Is it possible that the owners could put some posters out? If Milo has managed to get himself free ( supposing he was stuck down a hole), he could easily have been picked up by someone who may think he is a stray, especially if he was thin & dirty.
There is also the possibility if he was taken & got himself free then posters would help. Have spoken to Milo's owner re this.

Nothing unfortunately, jenny4. They are still searching but have heard no sounds.

Any news ? xx
lee
Looked all around local woods with hose and funnel down all rabbit/fox/badger holes; no luck yet. Will try again tomorrow.

There is no response now from Lee's phone, email or texts. I know he has local help with farming neighbours, the same farmer who found my own dog, so really hoping for a good outcome.

i too thought a plastic bag was the way forward.Maybe Jenny(Tiga) will be able to confirm this...... I was told tracks could be traced for up to 14 day? hope this is correct xx

I gave them k9search number as don't think Tiga is in the area now. They have spoken but of course it is so long now (3rd night tonight). They have asked them to call back again as soon as there is a sighting though. I will mention the bag just in case although I have heard that the polythene has a smell of its own, whereas the smell on a bed will be detectable for years. Would love someone to clarify that situation as have always advised wrapping the items in a sealed bag till now.

hope hes home soon Fergal, have they thought of a tracker dog ?Maybe get them to put his bed in a sealed bag just in case they use one xx

Jenny4, I was wondering about deep ditches myself but could only check a few. They have taken the Springer out but he doesn't seem to know what to do. The owners son is very upset. I will ask about the pits. Thank you x

....No slurry pits on the farm thank goodness. Owner is going to try the hose & funnel. Also suggested giving the Springer Milo's bed for scent and asked to find him (they don't live together). Owner has spoken to fire brigade, who have dug up about 8 this year, always JRT's. Milo has lost a lot of collars, but is now wearing a new one. Lee cannot hear anything from rabbit holes but Fire Brigade confirmed that this can be the case even when a dog is barking - hoping the hose & funnel will do the trick and he is going out tonight again to listen.Last edited: 2015-06-26 16:44:56 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

I have managed a plastic double poster (Tess and Milo) on the sign-board at Kilkhampton, and handed out flyers to the shops, garage and pub. My ink ran out but got a few done. There had been some people selling photographs at the farm (up a very long private track) exactly when Milo went missing. Wonder if they could be looked out for in the area, they may have seen something of him?

There are no slurry pits in your area are there? I always ask this I know but there are known cases of animals in them....Also any deep ditches ...have you taken the Springer back out to see if he can locate him?

Thanks Fergal. I have updated the fb page (doglost cornwall) with the info & asked if anyone in area to help postering etc.

Managed to speak to the owner Lee. Milo went missing with a Springer Spaniel Tuesday. They often go together around the hedges but the springer returned without Milo and looking very nervous. I have suggested the hose & rope to listen down rabbit holes (there are hundreds on the farm). Owner has contacted all Dog Wardens both counties and RSPCA, and is going out every day to listen for him but has heard nothing. The farm is very close to Kilkhampton. Have suggested putting up posters and I am off with some flyers now (will incorporate Tess as well)

Have tried asking around but nothing and no answer on phone either Max. I will print off a couple of posters and get them out in area. Hopefully Milo is back from his adventure by now.
