Hiya every one, just 2 say we have been to BlackBerry farm open day & everyone recognized Archie were pleased he looked so well! He won best rescue dog & also best rescue of the year! We are so proud of our boy! Will put photos on my Facebook later, not been able to work out how 2 do his own Facebook page, but is on mine!xx
Archie's mum
Ta will try that! Archie doing really well, really tired 2day as had a very busy day yesterday, had a get together with a 5 old friends plus a dog, was unsure how he would cope, always a bit wary of men! Probably something in his past, also very brave, as never more than 2ft from me, let him loose in back garden, after a worrying few minutes he was fine. Had got visitor's to stagger arrival& ignore him, shouldn't have worried, all arrived armed with treats & new squeaky toys, great! He now has a new best friend, Foxy! His new bed is now getting a bit small,as he insists on taking most of the toys to bed! Only a growl at Dizzy, the shitzu, when Dizzy wanted to play with Bertie! He even wanted to sit on Chris's lap, she was wearing white trousers, she didn't mind, felt rather privileged Only blots were, he went in my shed & came out with the other 1/2 of the loaf,he seems 2 like wholemeal bread & we missed a jug of cream on the table, just managed 2 catch him in time, so now reclining in his chair, snoring loudly ! Will let you know when he's opened his Facebook page!xxxx
Liberty Belle
Just a simple tip to make sure Archie does not put his feet on the hob if it is still hot after cooking - I have always put an clean saucepan of cold water on a hot hob after I switch off just in case a cat should jump up on it. The hob soon cools down this way.
Archie's mum
It's lovely that he has become a celebrity ! He seems 2 be enjoying it! Fast asleep at present just got back from vets, they are very happy with him, he has put a kilo on already! I shall get Richard 2 start him up a Facebook page over the weekend,I haven't a clue where to start! Most of his antics seem to start with the arrival of Richard coming home! Archie now thinks he should be fussed by everyone, I do hope stardom won't go 2 his head!

What a wonderful character Archie is including diving down into the kitchen bin, demanding walks and playing with his toys - lovely to read updates as to what he has been up to ! J. x

I just love the ageing rock star hairstyle!
charlie and sooty
Well what a star, bless him!!! Welcome home Archie and stay safe, and good luck to mum and dad x

Liberty Belle: I agree!
Yes, from the updates on here it seems that Archie is not exactly behaving well since he has returned home. He has been eating everything he can find and has discovered that he can dive down into the kitchen bin. He's also taken a liking to standing on the hob (eek!) and he's running his mum and Dad ragged as he's still demanding up to 5 walks a day!
Other than that his toys are scattered everywhere and he's sleeping a lot so obviously finding it hard to get out of survival mode, bless him!!
How about it Archie's mum? He really is a celebrity now and needs a page for himself methinks!!
Liberty Belle
Archie is a star now! Look how many times his poster was shared on this site - 1,200 times!! Look how many times this page has been viewed - over 6,545 times!! Archie needs his own Facebook page so that everyone can follow his adventures.
Archie's mum
Yes tell me about it, he was too tired for pointless! He's had me walk him up to the woods 5 times today, spent about an hour in the pet shop, being pampered by Paula Kent, got a nice new harness,as he won't tell me where he left the other one, he only had about 3 weeks! Oh it's hard work eating all the time! Xx
Liberty Belle
Archie is an excellent forager in the outside world. Bread in a basket is so easy for him now. Would have loved to have seen him up on the hob. I had cat who once removed a plaice fillet that had just been put under the eye level grill to cook by hooking it with a claw. Look at Archie if there is food about to see if he has that glint in his eye & be prepared to move fast to save the food!
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
That made me chuckle Archie's mum little pickle glad he is doing well and was recognised in the vets ! J. x
Archie's mum
Archie doing well now, thank you all, he has decided I am not feeding him enough, little angel pulled wicker basket out of shelving unit & was 1/2 way through the loaf of bread I had bought to make as summer pudding for our visitors at the weekend! More shopping again tomorrow! Then up on hob to try & finish loaf! Oh he is now a celebrity, regognised in the vets! Xxx

Such brilliant news! Well done all. Will also be thinking of Archie when I next see Pointless! Stay safe now little one x
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for the update Archie's mum. You must be so relieved and I'm sure Archie will recover from his cut and ticks soon with your tlc.

It's so amusing that Archie is home for the start of Pointless this afternoon! I will always be reminded of him when I see that programme now!
I'm also very happy for Richard that he will be able to celebrate his birthday on Thursday without having to go out searching in the early hours.

Thanks so much to all of you who have been helping and offering support to Archie's mum over the time he has been lost. I know it has been much appreciated by both her and Richard.
If anyone sees any posters up in your area please would you take them down so everyone will know he is home now!

Special thanks again to Gill (& Tilly!) who was so instrumental in catching Archie today and reuniting him with his mum.

Thanks also to Jenny for travelling over to Surrey today and I'm pleased you met the boy when he was at home and not still running around in the countryside. As you can see from the new photo he is now catching up on some rest.
(You may have to refresh the page to see the reunited photo)
Please stay close to your family now Archie!

Yes it was the threat of TIga again! We were well on the way to track Archie when I got the call and as I was so close I carried on to meet the infamous Archie and get some photos of him back home with mum and his favourite toys. He didn't act like he had been on the run for 3 weeks as he ran round the house first with one toy and then the other.
Liberty Belle
Such wonderful, wonderful, wonderful news! So happy for you.

Thanks you all for helping e in the last few weeks, couldn't have managed it without all your good wishes,Archie fine only 4 kgs lightekgsr & a cut under his back leg to be sorted tomorrow, obviously you were all right, what with Jenny coming down, he did let her get 1/2 here b4 giving himself up & obviously knew pointless starts again today ! Thank you so much Gill!
I have just heard that Archie is back with his mum .. I think she will be having a few choice words with him about giving her the runaround .. despite it not being her fault that he escaped (from the dogsitter while she was away) in the first place.
I'm sure that Tilly was a great incentive to his being caught along with the Thai food and I can't thank you enough for being kind enough to help Archie's mum. We could do with more people like you helping us!
After such a long time out on his own, coping with his epilepsy and managing to find food for himself I'm sure Archie will relish the tlc his mum will be giving him.
I know that Archie's mum will give us an update as to Archie's condition as soon as she is home from the vets.
Welcome home Archie!

So so so pleased it was him!! Thought he might come back to the house when everyone had gone to work today. It was the lure of Tilly on heat and the Thai leftovers!! Please let me know how he is after his visit to the vet. xxx

Many, many thanks to the lovely, brilliant Gill for her efforts today trying to catch Archie, taking the trouble to contact us and kindly driving us around to look for him. So very much appreciated.

Special prayers tonight that Archie can be caught and brought to safety - Julie
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I've just spoken to Archie's mum who is now at Dockenfield where Archie has been seen today. Apparently he was seen on the road but has gone on to farmland where the kind owners are helping to try and catch him. Archie was seen rummaging around their bins so it seems he's hungry again. The farm owners also have a dog who is in season so another reason for Archie to stick around (despite his being castrated)
Jenny has spoken with both Archie's mum and the lovely farm owner who also has a good trap and understands about manning them on a regular basis. Many thanks to them for being understanding and helping.
If Archie is not caught tonight then Jenny will be going tomorrow to help Archie's mum.
Come on Archie, you need to go to your mum so you can start on your epilepsy medicine and be safe again.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that Ray is brilliant but I believe he usually only helps with dogs that are very scared and who have been on the run and in the same area for many weeks. As Archie's mum has already been in touch I with k9 I am hoping she will come out to help very soon. I will ring you Archie's mum later when I have had dinner!

We have looked at Ray Dedicoat's website, I think he runs a sanctuary in West Midlands, not sure if looking at right website. Been in touch with Jenny @K9trackers, I know she is mega busy, will try & I believe she is busy this weekend, will try & contact again later, when we get back, thanks for all your support

Richard just got back, now chucking it down, presume he will not be out as wouldn't go for a walk normally if really raining, leftover last night's tea gone, don't know who had it!
Unknown
I have also heard of a guy calledRay Dedicoat who is experienced in catching stray dogs. Think he has a website???
Liberty Belle
I don't know what the weather is like in your part of Surrey, but where I am in another area of Surrey today is a big change after all the heat. Had some fine rain and a lot cooler and duller. We are feeling very lethargic now and not wanting to do anything. Maybe Archie is feeling like that too. Perhaps he is recharging his batteries ready for another spurt of activity later.
Unknown
Not sure if they can help but you could try contacting www.k9tracker.co.uk? Or is it possible too camp out overnight?
Archie's mum
Richard now sitting in the field, hoping he will come out today, just worried,he has had a bad fit & wandered off disoriented, hopefully nowhere near the road! We are at the end of our tether, not knowing what else we can do x
Archie's mum
Obviously not hungry or has he moved on,he didn't show, left him some just in case, even left him some gravy!,I'm sure the stables dog will find it! Not seen now since Thursday evening, I know it's been hot, but been out in evening & early morning, not sure about weather today.xxx

Just off to get fish&chips to see if he fancies them, you never know our luck!
Archie's mum
Sorry, misread your post, thought it said 6 inches rather than 6 ft, another blonde moment & not enough sleep!. Richard has been doing the sitting in the field this morning, came in @ about 1.00pm, no luck, boy not seen since Thursday! Thanks about the trap, but I think it may be a bit small-scale Archie is bigger than he looks, his coat size is 22inch, from neck to tail! I know he looks tiny in the photao, but his normal weight is 19kg! Quite solid bless him! I hope he might come 2 fish & chips tonight! Will let you know xxLast edited: 2015-07-12 09:04:23 by Archie's mum

Have a trap in RH10 nr Gatwick which is 6' long
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Very hard work in the heat Archie's mum but please stay positive.
You can do this, I know you can!
I can get someone with a trap to you if and when needed but I still think you can catch him yourself. He is very close and getting closer every day, but we know that most dogs will hide up in the shade when it's so hot.
The weather is supposed to change and be cooler soon so still have everything crossed for you. Just keep at it! :)
Archie's mum
Thanks, but no it wasn't him, but I am thinking of swapping him! Sorry no update last night, but we didn't see him, so tired, came in went straight to bed, left phone in fleece pocket in porch, only just remembered! He seems perfectly happy where he is, not sure if he even wants to come home! Richard off for an hour before it gets too hot. We thought we might try a fish & chip supper tonight, I'm beginning to think the only way to get him may be a trap, cos obviously he is not missing the TV, only realized last night I have missed all of Wimbledon!

Too much to hope that 89276 found GU21 is Archie?
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement everyone.
This is so frustrating! Archie is so close and yet he just doesn't go that little bit further that will enable him to go home to a lovely cosy bed and his TV viewing! I'm told Pointless starts again soon so could he be waiting for that??
Seriously though .. Archie's mum is doing absolutely everything I have advised. Early searches/watching being done in this hot weather as Archie's more likely to be holed up in the shade in the heat of the day. The water trough seems to be his place to drink and is being watched but he probably has other places he can use too. Evening searches being done too and the kind stable owners are doing all they can to help. However, I think their Retriever is enjoying extra snacks from Archie's mum!
BBQ's, posters, car door left open, scent/food trails have been left, bedding left and fresh scent articles (unwashed socks I think!) being used regularly and, of course, all the searches.
I think we just have to be very patient and wait for Archie to come even closer and then Archie's mum will be able to go through the 'catch your dog' part of my advice.
We must remember that he has been out for 2 wks now and seems to be feeding himself so he won't be as hungry as some lost dogs. That obviously works to our disadvantage but sooner or later he's bound to be tempted!

PaulaK, Linda and Liberty Belle: Thanks!
PaulaK I think Archie's mum may appreciate that as she must be very tired now, having been out in all weathers and at all times! Also I know you are used to situations like this .. and if the 'threat' of your appearance will help then yes please!!
Linda, thanks for the offer but Archie's mum has a friend with a dog that Archie is good pals with and she has been over to see if he will come to that dog, but again no luck .. yet.

You can do this Archie's mum. I know you can.
I've got everything crossed that tomorrow will be the day you take him home.

angiem
Keep at it, you'll get him soon!!! Xx
Archie's mum
Thanks, look ay found dog, sadly not my boy,but he does look just like one i used to have!Just got back, not seen him today, Jonty, the stable owner, saw him last night, he was getting his tea, from the hedgerow, obviously he didn't fancy the tripe I'd left him! He seems more confident, let him get a lot closer, about 20ft away, didn't run off, just sauntered back into the hedge! Not quite sure if he wants to come home, he seems to be enjoying his holiday too much! It's very frustrating!
Unknown
Maybe sit in the car with all the doors open and a worn shirt blowing around, he just may pick up the scent , you could also take a disposable bbq and cook a few sausages xx

Probably too much hair, but please check found dog 89276 to be on the safe side!
Archie's mum
You & me both, just off again 4 another couple of hours, think I will stay up the top by water trough, maybe stay in the car, with the doors open,at least it will be more comfortable than sitting on the ground!

Just keep doing what you are doing Archie's mum as you are doing everything right. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before you find and catch Archie.
If he is sensible he will be holed up somewhere in the shade in this hot weather, especially as he is hairless.
If the roads are still closed because of the power lines being down it may be a good idea to see if you can get a poster to the workers/and the Police where they are stopping people .. just in case they spot Archie.
I keep thinking today will be the day you are reunited with your lad .. and it will be soon I hope.
Archie's mum
Been out this morning at 1st light, bed & socks & toys still there, not moved, but food& bowl gone, think stable dog may have found the bowl of tripe & taken off with bowl, will look for it later, hopefully boy will come back home soonxx
Liberty Belle
A great character! What a lovely boy. He's got great stamina.
Archie's mum
Oh forgforgot to say he usually fine with other dogs,so long as they don't chase!
Archie's mum
Hi everyone, just got home again, now looking& feeling like a lobster! Very hot out there, I think I may need some help, Not sure I think I may have seen him coming through the hedgerow, but I was assisted by the stables retriever, who chased him off the other day-to-day she knew I had treats! But after she went, I had the feeling I was being watched! But I think it was 2 hot for him to come out! The people at the stables are going to keep an eye out for him. Absolutely done in, will probably go out again later, but I do need an early night! Everyone has been so kind, unable to poster farnham house hotel, as road closed due to a problem with electric cables,& no answer on the phone, so I presume their electric is out
Linda
Been following your posts and praying Archie comes home soon. If there's anything I can do eves/weekends please let me know. Does Archie like other lurchers enough to approach them? If so I could walk my 2 near where you have sightings to see if he might follow them?
Liberty Belle
PaulaK, It was great when Saba handed herself in. What an adventure she had but you kept after her.
PaulaK
Following Archies adventures daily, haven't been able to do anything this week to offer help but if you want company/sandwiches/coffee/someone to talk to on Sunday I could get over? Richard says that Archie likes watching Pointless. I think that he is really a secret fan of Ray Mears and his Bushcraft programmes. He is now trying out all the things that he has watched about living off the countryside. Perhaps his television viewing in the future will have to be censored.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Oh Archie, you are really leading your mum on a merry chase!
Just talked to Archie's mum again and today has been quite productive in that there has been the sighting down at Northbrook and also that she has found another place that Archie could be sleeping.
I have suggested putting bedding/scent articles in both the stables and the shelter she's seen so that Archie will find and hopefully recognise his mum's scent. That should ensure that he stays in that area and close to the stables.

How very kind of the chap at Northbrook to search online for Archie after spotting him. Many thanks to him for contacting Archie's mum and especially for taking the time to show her where he was seen.
There was a suggestion of setting up a trap in the place he had been seen at Northbrook but unless Archie is going specifically to that place on a very regular basis then I think it is best to stick to trying to catch him at the stables. If things change then we can change our plans too. I just worry that if someone tries to trap him and either the trap fails or it catches another animal (fox, cat) and Archie sees this, then he won't want to go near one again.

If we need to use a trap at a later stage then I will be able to get one there and we will make sure that it is monitored at all times.
I think that after today when Archie's mum saw him much closer to her and he did not run off so quickly that we will not need one .. and it would be so much better if his own mum or dad can catch him themselves.
You may find that sitting somewhere in one of the middle fields (near the shelter) that has a good overall viewpoint is easier and more productive than walking miles looking for your lad.
Best of luck to you tomorrow and please remember what I said about taking it very slowly and calmly when you see him.
Liberty Belle
Good luck. What a lad! It must be a relief, though, to know that he is there and going strong.
angiem
Fingers crossed for you!! He is so lucky that you're going the extra mile, just wish he knew it!!! So many of us rooting for you!! Xx
Archie's mum
Tell me about it, been sat in a field all day, he didn't turn up till 2.00! Came a bit closer this time, I must have moved,as he trotted through hedge& disappeared then a few minutes l8tr appeared on the other side, then wandered back up to the top,he was just coming back down & the dog got out& chased him off!, then I got a call from another lovely man, who had seen him whilst working in Northbrook estate, a few miles away, he had gone into the office & loOkeechobee my boy on t'internet & waited 4 me at entrance 2 show me where he had been, now gone, had a look round with my friend& her dogs, but 2 no avail! Went back 2 stables 4 a few hrs, we think we saw him in hedge, came home 4 tea & then back again in an hr. Hopefully he will get braver, I think I've found where he may have been sleeping, will park myself closer l8r & in the morning!
Liberty Belle
After chasing deer will Archie be contented with watching Pointless on television anymore!!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
As I have not had any word from Archie's mum this morning it seems that he has not been found at the stables yet. Hopefully he will stay in the area, which is likely as he has already been there for a few days and obvioulsy has a good food source! I suggested to Archie's mum that, if he was not in the stable this morning, she should lay a scent trail of whiffy food (sardines work well altho he prefers mackerel I'm told!) from where she last saw him last night up through the field to the stables. Also said it would help to have their car parked up with the door open so the Archie can always go to that if he prefer. Just keeping everything crossed that he did not chase that deer too far and that he will be back to the yard today.
A special thanks to the stable owners who are doing everything they canto help Archie's mum find her boy. They have a dog themselves so I'm sure they can imagine how ARchie's mum is feeling right now. I think they may have changed the arrangements for their horses too in order to accomodate helping catch Archie. That is much appreciated, thank you.
Come on Archie .. get yourself back up to the stables and to your mum who is doing everything she can to find you and take you back to your home comforts (including watching the TV!!)

Good luck!

I am so pleased for you sounds like it wont be long now before you get Archie home ....... good luck for today xx
Archie's mum
Just got in,very pleased to finally see Archie again, looks like he's definitely be feeding well, hair has gone rather blonde in the sun, started 2 come up, then changed his mind! Apparently he has been around the stables for 3 days! Running around the fields, the owner of the stables very kindly have left him an open stable with a bed, some of his blankets& food & water,we went back again l8tr but he wouldn't come close! Just got to Sainsburys before they closed for Bbq's & supplies! The owner said she would creep up in morning & shut him in stable if she can manage it, if not I shall take a good book & sit and wait! Off to bed now, I think I may sleep better 2night, will let you know how it goes,Thanks again for all your support, I didn't realize how many kind & caring people there were out there xxxx
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Just had a long chat with Archie's mum and given her a little more detailed advice, however she and the kind stable owners sound like they have the situation well under control.
Archie's mum will update soon and tell us what has been arranged.
I have a feeling that Archie will be back with his family very soon.
I have got everything crossed for them!
Liberty Belle
Wonderful news. Hopefully Archie will be home soon. What an adventure he has had.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I have just had a message from Archie's mum with some very encouraging news.
She has seen Archie today and has been sitting in a rather chilly field watching him.
A call came through to them this afternoon from the Council saying that they had a call from a lady near Wrecclesham who had seen a dog around her stables for the last 3 days.
Archie's mum went over and saw him for herself. He started to go towards her but then turned away and ran away.
Archie was very scared, very fat and by the look of the field he has been eating crows. He has just been seen again in a lower field and appears to be after a deer! What a clever lad Archie is .. just goes to show how resourceful lost dogs can be.

I will leave Archie's mum to put an update on here about what is being done at the stables as the owner is being very kind and is willing to help them. Thank you to that lady!

I hope he is still around& catches the scent & comes home soon! Thanks Angiem, I shall let you know if we ever find out where to look, thanks everyone for your support, it means a lot that every one is rooting 4 our boy xxxx

Just got back, spoke to Jenny from k9 yesterday, we postered the ramblers this morning& are going 2 keep an eye out, then parked the car by house he escaped from, after much planning the safest route, we managed to narrow it down to 3 roads to cross& found the safest way back, leaving our scent, all through the woods, it took us about 2 1/2 hours trudging over hill & Dale, will try again later this evening

Went out again@ 4.00am,n no luck, fleece no slept on & food still there,Richard desolate, now wondering if it was a huge fox, spoke to a lot of people in red lion lane, which is the other side of meadow, who were very helpful & it appears that quite a few feed the foxes, there are lots of huge gardens,so could be holed up the n one of them hopefully. I'm off back to bed for a few hours& poor Richard is off to work, will try again tonight & will visit ramblers n the morning

Well done Archie's mum. Sounds like a good evenings searching. Glad to hear that the area is away from the roads and railway and that you may even have seen Archie yourselves. Very good thinking to follow advice and leave the bedding under the hedge.
Come on Archie, please go and settle down on that lovely cosy fleece and stay there until your family come in the morning.
I've got everything crossed that you find Archie there! Would be well worth the early start.

Just got home, Richard thinks he may have seen Archie -right size& shape, but disappeared down an alley in manor field, the back of the maltings, looked around 4 ages, but not seen again, it is well away from road, by the river, saw dog footprints spoke 2 lots of nice people who will look out 4 him & call if sighted, left his fleece under hedge, with plastic bag underlay, nearnearby where we saw him, with a tray of his favourite food. Off 2 bed now alarm set for 4am!

jenny4: I believe Archie's mum has requested help from k9tracker so hopefully they will get a response.

would a tracker dog be any good?

Thanks for the update Archie's mum.
So glad that you have had 2 new sightings today. What a shame the person who saw Archie tried to catch him and that he ran from them but good that you were told about it.
A little worrying that Archie seems to be going away from his home and also that the sightings are near to the railway and the A31. As I said when on the tel please put posters in Farnham Station and inform South West trains asap.
At least having news of him means that he is doing ok at the moment.

Well done to Archie's owners who have been going out at 4am to see if they can find Archie and have been looking in the area of the sightings today. They are on the way back there again now so fingers crossed that you get lucky this time.
Come on Archie .. time to go home!

Good luck later. If no luck, here is another Farnham Ramblers walk next week on Wednesday 8 July. Hopefully you will not need it by then. Ramblers are having a 3.5m/5.6km walk described as "Fields & Views of Crondall. Looked at the map and that looks to me to be between where you live and where Archie was lost. Start time at 10.30am at Crondall Church. Contact leader: Ruth C. - 07971 358586. Good place to give out posters?

Have sent emails including photos, thanks, it now appears to be a local, but still hoping, fingers crossed. A big thank you to all looking for our boy, it's very quiet hear! I thing the council are getting fed up of hearing my voice, but I shall keep reminding them!

Worth checking in with sighted dog 88847? A fair distance but more than possible. They may be able to look at Archie pics and rule in/out as a possibility?

Archie: You are doing a great job and I hope you will get a new sighting soon from all the posters up in the area. I am told that Archie would not normally go near roads but I have advised owner to contact the local Highways Dept just in case. Owner is still having probs logging in but has been in touch with me all the time. Archie was lost by his dogsitter. Owner lives in Grove Rd., Crookham. I'm going copy and paste some of the info so it's on Archie's page.

28/6/15: " ...have been out searching near where he escaped & I have been round our normal walk, asking everyone we saw, there are lots out looking for him, I have left gates & shed & back door open when in , just in case he appears, he has somewhere to shelter, I will put a bed in there for him, hopefully the badgers & foxes won't find it, tomorrow I can call vets & there are two kennels that take in strays, but unfortunately I didn't get home before they closed"
29/6/15: ".. had text (fm dogsitter) to say Archie had been seen close to our vets, but doesn't want to be caught, so we spent 3 hours last night scouring the area until it got too dark, R has been out there again since about 3.30. Someone suggested I contact local dustmen, so will be on it as soon as council opens, after calling the local kennels again .. & need to ring your helpline as I couldn't log on.
29/6/15: "We have advised everyone, posters everywhere, contacted kennels, council, radio, vets are aware & has a poster, explained to everyone how timid he is, we took some posters for dog sitter to put up. We were out last night until about 11.00pm & Richard was out at 4.00- until 9.00, then we have been round postering & talking to people, luckily, if he is in the park there are lots of streams & rabbits etc around & he is a scrounger, so if he is holed up some hopefully he could survive. We did see a young girl who goes jogging a lot & apparently she sees strays quite often when jogging, she took my number & will Fbk Farnham & college & get housemates to search, also Badshot Lea dog training amongst others, so hopefully he may be seen, fingers crossed.
Tried to log into dogs lost to no avail, will ring admin in the morning"
"We have today been all round Farnham park, putting up posters & giving my phone number to the world & his wife! Also phoned local radio, no luck with local dog wardens & kennels, off to RSPCA centre tomorrow"

The vets mentioned are in Hale Road, Farnham and the last sighting of Archie was at about 5.00pm on Friday. RSPCA do not take in stray dogs but have poster now.
Oh and just to say that Archie is about the size of a spaniel. Hoping to get a different photo as owner says she has better ones showing this.

Thanks and I agree Liberty Belle. However when Doglost does not have a Co-ordinator in the area a dog is lost we rely on lovely people like you to help.
After the recent sighting of Archie I am hoping he will stay in the same area and also that he will be holed up in this hot weather so that he does not get sunburnt, bless him!
Liberty Belle
It is all team work. I could not circulate posters without the work of others producing them and putting them on the Dog Lost site.

Thanks for your help Liberty Belle and Julie B.
Owners having problems logging in to the page but are doing what they can to find Archie. I have asked them to contact Admin so they can help.
I have been giving them advice via emails and hopefully they will be able to update the page soon.
Archie was seen near to his vets but despite searching for several hours in the early hours his owners could not find him. I understand that the dog walker is not able to be contacted after sending a text with that info.
Owner has made sure that Archie has a way to get back into his garden/home when he returns.
Come on Archie .. time to go home to your warm bed laddie.
Liberty Belle
Poster now on Farnham Animals Facebook page.
Julie B
Contact all local taxi companies and let them know Archie is missing. Ask them to shout out go their drivers to look out for Archie on their travels. They are out and about all hours of day and night and may see him xx

Posters have been circulated to the following veterinary surgeons: Shortheath Veterinary Surgery; The Bourne Veterinary Clinic; Cathcart & Winn Veterinary Hospital; Ash House Vets Ltd; Pet Doctors Tongham. Three have Facebook pages. Shortheath Veterinary Surgery have said that as soon as they open on Monday they will put the poster up in all five of their surgeries and in the meantime have put it on their two Facebook pages.

Poster on Farnham Dog Training Club Facebook page. They hope that Archie is soon found.

Poster on Farnham Herald Facebook page.

I have emailed our Doglost advice to you as I don't think we have a Co-ordinator in the area.
I am too far away to help I'm afraid but am hoping you find Archie quickly, bless him.
Have you had any news of him since he went missing and are you able to let us know exactly where Archie went missing from please .. the name of the road?

I would suggest you get as many posters up in the area so people are aware he is missing and also follow all the suggestions at the bottom of this page.
Best of luck finding him. Last edited: 2015-06-27 23:42:03 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
