebook that Saba was sighted in Windsor Great Park on Weds, but no reply to the poster,so we assume that the dog in Chobham is a false sighting and that she is still in the park. Are you aware of this please?

Molly
Yes same dog as the one from great Windsor park. Unfortunately the sighting today was an error. The person who told us saw yesterday's message Re sighting and didn't check date it was posted. So no further sightings since yesterday morning.
Pearl46
In touch with the grandaugher of owner on the Paws in Berkshire page on FB...she did not seem to know about this sighting,so I have replied about her being sighted...Don't know how she would have gotten to Chobham, quite a way.
Pearl46
Is this the same dog that is missing from Windsor Great Park...on the FB Page, and nothing mentioned about the sighting...
Molly
Saba has been seen near Valley End school this morning. They tried to befriend her but she was scared and run off towards Chobham/Chobham common.
PaulaK
Any news? Any new sightings?
PaulaK
Shared on FB - sorry cant help today
Fran
Saba was seen last night and now this morning (16th) over by Valley End School. She was very scared and ran off. Maybe she is heading up towards Cobham common.
