- I am so greatful to all off you who keep sharing and looking for Athena. It means so much to us. Sadly Athena is still missing.. things have been very difficult, my niece still talks about her everyday and asks when she is coming home. All I hope is that she is safe somewhere, being feed, looked after and loved- she is micro chipped so I our main hope now is that she is taken to the vets and scanned. There is a large reward for any information leading up to her safe return. No questions asked. we just want her home.

- Athena's been missing a year (16/6/2016) - someone must know where she is! Please keep sharing and looking out for her.
I have bumped her page up - 2016-06-17 06:18 LindaT
- Athena is on my list of dogs I am following and every SBT that looks remotely like her gets my attention either in the street or on lost/found sites. She has such distinctive markings I am sure that she would be spotted by anyone who knew she was missing. Perhaps the newspapers could run a story and photo as a reminder, there must be a lot of folk who are not aware and it could be that if someone has her they may be feeling they have got away with her after so long and lower their guard if they are out and about with her? Just a thought x

- Hi Silver, thank you. thats exactly what i think, someone has picked her up - not knowing she is missing. We did one article in the bucks examiner, but definitely think another would be a good idea - will get to that this week.
So pleased the target on TC has already reached! thank you, im not on twitter so i havent been able to do any of that.
Thanks again everyone for all you support, we are staying strong and staying positive xxx - 2015-08-10 06:14 Nicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- Thanks so much for posting Stacey. Sophie has checked this dog & although similar it's not Athena.
Thanks so much Seeks for your help on the Thunderclap. The link is just below if any one can support & share. Great idea Silver re young people in Chesham x - 2015-08-10 03:21 Seeks
- Sophie her TC has made target but will get on it and push it to at least 150...The more the better.
Have asked her to be put in the #ScanMe Tweetathons and promise you folk care and are still looking. Hang in there xx - 2015-08-09 21:48 Stacey
- Hello. would this be Athena by any chance ?

- Sophie, am still thinking a lot about Athena and have not forgotten her. Seems like someone may have picked her up and is looking after her, not realising she is microchipped. Any luck with Bucks Examiner? Perhaps concentrate on postering local food shops and newsagents as most people use these on a regular basis. Also collar young people with staffies in Chesham saying there is reward in case they know her whereabouts. I am also following your posts, Seeks and like Athena, wishing for safe return of Pup xx

- Have shared the page Sophie. There is a Dog Show on the Rye in High Wycombe on both days this weekend. Would it help to get some posters up there? May manage to hit a large part of the local dog owning community.

- I think the problem, having gone there to walk dogs, look for Athena, and put up a few posters, is that the posters put up in the first few days have now got wet and faded. I managed to replace a few, and put some more up in other places (including with the snack van half way up Frith Hill). Will try to go back out that way again later in the week with more posters. x
- 2015-07-25 06:13 Nicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- I agree Sophie. Hopefully more postering will get the word out further x
- 2015-07-25 00:58 Sophie
- We have also spoken to almost every one in Hyde Heath, sent a picture of Athena to the local pub and the local shop xx
- 2015-07-25 00:56 Sophie
- Thank you for putting up posters xxx they must have blown down, we covered Hyde Heath, Amersham and Chesham in posters. I will go over them again tomorrow, hopefully they haven't all come down.
I'm starting to think she must be with someone, I can't imagine she has been out all this time without any sightings?.. X - 2015-07-24 18:59 silver
- I managed to put up 7 posters in the rain in Lee Common, Hawridge, Ballinger and South Heath before it got a bit ridiculous to carry on. People must have thought I was totally mad. I drove back via Hyde Heath and must say did not see any posters there so really this needs doing. Will resume next week with Amersham as I am away over weekend until Tuesday.
- 2015-07-23 16:55 sarap3038
- Hi Silver, yes we did meet on the search for Max. Sophie, I can get out and help Sat morning if you would like me to. What is best? Searching an area or postering - tell me and I will help. Happy to hit Missenden/prestwood for you or travel over to Wendover if we think she may have got that far. I still think (unless someone has managed to pick her up) she is local to Chesham where she was spotted.
- 2015-07-23 09:06 Sophie
- im going to poster around Great Missenden, Prestwood and go over to Wedover area if i have time xxx
- 2015-07-23 08:56 Sophie
- Brilliant, thank you. Im home this weekend and will do a search again of a few of the areas, and put up more posters. Thanks again everyone xxx
- 2015-07-21 18:15 silver
- I did Little Missenden and The Lee this afternoon, but just tip of iceberg really. Will go back to do Lee Common and re-look at Hyde Heath but need people to do Ballinger, Wendover and other surrounding villages. I can do Amersham later in week. I met a chap who said that the Lee has an on-line forum "The Lee Forum" and said it reaches loads of people. Article in Bucks Examiner would definitely give a boost. Sophie, I know it's depressing, but have you contacted Highways Agency just in case they recovered a dog. Best rule this out. Once we have sighting, we can do all sorts, more scenting, b-b-q, possible tracker dog, feeding station and trap etc. etc. Another search in Hyde Heath woods may be beneficial. Keep calm and carry on! Paws Crossed xx
- 2015-07-21 17:31 Sophie
- thank you everyone - i definitely agree. im back in the area again this weekend and going to go around a wider area with more posters. Fingers crossed we will get some good news soon xxx
- 2015-07-21 13:28 silver
- Sorry meant to say "someone must have seen Athena - not "someone must have Athena".
- 2015-07-20 19:12 silver
- Hi sarap3038 - I think we met in the search for Max a few months ago - am from High Wycombe also. Spoke with Sophie and said will poster Little Missenden and Amersham where any gaps. I think it is a good idea to have a renewed campaign as someone must have Athena. Good idea to maybe review the area where she went missing and start search point again from there. Need to post the Lee and Wendover in case she went west. Come on Athena xx
- 2015-07-20 16:50 sarap3038
- With the school holidays about to start, is this a good time to go for a fresh push finding Athena? More posters in the woods and where she was last seen in the hope that people with more time on their hands may spot her or may help look for her? I am in High Wycombe, but happy to come and help with posters/searching if you want me to. Big Hugs to Steph - I spoke to her in the first few days xxx

- 2015-07-17 08:07 Sophie
- we have no been infromed that there is someone who owns a staff living in that area who keeps getting out. So its not Athena :(. Thanks for all the shares xx
- 2015-07-16 13:47 Sophie
- someone has said to me that they may have spotted athena ( last week) , or a dog that looks very much like athena with a woman in Old Amersham, Piggots Orchard area - she saw the dog wandering around and the woman came over claiming it was her dog, however the dog didnt seem happy about going to her at all. This may be nothing, or completly innocent. But i thought it worth mentioning. We have checked the area and put up posters but nothing so far. I would like to make clear that if this is the case, and anyone comes across the woman - ALL we want is Athena back, we will give the reward ( to the woman or who ever ) and absolutely no questions asked. Please keep an eye and let it be known that we are not going to be upset if she hasnt been handed in - we will give the reward with her safe retun and thank who ever. We just want her home. - Sorry to hear about Athena - maybe I can offer some help. I do work and have had serious health issues this year, but perhaps help on search or with posters. Presumably advice sheet given, vets contacted, Stokenchurch and Chiltern Dog Rescues notified. Would Bucks Examiner put something in about Athena? I had drive around area on Friday evening but likely to need full search party, but we need another sighting. Sincerely hope Athena is safely back with her family soonh xx

- The post being referred to below, is a poor sweet dog who has gone to heaven and her owner was being sought via the media. This is NOT Athena. Please keep looking for our girl here. x
- 2015-07-08 23:43 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Please can we get lots more posters up. Athena seems to be elusive, which is keeping her safe, but we need people to know to watch for her and have the number immediately to hand, in order to all. If everyone could just print a couple of posters and put them up, it will help make the job easier and help get her spotted quicker. Owner is really struggling with this loss of her fur baby and family and helpers are doing so much, but any extra help greatly apreciated. Thank you so much! x

- I live quite close to Wheelhouse in Chesham and walk my dog through Meades Water Gardens everyday so will keep a keen eye out. If there's anywhere else at this end of Chesham you'd particularly like me to check out please let me know. I usually cover about 5 miles or so with the dog every day anywhere between Lowndes Park/Pednor/Mayhall Farm area/Chesham Bois and Hodds Woods - will keep on looking.

- thank you so much for all the support - sharing and making it as public as possible - we just want her home. I have spoken to the kennels and they assured me they are doing eveything they can. We have been made aware that there is a traveler community near to where she went missing, however the kennels have confirmed to me that they have known them for a very long time and are certain they are nothing to do with her missing. However we are still going to cover all possibilities.
We are getting so desperate for any information and her safe return. Please keep sharing and keep an eye out for her.
Thank you so much to everyone - your support and help has been really amazing, at such an awful time. Thank you. Last edited: 2015-07-08 19:54:38 by Sophie - 2015-07-01 14:00 skyninchar

- This is MASSIVE please for help. We need to make Athena too hot to handle - right now! Can we have helpers call the local radio, the local papers, the police and council authorities. Owner is far too distraught to cope. We need certain peoples to be aware of a massive reward for the safe return of Athena. We need you, the public and helpers, to make Athena so hot she has to get home. Please look at the area Athena went missing from and you will understand these concerns. It is possible to get her home. We need the public's help and the media and we need the police to check some areas for her. Leave a message here if you can do any of this. PLEASE! Thank you.

- Athena could be lying low due to the heat and sometimes they do hide for days, so hopefully that is just what she's doing. Owner, owner's mum and Nicky are on the case and doing everything DogLost advises. Steph, we are all willing Athena home very soon. Dogs often live in the wild for a bit and can be elusive but that's fine as its keeping her safe, when she's ready to come out we are ready to get her. Hang in there. Thousands and thousands of dogs are gettting home all the time. Come on Athena, it's your turn sweetheart. Thank you Kay9. x

- People in the area seem to be aware and keeping an eye out. I check the woods between Hyde Heath and Chesham every evening with smelly food, so people are out there looking. Everyone's upset about Athena, lots of support. Post details of any sightings, and I'll be out searching, I'm sure others will be too. I have owner's number in my phone, and carry dog food with me all the time. I'm sure I'm not alone - if Athena's in this area, someone will spot her soon. Xxx

- Owner is out now and Nicky out soon. Any helpers, remember if you see Athena, do NOT chase! Lie low and just watch. Owner will let her come to her and not chase. If she doesn't come over, that's fine. Let her go. She will come back if you don't chase. Owner and Nicky know exactly what to do. Help is needed to poster and deliver flyers and to simply sit and watch - that is what we need right now. Helpers sitting out there, even in cars, just watching and reporting any sightings. Many thanks. x

- Thank goodness man in a van never got the dog, whoever it was! And thank goodness we have more sightings! This is fantastic news. Well done Nicky & Jayne. Nicky will advise owners of that Bertiedog. Good plan. I've sent the email advice to Nicky, owner & owner's sister. I am here in the background if you need anything more, but Jayne is the expert here! You go girls! Let's get Athena back home wher she belongs. Bless her little heart. She is doing so well. x

- We are walking in Chesham Bois today and will look out. Has the owner done a leaflet drop to houses around the edge of the wood - it can make a big difference as not everyone is a dog walker and may not be on social media. leaflet drops were what helped us find ours when he was lost for a week.

- Update to say sighting was at 3.15pm on Tuesday.
- 2015-06-25 09:40 Nicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- Another possible sighting has just been reported on FB
'Coming through bellingdon on Tuesday there was a dog seen very similar colours as the dog in picture. But the dog I saw seemed a bit older and going a bit grey in the face. I stopped but so did a man in a van who tried to call the dog back but seemed very nervous and ran off. The van driver followed the dog further down into bellingdon not 100% if he manged to get it or if even the same dog. Thought I would just mention just in case it was.' - 2015-06-25 09:03 Nicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison

- Sorry to see that ATHENA is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (88284)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
